The installation went well, and the inspector who checked the work commented that he was impressed with how neat the work was done. We have had work done in the past and have always been very satisfied with the work. The office staff is great to work with also; we had to change the date of the dye test because of the weather and the staff handled this with no problem. Going into closing for our house the water company had no record of the dye test being done so we called Matt's office and they gave us the date and time the Fax was sent to the water company. Issue resolved. Very impressive!

Mertz' Men were awesome. They dug out the broken trap below the concrete laundryroom floor, removed and flushed tree roots from interior sewer lines, put in and hooked up a new trap, put in new gravel and smooth concrete, and were able to preserve the original linoleum floor tiles so the repair is invisible. All was done in less than two days. They were prompt, skilled, professional, fast, tidy, and courteous. I wholeheartedly recommend this provider.

Matt Mertz has always been one of my favorite plumbers. This time, he sent one of his workers. He was polite but not overly helpful. When the facet was installed, the neck wobbles. He did not tighten the neck before the base was installed. Now we have a wobbling faucet.

I paid the $98 fee but only received the estimate for repairing the frozen pipes. The plumber who came out was very friendly and knowledgeable but said he had to get with the owner about the price for a split meter install. I never heard back from him and never got a response when I tried to contact the company through Angies list.

This was a complicated project whose initiation had to await the completion of seemingly interminable work under PWSA auspices that involved the replacement of an ancient terra-cotta combined sewer with separate storm and sanitary lines, the installation of catch basins, etc., on our block. Matt visited several times in order to discuss options and, as month after month of work on our street continued with spectacular slowness, to reevaluate our options. Once the PWSA-ordered work-- 37 weeks to complete one block!--had finally been completed, Matt submitted a revised estimate, as we had jointly decided that the better option was not to cut through the length of the driveway but, rather, to dig a trench from the driveway drain across a portion of the driveway, then through the backyard, then between our house and our neighbor's house, until finally connecting with the storm lateral tie-in. We also agreed that, inasmuch as the area between the houses would be excavated, it would be a good idea to install a French drain in order to eliminate drainage from our neighbor's property that was seeping into our basement. On Monday, the first day of a job that, amazingly, was completed in three days, Matt appeared with Shawn, the lead man on the job, and Steve, his co-worker. Once everything had been thoroughly discussed under Matt?s direction, Shawn and Steve set about work with formidable expertise and diligence. By Wednesday, Sean and Steve had completed the trench, laid the requisite pipe, connected the driveway drain and front and rear downspouts to the pipe, connected the pipe to the storm lateral tie-in, completed the French drain, and begun backfilling the trench. On Wednesday, Shawn and Steve, joined by five other men, worked until 8:00 p.m. to finish backfilling the trench, pour concrete to repair the portion of the driveway that had been cut, a job performed by three of the new arrivals, and rake the areas in front of and behind the house where excavated dirt had been piled. Throughout, and as mentioned, Shawn and Steve worked tirelessly and with exemplary professionalism. Completed in three days, the project, necessitated by PWSA, county, and federal regulations (so be aware of this if a new storm line is installed on your block!), was, to this layman, complex and presupposed serious experience and knowledge, qualities possessed in prodigious measure by Matt, Shawn, Steve, and the colleagues who joined them. Surprisingly, the project came in a few hundred dollars under budget, which was a welcome surprise. I offer my hearty praise to Shawn and Steve, their colleagues, and, above all, to Matt, whose supervisory Input and direction were crucial to the success of the project, which, btw, has been confirmed by the dryness of our basement and the unimpeded outflow of water during this, our monsoon season. Hearty kudos to Matt Mertz Plumbing for a job superbly done! Indeed, on the basis of my experience I am pleased to recommend Matt Mertz Plumbing with enthusiasm, for a complicated, frequently delayed job was completed in altogether impressive fashion and under budget!

I was very disappointed because the they were a no show for the first appointment. I understand that things come up but they should have called. I did reach out to them again and this time they did come.

They were prompt and returned my call quickly. The work needed was explained in a clear fashion.

The team from Mertz plumbing was here for one week. The job required a bobcat to remove dirt from the pipes. At the conclusion, the dirt was put back in place and the driveway cemented over. The job was efficient. neat and professionally done.

Two craftsmen showed up on schedule and replaced broken portion of pipe plus the provision for attaching the downspout. They did a good, neat job, and cleaned up after they were done.

This was our first time we've had to call a plumber so we weren't sure who to call or what kind of service we were going to get but were very pleased with Matt Mertz plumbing. The staff on the phone was very friendly and helpful setting up an appointment and we were quoted an appointment time of 10:30am and told the repairman would call us 15 minutes before he arrived which was nice because we knew exactly when he was going to be here. At 10:30am the repairman, Brian called to say he would be here in 15 minutes just like they said he would. 15 minutes later Brian arrived and was very friendly and professional. We asked him how long a job like this would take and he said it would take about an hour and half and he was right on on his estimate. We found Brian to be very friendly and he seemed to work fast, which we appreciated since we were paying by the hour. When he was done he showed us what he replaced and double checked that everything was working right. After seeing the quality of the work he did for us and his professional and friendly attitude we will be using Matt Mertz plumbing company in the future for all of our plumbing needs.

Joe was in contact by phone with ETA. Once there he inquired about problem or concern. Went right to work and was able to tell us there were roots in the septic pipe causing blockage and drain issues. Gave us a DVD of test and marked exact area in garage where problem is. Also gave us estimate on proper repair. So glad we did this as it is a significant issue that needs repaired and we could have closed on house not knowing this. They were able to get us an appointment quickly within our contract time frame also. Highly recommend. Will use in the future if need to.

I had recently moved to the neighborhood and we found there were root build ups in the drainage system. We got Matt Mertz plumbing to come out, they called and scheduled and were there exactly on time within two days of the initial call. The drain cleaning was amazingly painless, and the specialist a true professional. He showed me exactly the problem, offered several recommendations, and was clear about the cost of each one. He cleaned the drain and provided a root treatment that has so far been great. He also cleaned everything up which was a great bonus.
