Chris arrived on time and promptly got to work. He was very conscientious and wore shoe coverings so he didn't track anything into the house. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable fellow. Throughout the process he offered suggestions to extend the life of the disposal, as well as other tips. The whole process took about an hour or so. Chris made sure to test everything thoroughly to ensure the disposal and faucet were working properly. We were very pleased with the excellent job Chris performed for us. We highly recommend Mertz Plumbing and Chris to others needing plumbing work done in their home.

Called and received same day service for our clogged kitchen sink. Steve Appleton provided the service and was professional and very courteous. He easily performed the job & explained a little about the plumbing under the sink that had not been installed correctly. He also looked at our shower that leaks and gave his opinion on what he thought was wrong-for a future visit. Good experience & I will absolutely call to have them do the shower job after the holidays!

My experience with this company has been thoroughly positive including interactions with Matt the owner, Lisa and Kelly in the office, and especially Shawn and Steve who did the work. After I learned my sewer line was collapsed, the guys worked hard for two straight days in sub-zero temperatures (the coldest days of February 2015, itself a record-setting month) to replace my entire sewer line including clean-outs and vent. They were friendly and answered my questions without hesitation while working. I got to learn a lot about the problem and its solution. Due to the extreme cold, the dirt was quite frozen and difficult for them to tamp down. It left a high mound along the length of the sewer line which they said should settle pretty well when it thawed, but that if there were still problems to get in touch because Matt was good about keeping customers happy. Several months later the dirt had settled significantly but was still raised a good bit. When I got in touch with the office, Shawn and Steve were at my house on the same day to take care of it. Needless to say, the end result looks fantastic. One convenient thing for me through all of this was that the company is available via email, and very responsive at that. Usually my questions wouldn't require an immediate answer and it was much easier to send an email, knowing the information would make it to the right people, rather than stepping away from my desk at work to make a phone call. If you're looking for a plumber, I can strongly suggest hiring or at least getting a quote from Matt Mertz Plumbing.

I recently purchased a new home in the Wexford area. After doing research on the local plumbing companies, I chose to use Matt Mertz Plumbing. His prices seemed very fair. Scheduling service was very easy and they were able to come to my house the same week I placed the call. Chris showed up between the time frame I was given. Originally called to have gutter drain looked at with video inspection. Joe arrived at time specified for video inspection, decided there was a problem, gave me an written estimate for dry well. I had several estimates and decided that Matt Mertz was what we decided was the way to go for the price. Steve and Shawn arrived on time and proceeded with the installation of the dry well. The job went well and they were done faster than I expected. They cleaned up, hauled all the excess dirt away and restored the yard to fairly good condition.

After nearing the end of a basement remodeling project, I realized that the drain line for my new vanity was roughed in too low. The Matt Mertz team initially installed the drain line at the beginning of my project, but did so to the exact dimensions that I provided. I failed to realize at the time that the vanity had a drawer in the bottom which would necessitate installing the trap several inches higher than I had planned. Not really wanting to carve up my new vanity, I didn't hesitate to call Matt Mertz to see if they could talk me through some options. I was super-excited when I was told that someone could come out the next day. Steve arrived the next afternoon and immediately assessed the situation. After talking through our options, we eventually decided to raise the drain and vent line which required cutting into the new drywall. I'm still not sure how Steve did it (I didn't want to watch!), but he managed to only cut away the smallest portion of drywall, cut and raise the drain/vent assembly, and reset the vanity within about 20 minutes. Very impressive. This was the third time that I've used Matt Mertz Plumbing, and have already recommended them to my friends and family. Top notch crew all the way around.

I had them here about a year ago. It was an insurance deal. It went beyond what I thought they we're going to have to do and it cost a fortune.

We have been pleased with them in the past but this experience was not as good. They installed a new toilet that we have had problems with since they installed. They have been out three times to fix it. They have been very willing to come out and try to repair. They are very nice and professional but we feel that they sold us an inferior product. Again, the service is good but the product was poor.

Installer was professional and fast. I was satisfied with the end result. The issue with the additional $100.00 being tacked on at the last minute was promptly resolved after contacting the service provider. A full refund of the additional $100.00 was made.

I have used Matt Mertz Plumbing for a number of jobs - this is just the latest. They have always been on-time (which is very nice), efficient (their time estimates to complete the job are spot-on), and neat (they clean up after themselves!). I live in a 152 year-old house that has gone through some renovations. The kitchen was in really bad need of updating and redesigning for actual use (not sure the people before us ever cooked). To maximize the space and minimize the freezing water line possibility, I wanted the supply and drain lines relocated. I also wanted to add a water line for the refrigerator. The gas line for the stove had to be moved, also. All of these items were done over a two day period. In the past, they have also added a washer drain line, redid the fresh air intake, added a gas line (for the dryer), and performed other miscellaneous plumbing corrections to the basement. I will continue to use Matt Mertz Plumbing for all of my plumbing needs and look forward to using them when we finally get to redo the master bathroom.

My wife and I just moved and we needed 5 separate plumbing needs to be done and we called Matt Mertz Plumbing. The master plumber that was sent out to our house was extremely knowledgable and friendly . This man took a long list of duties and got each and everyone of the tasks done in one day ! The experience is what saves you money now a days and it shows , I think that's what everybody wishes for and deserves. One other thing I would like to add is how the plumber at the end of the job cleaned up and left all the work areas in great shape ! Matt Mertz Plumbing is our go to plumber. We have been useing him for years and when the hot water heater started to go out we knew exactly who to call. Hunter came out and addressed the situation. Within just a few hours hunter had the old tank out and new one installed. Everything was cleaned up and completed just as planned. Another quality job completed by Matt Mertz!

I was very pleased with every facet of my interaction with the company. I called early on a Sunday morning (because my 19 year old water heater was leaking very badly). Since it was a Sunday, I pressed the Emergency Service button. My call was answered by Jim -- who was very pleasant and helpful to me even though I'm pretty sure that I woke him up and got him out of bed. After a brief discussion, Jim hung up in order to get details regarding service and scheduling details. He called me back in about 15 minutes and outlined the options (including costs) for me very clearly. I agreed to have a new 50 gallon hot water installed on Monday morning (the next day) in order to avoid a surcharge for Sunday overtime service (which Jim was prepared to provide if I had elected to do so). On Monday morning, Al showed up right on time and did an excellent job -- he removed the old water heater and installed the new one in under 2 hours. Like Jim, Alan was very pleasant, helpful and professional. I was very happy with my experience with Mertz plumbing and I will call them again to handle any plumbing issues that might develop in the future --- and I guess it's obvious that I would highly recommend their services to others.

Jim (tall Jim) there are two with the company very courteous and professional. Finished job in a little more than an hour. He is a master plumber. Made positive suggestions about future needs and gave an estimate on the cost. He was not trying to push business only suggestions. I would recommend Matt Mertz Plumbing. This was my first experience with Angie's List and it turned out well. My only complaint was with the Angie's List. itself. The list is out of date with services, coupons and prices. This complaint excludes Matt Mertz only the information provided to me by Angie's List. Some of the companies did not service hot water replacements and stated they stopped that service several years ago. Coupons or senior discounts were flatly denied.

Matt Mertz and crew fixed the sewer at my grandmother's house via the use of a sewer pipe liner approximately two years ago. The installation was quick and professional - and above all fixed the near constant sewer backups that were occurring in her basement. The sewer liner method also saved her beloved plants and trees in her front yard as it didn't require the traditional trench in the yard to replace. The quote was competitive - Roto Rooter wanted approximately $1,000 more to do a traditional dig up the yard and replace job. Overall we are all very pleased.

The plumber was professional and arrived on time. He ascertained our problem was a faulty water pressure gauge, which he replaced.

They did a great job troubleshooting my problem. I had a new expansion tank installed along with a new hot water tank over a year ago. But I noticed the relief valve on the hot water tank was purging now and then. I decided to have Matt Mertz plumbing look at this problem. They found my pressure regulator at the inlet to my house was bad. Which destroyed the expansion tank. The previous plumber had no idea what he was doing. Great job Matt Mertz. I will use you again.

The plumber was able to come and fix my clogged drain within 2 hours of my calling in the morning! It was discovered that the clog was most likely under the basement floor, so it took some time to snake it out. Joe did excellent work and was concientious about not making more of a mess than absolutely necessary. The person who took my call in the morning was very polite and professional, as was the plumber. Very reasonably priced and excellent work. I can't ask for more than that. Would definitely call them back whenever needing a plumber.
