Brian arrived on time and promptly got to work. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable fellow. I asked a variety of questions, wanting to understand how a water heater works, to understand some of the procedures he was performing, etc. Brian was very patient and always willing to answer my questions with a smile. The whole process took less than an hour. Brian made sure to test everything thoroughly to ensure things were working properly. We were very pleased with the excellent job Brian performed for us. We highly recommend Mertz Plumbing and Brian to others needing plumbing work or a new water heater. FYI, we used the Angie's List coupon to get a $50 discount on the water heater and installation. The original quoted price was $645.

The clog backed up into the utility tub while we were on vacation. After trying to wash clothes, the tub overflowed. I tried to clear the clog by cleaning the trap, snaking the pipes, plunging, and using Liquid Plumber. I couldn't clear the clog. Seeing as our kitchen sink and dishwasher ran into the same common drain line as the utility tub, we needed a relatively quick fix so we could use the washer and the kitchen. I emailed Matt Mertz on Sunday. Being a weekend, I didn't expect a response at all since it really wasn't a plumbing emergency. But I did receive a response indicating they could send someone out on Monday between 8am - 12pm. The plumber showed up shortly after 8 and was done in under an hour. The responsiveness of the staff for a non-emergency in such a short window is very much appreciated. I will use Matt Mertz for future issues.

Excellent ! Scheduling was easy. Big Jim came out and gave an estimate for the job. He was thorough and made helpful recommendations. We had time to schedule the job and I specifically requested him since he already knew what was needed. For the actual job he was again very helpful to work with our busy schedule. He came on time, completed the job and cleaned up after wards. He wore booties on his shoes to keep the floors/carpet etc clean. When the job was completed it looked great.

I had frozen pipe occur on a really cold day in which there was no water to the house. I called early Sunday morning and reached Brian. I really appreciate that he came within 30 mins of the call. He was very courteous and knowledgable - explained the situation and solution. 30 mins later we had water to the house.

on time. polite, professionals. follow up by office staff was excellent. Hunter, Jim, and Brian --excellent workmen. they explained why the problem was occurring and how to resolve the problem. They made only necessary wall entry points to locate leak. coupon was helpful. Jim explained how the boiler system works, what is required to keep it working properly. in addition, resolved a radiator knocking problem because he bled the entire system in areas the customer could not reach. .Excellent work.

He arrived on time, the plumbers name was Hunter. He was very polite, professional, and got the job done very quickly. Out of all of the plumbers we have had out here he really seemed to know what he was doing, he also wore protective plastic around his shoes so no dirt or snow was tracked inside.

Matt Mertz Plumbing came to our residence and performed a sewege pipe inspection and camera inspection. Gave us a written estimate for "completly blocked trap clogs and pipes needing completely replaced" with an estimate of 3,000 to possibly 5,000 dollars. Upon telling them we have no sewege issues and havnt for 17 yrs we owned the home, the Mertz employee stated it "absolutely needed done"..so we got another plumbing company who viewed Matt Mertz Camera dvd, then simply brought a plumbing snake, cleaned our frains, and told us there is no problem, no need to replace lines, it's just common "g***" that was cleared and we needed no line replacement. Then the new plumbing company showed us where they had to have us move our classic car from the garage, remove a wood workbench that required tools to detach it, just to get to the main clean out line. Point being- Matt Mertz Plumbing did NONE of that, so how could he have seen the line or even gotten to it? He didn't. We warn anyone against using Matt Mertz plumbing. (The service person also gave us the wrong information on Dye testing procedures)

Steve was very nice - water was leaking in my basement around the regulator. He was here within the hour as promised, took it all apart, showed me the problem, and had it fixed within an hour as well. Gave me a couple tips on drying out the area too. Very pleased

Very happy!! Called initially for gas fireplace issues and not a lot of people work on them. The day before the appointment, I had to add more work as my sink faucet started leaking. Well, they were on time, easy to work with, professional and fixed every thing I asked. They also showed me a corroded valve but didn't pressure me to change it. I chose to change it and couldn't be happier with the cleanliness of the job and how quickly they fixed it. Price was much less than I had expected too!! Highly recommend!!

When I called Matt Mertz Plumbing, the telephone attendant told me the repair times available for my service call. The next day, the plumber, Bill Lewis, called to let me know he would be at my home, told me his current location and said he would arrive in 15 minutes -- and so he did. He was the most professional and polite skilled tradesman that I have ever had perform any work of any kind. He left things neat and clean and fixed the problem. I asked his advice on keeping the disposal working properly and he offered advice and suggestions. If I need any plumbing work in the future, I will most certainly request him. This was a pleasant experience, if any plumbing problem can be considered a pleasant experience. Mr.Lewis was the best.

Rory was very professional and since I was the first on the list on this snowy saturday morning, he was at my front door less than 30 min after calling. He didn't waste any time and got to work. He problem solved quickly snaked the sewer line from the trap, as he knew the clog was beyond that point. Then Rory pulled out the camera and proceeded to show me what my line looked like 40 ft out then moving backwards. Very informative and glad he had this technology handy to show me. All in all very pleased with the service and will use again.

Came the same day that I called. Removal and replacement went smoothly. I had to replace my expansion tank. I told them replace it without asking for the added cost. In the end the total price was more than I expected. I payed the bill then called the office the next day to complain about the total cost of my bill. They adjusted the bill to my satisfaction. I don't feel this would cause me to call someone else next time. Overall a good experience.

I called Matt Mertz Plumbing around 11:00am today to replace a leaky hot water tank. Jeff responded to my call and asked that I email a few pictures of my present setup so they could verify what I have and what they need to bring for my job. After the email, Jeff called back and I was informed to hang tight and stay by my phone to see when someone could come to my house. Just make sure you answer the phone when they call, or they will skip over you. With that being said...Phil and Bob arrived at my house at 3:30PM, after calling at 3 to let me know they were on their way. They were really great to work with. They dealt with all of my questions and offered to provide a seperate quote for additional work that I need done on another trip. It took approximately 3 hours to install the new tank from start to finish, which included a 45 minute wait for the new catch pan to arrive. If you are reading this review and comparing it with some of the other negative reviews that are here.... my advice is to give Matt Mertz Plumbing a call. My issue was dealt with professionally, in a timely manner, and at a fair price. I will consider them again in the future.

Please read this: I had received two other estimates, one that estimated the cost to be $1500! This work took two hours and careful timing that Jim demonstrated wisely. He took the time to educate this old lady about how to take care of things in the future and provided me with tools to assist in management of this problem in the future. I am so grateful to Matt Mertz and Jim Bucci for offering quality care and master servce. EXCELLENT PROVIDER!!!

Got three estimates and by far Matt Mertz was the most detailed and organized. Agreed to the work and they did an exceptional job on all aspects of the project. Inside the basement they jackhammered and removed the old broken terra cotta line. The dirt and debris was tremendous and I was amazed at how clean they worked and left my house at the end of each work day. They followed the amateur plans I created for the rough ins and even fixed a mistake I made in planning. The inside work went as planned and I was super impressed and each evening I was left with the ability to use the plumbing. Finish of the basement concrete was perfect and the new sink works great. My outside line was in really poor shape and after jetting the camera could clearly showed a section of terra cotta was collapsed and could not be lined. It was shown to me and clearly explained they would have to dig, and this was also outlined in the bid/estimate, so no surprise on my side. The excavation of my front yard was brilliantly performed and like the inside all went well. The trench was very deep. Even a leaky water line was addressed as part of the job. No problem for the crew, true professionals. Even let my toddler son check out the excavator! After putting back the dirt they groomed the top soil and seeded. New side walk pads replaced those removed. The grass grew back beautifully and is now the best front lawn on the street. Everything occurred in the timeline planned and unexpected issues explained well and handled professionally. Inside and out they did an amazing job, super clean and great communication. I was at work most of the time during the project and it was no problem.

Matt Mertz sent out a plumber named Rory. We can't say enough about how satisfied we were with not only his work, but his professionalism. Rory was everything you would want someone to be who has come into your home to make a repair. He was punctual, courteous, and reassuring. In his work he was efficient, quick, and clean. It was quite unpleasant to have have issues with the toilet, but it was rather pleasant to have Rory come to our rescue. We highly recommend Matt Mertz plumbing, and we especially give our thanks to Rory!

I used Matt Mertz Plumbing before, so i know that they were good. Phil Arena came out to give me an estimate and told me what was all involved in replacing the shower unit.Definately something i could've never done. Gave me the estimate and it was very fair for the amount of work he had to do. They scheduled him to come out on 12/9/15 between 8 and 12 he called before he was coming. Very professional and kind people at Matt Mertz Plumbing. He has to go through the front of the shower because of how the house was made. It was leaking in the basement before prior to him coming. No leaks now. He really did a great job and also found something else in the basement while putting the shut off valves on easy fix but i would've never known it. Highly recommend these guys . Phil Arena is a master plumber and he knows his stuff great job guys!
