"It has always been Legacy Remodeling's policy to provide the best customer service possible and give advance notice to homeowners if we are unable to keep a scheduled appointment. Due to extenuating circumstances with a salesperson being sick, it seems that we were unable to provide you with the high level of customer service that you deserve. Please accept our apologies and we hope to earn your business in the future."
He also informed me that Angie's List was a scam and if companies pay enough money, they can have their negative reviews removed. I contacted Angie's List and was told that was untrue. A total waste of time.
"We're sorry that our company was not a good fit for your needs. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality products that are installed by experienced contractors and are protected with lifetime warranties. The satisfaction of our customers speaks for itself - a full 97% of our customers would refer us to family and friends."
"Thank you so much for your business and the positive feedback. We strive to make the customer experience as enjoyable as possible and we're thrilled that you enjoyed your Legacy experience. We look forward to serving you again in the near future."
I would not recommend Legacy due to their Higher price and the service that does not match. It's a year after the finish of this project and I still feel we were WAY over charged for what we got. Formica counter tops paper cabinets and linoleum but the price we paid you would think we got custom built cabinets, stone counter tops and tile floors.
"While weāre sorry that you are displeased with the final outcome of your kitchen, weād like to note that Legacy provided the exact cabinet material and color that you saw samples of, selected, and signed off on for the project. As was discussed prior to the project, the cabinets provided were semi-custom cabinets built to the specifications you selected and with a limited lifetime warranty. Concerning the removal of the cabinets, this is a complimentary service that Legacy provides to its customers. We charge only to install new cabinets ā not remove old ones. Therefore, the removal of some of your former cabinets did not necessitate a change in the price of the project. While weāre sorry that you were displeased with the situations regarding the pantry and refrigerator, Legacy worked to find solutions in both situations that would provide flexibility in the future and that were of no additional cost."
These Windows were custom made to fit the existing openings, so there was a 4 week wait while they were manufactured, It was a rainy week when they arrived so they had to reschedule a few times, ended up installing on a Sunday.
The install went great, they arrived when tehy said and worked straight through until all the windows were in, then explained how to open an clean them.
I think I'll probably be replacing the rest of the windows in a few years (while "newer", the rest of the windows are cheap and not very efficient), and I will be giving them another call.
"Thank you so much for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to help you improve your home and we look forward to serving you again in the future."
"Thank you for your business and the feedback on our company. We will ensure that our service coordinator contacts you promptly to discuss your screens."
"Thank you for your feedback. Our goal is to ensure complete customer satisfaction. We're thrilled that you are pleased with your new windows and we hope to earn your business again in the near future."
"Thank you for allowing us to work on your home and for the positive feedback. We hope you enjoy your new windows and look forward to serving you again in the near future."
"We're sorry that we were unable to see you for your original appointment. We do require a verbal or email confirmation prior to your appointment time, which we explain when we set the appointment. When we were unable to reach you via phone or email to confirm, we assumed that you no longer wanted the appointment. We would still welcome the opportunity to come discuss your project."
Call to set up appointment. Told that it involved two areas of company. Backed up on remodeling, could consider windows.
Estimator came to house, spent at least one hour measuring/discussing.
No follow up. No price on even window installation.
No followup on powder room project.
It was a while ago and I wasn't going to write a review about this problem, but the company was still soliciting business recently at a local art fair.
"I'm sorry that you were displeased with your experience with our company. A consultant of ours will be calling you to discuss your project and answer any questions you may have."
Our door is unusual in that it swings in. This fact was missed by the person ordering the door, so the installer's time was wasted as he started to remove the old door before discovering the new one was not right.
They ordered the door again and the installation went smoothly. The installer was friendly and professional.
The only odd thing in the end was that they put a black door closer bracket on a white door. They said that swing in doors only come with black brackets, doesn't make sense to me but that's what they said.
"Thank you for your feedback. We pride ourselves on a high level of customer service, so we're pleased that we were able to correct our mistake and find a prompt solution. We hope you continue to enjoy your new door and look forward to serving you again in the future."
Legacy did a quality job, complicated with me being forced to be out of town during the work. A relative monitored progress and reported back to me. Ken Moeslein, head of Legacy was proactive in communications and responsive to correct issues and finalize any change requests.
I had researched qualified/certified Hardie installers and Legacy was on the short list. Legacy was responsive and came out to the house to conduct an estimate and submitted it to me within a few days. Started a bit on the wrong foot as Legacy's initial estimate assumed installation over the existing siding. I had concerns over the stability of the Masonite and basically wanted it off the house (for those that are not familiar with Masonite it is essentially a 1/2 inch paper/cardboard siding sheet product with a decorative painted outer layer - popular in 1980's with builders, but prone to moisture issues). After revising scope and coming to terms (Ken knocked off 15% to include removal and installation of new OSB), work proceeded on schedule.
Installation happened fairly quickly and on schedule. Believe the actual workman included subs and Legacy staff. There were some minor issues identified during the install (trim fit primarily) that were acknowledged in walk through reviews. Ken in the end was instrumental in closing and correcting any remaining items.
"Thank you for the feedback on your Legacy experience. While we would like every project to proceed without hiccups, sometimes issues do come up, and we always do our best to ensure customer satisfaction. We're happy that you're pleased with the end result and hope that you will choose us to help you improve your home with future projects. Enjoy your beautiful home!"

We work hard to make sure that both the products we offer as well as the installers we send to our customers homes are the very best. Please keep us in mind if you have any future home improvement needs. The most important source of growth for our business is repeat customers and referrals from satisfied customers like yourselves."
"Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry that we were unable to help you improve your home. While we might not always be the least expensive choice, we pride ourselves on using the highest quality products, skilled and experienced installers, and providing one of the best product warranties in the business. Best of luck with your project and we hope we can earn your business in the future."
We visited their show room to check out the door and see the color we wanted. It looks very close in color, so we went with it.
It was installed pretty close to when they said it would, and the installer did a nice job.
"Thank you for the feedback. We strive to ensure that every customer is satisfied with our work. We look forward to helping you improve your home again."
"Thank you for business and the positive feedback of our company. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality workmanship and being responsive to our customers' needs. We look forward to helping you improve your home again in the near future."
Several weeks later we were informed that the door was ready to be installed and scheduled an appointment. The installer arrived when he said he would and did a very good job.
"Thank you for the feedback. Our number one priority is providing outstanding customer service, so we are thrilled that you enjoyed your Legacy experience. We look forward to serving you again in the near future. Enjoy your new door!"
"We're sorry that we were unable to work with this member on her project. Throughout our 26-year history, our company has prided itself on offering a high quality product, one of the best warranties in the industry, and outstanding customer service. While we might not always be the cheapest option, our customers receive fair values for their investments through our attention to detail and commitment to serving our customers' needs."
within no time the guys had the old one out and were cleaning up the old
"Stuff". New windows were completely installed before they moved to
the next one...cleaning up as they went along. The last one was a double slider
which was replacing one that was a double side casement ? cemented in. Bob's
team had the old one out (only broke one plane) in no time - cleaned up. Built
a wooden frame - set the window - foamed it...framed it ...and cleaned
up.....Did I mention that they cleaned up before moving on to the next phase...
Had them measure three more windows forthe next phase ? so yes I welcome this company back!
"Thank you for your business and the positive feedback. We strive to provide the best customer service possible, so we are thrilled that you enjoyed your Legacy experience. We look forward to working with you on the next phase of your windows and for many more projects in the future."
"Member; I am sorry to hear that you have run into problems with your home. Unfortunately I am not exactly sure what you think that Swing Line did wrong. I agree with you that we probably used very minimal caulking on your siding project. Generally speaking vinyl siding is not supposed to be caulked nor is it supposed to be waterproof. Water management with vinyl siding is accomplished with drainage and proper flashing. At the bottom of each panel of vinyl siding is a weep hole which is intended by the manufacturer to allow water to drain from behind the siding. When Swing Line installed your siding the installer applied a foam backing board to the home prior to installing the siding. This was required by Alcoa, the manufacturer of your siding. That backer board is intended to prevent liquid water from entering your home while still allowing water vapor to pass out of the home. The backer board also acts as a drainage plane for water to drain down. A drainage plane such as this is now required as part of building code in many parts of the country because it protects the home from the water that is expected to get behind siding. While many companies did not use a foam backer with their siding in 2000, Swing Line, as an Alcoa Master Contractor, did. If you are encountering water problems in your home now, I would suggest that the cause is not related to the vinyl siding on your home, rather it is related to some other factor on your home. One common issue which I have seen in numerous homes in the Pittsburgh area is ice damn's. These form when the gutter becomes full of ice preventing proper drainage from your roof in cold winter weather. The ice works its way up your roof, lifting shingles and eventually entering the walls systems of homes. Based on the layout of your home, where Swing Line installed your siding and your description of the problem, I believe this is a possibility. One of the things that Swing Line and now Legacy most prides itself on is our customer service. If you suspected that the installation of your siding caused this problem you should have called us and we would have been more than happy to come take a look. According to our customer records, you never brought this concern to our attention. Please let me know if you would like someone to come out to take a look at this for you. While I don't believe that your siding is the cause of your leak, I am sure we could offer you options for your roof and gutter system which would help prevent future issues."
"Thank you very much for your business and the positive feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your Legacy experience and your new siding. We look forward to helping you improve your home again in the near future."
