It didn't go perfect, and when it went wrong, the true character of the company was on display. The spigot was very old and broke in the wall when we went to replace it. The technician was as surprised as I was. They rescheduled and followed up to make it right, I did not have to call them, they called us. The scoping of the downspouts was very good. The tech was patient and demonstrated a keen knowledge of our home. He identified issues that and Engineer could not explain. We are very happy with the service and will always look to Lakewood Mechanical when we need the services they offer.
Description of Work: We needed a spigot replaced and downspouts checked out

I used Lake Wood Mechanical but I didn't use them through Angie's List. They were here within the last three months. I think it was something like $70 or $80, something like that. There was one person who came out to do the work. It took about an hour, hour and a half to finish the work.
Description of Work: They did some plumbing work.

I had contacted Lakewood Mechanical to install a water line for my new fridge. A gentleman named Kim arrive promptly at 7;10 AM. After inspecting my basement, he determined that it was impossible to install a line because it would have to go through the garage and freeze. ( And that no other plumber would install it as well) NOT TRUE!!! After searching for another water source, he ascertained that he could intercept the pipe behind my toilet by knocking a hole in the back of the pantry and then drill through an adjacent wall to get access to the fridge. After removing my baseboard, and making two holes in the rear pantry wall, Kim determined that he couldn't get access to the pipe after all. The holes in the wall were left as is, and Kim proceeded to re-install the baseboard that he had removed in an attempt to gain access to the pipe. The baseboard was not replaced in its original position, and I had to re-install it again so the pantry door would close. Since Kim really hadn't accomplished much other than to tell me what he COULDN"T do, and there were now two holes in my walls,, and the baseboard was re-installed incorrectly, I was quite taken aback when I was charged $80. FOR WHAT?? I contacted another plumber who arrived in 2 hours, and proceeded to find a solution within 10 MINUTES !!, and spent time advising me of the different options available regarding the installation, as well as providing me an estimate. Time spent-40 MInutes. His CHARGE???? $0.00
Description of Work: NOTHING!!! Wanted Lakewood to install a water line to my fridge. Gentleman named Kim told me why he couldn't install a water line to my fridge because the line would go through the garage and freeze. Thought he could tap onto a pipe behind my toilet and proceeded to knock two holes into my plaster walls in the pantry closet , before deciding it wouldn't work. He had removed my baseboard to gain access, then installed it incorrectly, causing my pantry door to not close. I had to re-install the baseboard again myself. Kim charged me $ 80 to deface my walls and then tell me the work couldn't be done!!! I called another plumber, who came within two hours, and was able to arrive at a solution within 10 minutes, and gave me an estimate for the work, His CHARGE ???? $0.00

. Originally, I gave this company an "A" rating right after the job was finished, however I have changed my mind. One thing was they never gave me a paper receipt. The tech used an I Pad to record the information. I was told I would be sent a paper copy, but I never received one. I called and asked for it a week later and was assured that I would be sent one. It never came. Two weeks ago, I requested one by email after no one answered their phone. No receipt. More important, the tank leaks. I needed a certain part of the pressure tank replaced. The Sloan Company sent me the part and another value as it would be easier to replace both valves rather than use the non -leaking second valve. When the tech was done, the second non problem replacement valve was leaking. I asked him to use the original valve but he refused. He left with the valve still leaking. A week later, I called the company's owner and told him that the second valve, the non problem brand new valve, was leaking after his tech had replaced it. He told me that he would have to charge me if he sent his tech out to try and fix the leak. Since then, the leak has increased. If the tech believed that the brand new part was defective, he could have just reused the old part. Last week, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Of Western Pennsylvania

They sent a guy named Kim to do the repairs. He worked steadily the entire time and didn't waste time like other plumbers in the past have. As a result, my labor costs weren't inflated. I appreciate this, as plumbers are expensive. Kim was polite and professional.
Description of Work: The service included the repair of the flushing mechanism in the toilet tank and the installation of a sink faucet I had bought online.
