Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for an AC Tune-up. I live just a few miles north of Pittsburgh in Allegheny County. Their description says they service Allegheny County and the map shows that my township is completely covered. Also, I ordered through an Angie's List representative who said my area was covered (since that was clearly implied from the information Angie's List had). However, when I called the company they said they don't service my area. I argued saying my township is clearly covered in the service map on Angie's List, however, they said it was not covered because it was too far out of Pittsburgh (McKnight Rd. area approx. 8 miles from downtown). I have no idea about their responsiveness or professionalism, but I am annoyed that they have their coverage information listed incorrectly, and I have to waste my time to call and get the deal refunded. They should have honored it .

Description of Work: They were a second opinion on a furnace question. The first company flagged my furnace and said that I needed a new one. JRB did a second inspection, did not flag the furnace and provided better pricing on a potential new furnace which I have not needed to purchase. When the times comes for a new furnace, I will get it from this company!

Description of Work: They were punctual and professional, however I ended up going with another service provider. In comparison, I do not feel that the serviceman with JRB did a truly thorough job in evaluating our furnace issues and attempting to address them. He never tested the electrical lines in my furnace, and he gave us possible solutions to the problem, but nothing specific. He said that we should replace the thermostat, or a ~$600 unit, or replace the furnace. Our furnace is not even 13 years old...so why should we have to replace it? We replaced the thermostat ourselves and it didn't actually fix the problem, but I wanted a second opinion before I shelled out $600. The second serviceman fixed the problem (electrical at the furnace) and corrected the pressure switches which were, according to him, removed and accidentally switched. I nor my husband touched the furnace before or after the JRB service person checked it out in November, and we have no idea what a pressure switch looks like. | |Basically, I felt the JRB repairman he could have done more to assess the problem. I guess you get what you paid for. I do not think they are a bad company nor have bad employees, they just did not do enough to address our problem.
