My experience with JRB was very professional and courteous throughout - from my initial contact via the angieslist email tool, to purchasing the deal to when they came out to perform the service. They were on time, called in advance to alert me when they were about 15 minutes away, which is a must when I am home alone during the day, and performed the inspection and cleaning to my satisfaction. I had some additional questions regarding radiator valve replacements, explaining the issues I had. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that my issues were fairly common and might not need the fix I was suggesting. He still, however, talked me through options and gave me a quote to discuss with my spouse before moving forward with any additional service. Finally, the technician said that he lowered the temperature on the boiler to help the issues I was seeing, potentially correcting some of the variations in heating throughout the house. I would definitely use them again.

It went well. Jeff arrived about 15 minutes after he called. He explained what he was doing, he gave me some pointers on keeping it maintained, and he gave a reasonable estimate on a repair that needed done. The repair couldn't be done at this visit due to the part needing to be ordered but he explained how to repair would be done, the time needed to do the repair, and an estimated length of time on when he would be able to come back to do the repair. He was cool with my dog and she seemed to really like him. I was really satisfied with Jeff, his professionalism, kindness, and the work he performed.

I bought the Angies List coupon for a complete install of a High Efficiency Lennox Gas Furnace for $2495. Upon arrival, the installer advised me that the furnace I purchased would not work for me and that other devices would need to be installed and that I would need to write a check for $769, I talked to the owner and discussed my problem with the extra cost, he stated that it is normal for some houses to have upgrades and I stated that nothing was ever said to me on the phone and he assured me that the woman that took my appointment would also mention the "some installation restrictions apply" , which she did not. I was not happy but did not have a choice as I had to have my furnace replaced and I waited a month for the install. So, I had to pay $400 for a flu & intake installation, $289 for an upgrade in furnace size and $ 80 for installation of a condensation pump, for a total of $ 769 extra dollars. The installation crew also showed up late. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

The service men from JRB Heating and Cooling arrived about in the middle of the noon to 4 p.m. window. They were polite, efficient, and professional. They also answered my questions about a built-in electrical heater in our kitchen that wasn't working and gave recommendations for repairing or replacing it. We used JRB last year, too, through an Angie's List deal.

Cesar was quite personable, helpful, and professional. He pointed out a couple of things that will need addressing in the future but did not try to get me to unnecessarily buy parts now. His office called to see if coming a bit early was okay and he was right on time.

Went good. They were patient. The hours were slim as far as when the appointment had to be made but good.

Jeff, our service man, was super punctual! He told us exactly what he was going to do, and how long it would take, and if I had any questions before he started. He went right to work, knew exactly what he was doing! He asked if there were any more questions, made suggestions about CO monitors and our filter installations. Our furnace is in perfect working order. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jeff was courteous and pleasant...top notch!!

I picked this company because they were running a special price on Angie's List. They responded quickly, scheduled a date based on my availability, arrived toward the end of the anticipated time frame (9 am to 1 pm), and performed the work efficiently. They didn't have a furnace filter that fit my furnace, but they gave me the dimensions of one to buy and instructions on how to install it. (It's not difficult, but I've never done that myself and had no idea how to open the face of the furnace.) They told me I should replace the filter every 6 months rather than annually, so I was glad for my newly acquired knowledge.

We got an estimate from Jeff in early August (August 10) to install a ductless mini-split system in our MBR and family room. Pretty basic job, Jeff said they have a whole crew that does only these kinds of job. So you would expect them to be able to easily schedule and do this kind of job, right? Wrong. Jeff's estimate was the most expensive of the 4 we got, but we were inclined to go with him because of the stellar Angie's List reviews. We also liked him because he offered a 5 year labor warranty which he said JRB offers on everything ("We do that on all systems," he said - I wrote in my notes.) His initial estimate was for $6,520 for two mini splits by Lennox. We didn't really care which brand we got (we ended up with a Carrier) but we wanted a system that could heat the house even when it's really cold out. Some of these systems are rated down to only 15 degrees F, but they're not good much lower. When I told Jeff this he said he could research other systems, and I told him about a Fujistu system rated to -15 degrees. He said he spoke with his distributor and he could install that system for the original quoted price. (I was surprised because the other HVAC companies said the advanced systems were more expensive, but I figured Jeff's quote was originally high, so he probably built in some wiggle room.) We scheduled the job 2 weeks out, for Sept 21 I believe. Jeff's office sent me a contract to sign and return with a 50% deposit. That's when the problems started. The contract included not a 5 year labor warranty, but 1 or 2 years. I called and said Jeff told me it's always 5 and the woman in the office said that's not right. Jeff called back and said we'll do 5 but that was special for you. (Again, that's not what he told me when he was trying to win my business - see above.) So they sent a new version of the contract. At some point I also gave them my CC number for the deposit, but they never charged it. I checked the parts numbers on the contract and they were not for the Fujitsu systems rated to -15 degrees. They were for a cheaper system. So I emailed back and said there's a mistake again, please fix the part numbers. I didn't hear back for several days. I sent follow up emails and called. Then, on Sept 17 - two business days before the work was supposed to start - Jeff sent me this email: "I'm emailing you to inform you that regretfully are retracting our estimate and involvement in your current project due to unforeseen circumstances. I thank you again for the opportunity. Have a great day." That was the entire email. No explanation. No "Sorry, we messed up the price, it's actually going to be a bit more," (which we would have understood as I said). I emailed Jeff back to say I was disappointed and would have understood if he needed to push the date or something, but to have no explanation or even a phone call leaves us in a tough spot. No response. We ended up getting the job done for cheaper ($6,300) by Shafer HVAC. They did a great job, and you can find my review of them.

First, I must say that I purchased this same "Big Deal" on Angie's list last year and we rated them A on everything. This time it was not the same. We purchased the "Big Deal" on a Friday afternoon and the scheduling office was closed. We were finally able to speak with them to set up an appointment. The first available was for 18 days later. Had we known that we would have to wait that long we would have gone to another company. As it was, we had already paid for the service, and so we waited. We try not to turn our furnace on before we do the furnace clean and check each year... and it was pretty cold during the 18 day wait. The contractor "Jeff" came on time and on the day scheduled. He was polite and nice but told my husband that we had a boiler furnace and that the cost was 99.00 to do the clean and check. Last year we had the same furnace, and the same Angie's list big deal, and I am pretty sure we had the same "Jeff", and there was no mention of our furnace not being eligible for this deal. Before this "Big Deal" (2 years ago) we used another company that charged 60.00 every year and did a very nice job. The Big Deal" saved me 5 $ the first year and cost me 44 $ the next year. All total, I feel that this was at 39$ rip off. I will say again that the Contractor who came out both years was very nice and professional. But maybe had a change in the "Big Deal" that took me by surprise. I will try to use another Heating and Cooling company in the future. And Buyer Beware of additional costs.

JRG did a great job. Jeff called about 30 minutes before arriving. He quickly got down to work and cleaned and checked out the furnace. Jeff was easy to talk to and was able to answer all the questions I had about my HVAC system.

The provider arrived promply. He was friendly and took the time to explain to my husband what he had done to the furnace. He cleaned up after himself. We would defiently use this company again in the future.

JRB Heating and Cooling was my fourth bid to replace my ~25 yr old furnace and AC and I am so glad I called them. I was very impressed from the start with Jeff's approach to not only update the furnace and AC but to also expand the return ductwork in the basement to increase the air flow. We have an old house and when they added the dormers on the second floor to add two bedrooms, the ductwork that was installed was inadequate on the return side. Jeff also recommended the "better" furnace and AC units as opposed to the more expensive "best" units since he knew that the higher efficiency of the best units could not be realized with the limited ductwork in my house. The crew from JRB was great! They spent the first day removing the old furnace and AC and installing the new furnace so that it was operational when they left at the end of the day since the nights at this time of year were getting a little cold. Note - the only entrance to my basement was through the front door of the house and through the living room and the guys were great about being very careful moving the old furnace and ductwork out and bringing in the new furnace and ductwork. The crew was also great with our large dogs that were very interested in the comings and goings. Jeff stopped by at the end of the first day to check in with the crew and make the final measurements for the replacement ductwork. The crew came back two days later to complete the job - installing the AC, the new ductwork and the digital thermostat. We are very pleased with the new furnace and AC units - so quiet and efficient compared to the old units! I would highly recommend JRB Heating and Cooling for anyone looking to replace their old furnace and AC.

They did a good job of coming and doing a quick tuneup of the furnaces. When they cleaned the filters, they left dust from them on the garage floor, which is not a big deal, just a minor thing. Overall, they did a good job.

We used this company this past Spring for an air conditioner inspection and tune up with a deal and learned a lot about our air conditioner so we decided to purchase the deal for the furnace tune up and inspection before Winter. Jeff, the service technician and called an hour before arriving and arrived within the expected time frame. He checked everything out- everything turned out to be working properly; priced a programmable thermostat for us, and was on his way. Jeff is professional and very pleasant. I will use this company again.

Jeff was professional and quick. He took apart the furnace cleaned and inspected it. He also explained what he was doing asked if I had any issues with the furnace and suggested some things without being pushy. He also did well when he reminded me to call if we had any issues or needed repair work and again he did it nicely and professionally without sounding like a sales person. I really dislike it when I have a repair tech in but they spend their time trying to sell some other service, Jeff didn't do this.

Arrived on time and cleaned the furnace. I also had a small issue with a part that he addressed onsite.
