It was useful but it did not excite me. I was really looking to get an opinion about upgrading to a newer system and of course they did give me an estimate. They did minimal checking on my old one which I kind of anticipated that because of the low price. The bottom line is that I did get their estimate and I talked to another guy that does service work and he checked it and really thoroughly. He took the furnace apart and got into the inners and checked everything out. Of course he charged me more money. He charged about 20 or $30 more. The bottom was he told me my furnace was in excellent shape and so therefore he said he did didn't think I needed a new furnace and AC. I am running with that and so far. Its working fine. It was useful up to a point. I am not really excited about it. I really didn't expect them to check the unit as thoroughly as this other gentleman did. Pricing was average. Responsive was fine. We didn't have problems as far as getting together. Professionalism was fine. The guy gave me a written estimate. It was fairly detailed.

Very happy with this company and especially the technician Jeff. I used them last year for an annual inspection and was about to call for another inspection when the heater started acting up and I could not get it running. I called around 10am on a cold (20 degrees) day and they gave me a window to come from noon to 3pm. He showed up around 1:30 or 2. I was happy they were able to come so quickly as I'm sure they had to be very busy at this time of year. He was there for a total of 3 or 3 1/2 hours. This included two trips he had to run to get parts. Was very happy he was able to run out to get the parts and not have to come back another day. Jeff was professional, knowledgeable, patient with my questions and took time to explain what he did with furnace. I like knowing if anything else went wrong I know just who I'm going to call. Its nice to have the confidence and trust in this company which makes my life one less thing to stress about.

Process went very well. Received a visit within 1 week of calling. Received an estimate same day! Was able to discuss options, and received revised estimate and scheduled the work within another 2 days. The installation was quick and professional. Both men who performed the installation were very nice and professional. I was given a detailed description of the furnace, how often filters should be changed, etc. I was very happy with the professionalism and work done. Plan to use this company again for preventive maintenance.

The service turned out fine, however they had to cancel a couple of times before they finally came out. I disliked that. I asked them to get me a bid on a gas heater to hook up into my kitchen, but they did not get back to me with that one. What I liked about them was they changed a filter on our furnace, and didn't charge me for it. The interaction with them was fine. He did the inspection to my satisfaction.

Angie's List suggested JRB after I had an issue with another provider. Jeff (the owner) came on October 27 for the assessment. He arrived within the agreed time window and was very professional. He e-mailed the estimate to me that night. It was a significantly better price than the other provider had given me. JRB works with Crown Boilers of Philadelphia - USA made was a nice bonus. Work was scheduled for November 14 between 8AM and 5PM. The guys showed up RIGHT at 8AM. My husband stayed with them all day, talking and helping out when he could. It was significant to me that the guys from JRB never stopped working - they were talking and joking around with my husband and their coworkers WHILE doing their jobs. We bought them lunch which they didn't expect. They took all of the parts from the old boiler with them when they left for recycling. The guys totally cleaned up the basement before they left at almost exactly at 5PM. Before they left that day, they told us that because the water pressure in our house was too high (we knew this already) for the boiler to operate correctly that we would need to put in a pressure regulator and they would come back on Sunday (yes, Sunday) to make sure the boiler pressure was correct. We installed the pressure regulator and Jeff came on Sunday for the follow-up. I got multiple warranties from this service - 1 year warranty on equipment, a lifetime limited warranty on the heat exchanger (both from Crown), and a 5 year labor workmanship warranty from JRB. The company also offers a great maintenance service - once a year for as long as I own the house they will come out to service the boiler - for a $55 flat charge. I was really impressed by the professionalism of everyone I came in contact with, the work that was done and the equipment installed.

Everything went well. My husband was there and said the provider did a thorough job. Friendly and knowledgeable. We had a little problem w-our humidifier which was installed by S. Hills Electric a couple years ago. We contacted them and were promptly asked whether we had had other services done in the area of the humidifier, which we had. JRB had done the tuneup for winter season. S. Hills said they'd come out but their charge was $60 and perhaps we should contact JRB, implying they may have "caused the problem." Long story short, it seemed that S. Hills Electric didn't want to take responsibility for any aspect of their work, which has helped me to determine that I will not use them again. JRB was wonderful--said they stand behind their work, they came out the same day and the problem had nothing to do w-their work but they still did not charge us, suggested that we needed a plumber to snake the clogged drainage pipe from the humidifier to remedy the problem we were having. I highly recommend JRB--they were more than accommodating and didn't charge us for the call. I will use them consistently and again will recommend to friends and family. THANKS JRB!!!!! You know how to treat your customers!!

We ordered a pre-winter furnace tune-up deal for our two furnaces. JRB quickly responded and we were able to schedule an appointment. The day of the appointment, the technician arrived on time and quickly got to work. He told us that he had trouble getting one of the furnaces to start (it is approaching 20 years old and had not been used since the spring), but we have not had any trouble with either of the units since he visited. The deal included an air filter, but he pointed out the poor condition of the humidifier filter and was able to install a replacement at a reasonable cost. Overall it was a good experience and we will look to JRB in the spring time for an A/C tune-up.

The technician, Jake, was friendly, punctual, polite, and explained what work was being done and the overall condition of our furnace. He was going to replace the filter but didn't have the one for our furnace model. He kindly told me what filter I needed and that he would come back if I wanted or that I could just order the part online. I chose to just buy it myself, which saved me some money. He said it was easy to install and he showed and explained how it was to be done were I to choose to install it myself. A very nice experience overall. This was the first time I had the service but the price seemed quite reasonable when compared to some of the other companies selling the same service. I will most likely use this company again, assuming the price remains reasonable, because I was happy with the other aspects of my experience.

Left a message with JRB HVAC, called back promptly and scheduled service for a few days later. This was a rental property with 3 units, so JRB extended the annual service special to all three units. I reported that one furnace needed some troubleshooting and repair on one of the units. The service technician (Jeff) provided a 30 minute advance call, and arrived as scheduled. Jeff serviced all the furnaces, including reconnecting a drain hose and unsticking a regulator on two of the furnaces. The third furnace needed a new pressure regulator, which Jeff replaced. Everything went well, Jeff was neat, organized, and professional, and kept me informed every step of the way. All 3 furnaces are in service and ready for the winter. I am very pleased with the response and service provided by JRB Heating & Cooling, and will call again!

I researched heating and air conditioning companies on Angies List and found JBR. There were over 600 reviews and they received an A, so I made an appointment to have my furnace checked. I scheduled the time between 8 and 12 because my husband was working nights and and needed to get to sleep after the appointment, but they never showed up. When I called the company, I was told the time they had in their schedule was for the afternoon. I understand miscommunication occurs and when I spoke with Jeff, the owner, he was very apologetic and we rescheduled another appointment. The technician was to be there at 9 am on a particular day, but again, they never showed up. I was not very impressed with the company and wondered how they received such high marks. My husband called and spoke with Jeff again and he apologized and said he would make it right by us. We were not told what happened the second time, but he said he would check our furnace as a courtesy. Jeff came himself on the scheduled day and checked our furnace at no charge. He was very knowledgable and courteous and we would consider his company when we are in need of a new furnace.

JRB has been servicing my Goodman HVAC system since I bought my house in Sept. 2012. In March 2014, they replaced a broken ignitor, which went very well, setting up a service call within 24 hours. In early November 2014 while out of town, I received a call from my house sitter that there had been a brief power outage. The furnace had been running when the outage occurred, and it would not come back on. After running through some basics, my housesitter told me the ignitor was not coming on, which I found strange since it was new. I called JRB with some trepidation since I was away and I wondered how difficult it would be to set up service over the phone. Jeff was wonderful and arranged a service call where the technician Jake or he would contact me with the problem, solution, and replacement. It was found that there was an electrical lead that had melted causing a short that knocked out the ignitor. I authorized the repair...and then received the bad news about an hour later. Jake the tech went to replace the ignitor and found the heat exchanger was cracked. As Jeff explained to me later, the existing furnace was too large (100,000 BTU) for my little house (1100 sq.ft.). This meant that it short-cycled, running often for not very long each time. Well, every time a furnace runs the metal heat exchanger expands and contracts, which will eventually result in metal fatigue and failure. I had a choice: repair the old furnace for $1700 or replace it for less than twice that. Given the age of the furnace (12 years) and the efficiency (not real good), I decided the best option was to get a new furnace, and to have a whole house humidifier installed along with it. I told Jeff that I wanted another Goodman furnace, and he got back to me with an estimate THE SAME DAY. Keep in mind I was 300+ miles away and all of the communication was by email and phone. I did a bit of online research including contacting a friend who sells HVAC installations for a living and determined the estimate I received was very reasonable for the work involved. I gave Jeff the go-ahead and a deposit and we got an installation date scheduled - all of this while I was still out of town, because I was not about to stay in a house without heat with outside temps in the teens. Jeff had emailed me the day before with an arrival time, and I received a phone call that morning with an ETA. Jake arrived right on time, soon joined by helper Ian (I hope I spelled that correctly!), and got underway. Both Jake and Ian are extremely polite and personable and explained to me what they were doing whenever I popped down to the basement or when they needed to ask me something, although I tried to stay out of the way and let them do their job. They were quiet besides the necessary banging and hammering one needs to do to install a furnace; I didn't even notice them carrying out the old furnace and bringing in the new one. Jeff stopped by around half-way through the day to check in on the job and make sure I was a real person and not just a voice on the phone! He mentioned a bit of jerry-rigging that the previous house owner had done using the cut out panel from the old furnace as part of the air return duct work. He said it didn't effect anything, it just made the duct work a little crooked coming into the new furnace. He said he could replace the existing duct work and gave me a price on the spot, but I didn't need to do it and it would be more for appearances than anything else. I don't care that much about how something looks as long as it works correctly so I declined. There was no pressure. We exchanged a few more words about a service contract for future maintenance (at my request, once again, no pressure) and then Jeff left with good wishes. Jake and Ian started at 9 am and by 3 pm my new furnace was up and running, as they made sure to test it with my existing programmable thermostat. They finished installing the humidifier and cleaned up, then Jake ran over the basics of the furnace, humidifier, and exactly what work was performed, including running some new water, water drain, and gas lines and completely replacing the vent to the outside with new PVC. They left my basement floor cleaner than it was when they started! The job was over by 4 pm and the only tiny problem I had was that when they turned off the gas, the pilot light in the water heater went out, and they forgot to relight it or let me know, as I found out in the shower the next morning. It's not a big deal to me and I'm certainly not angry or upset over it. I think it probably never crossed their mind, either. The new furnace is extremely quiet and warm and I'm very happy with the way everything went. I have a lifetime heat exchanger warranty, a 10 year parts warranty, and a 5 year labor warranty. Jeff went out of his way to accommodate my special needs during this process and kept in touch every step of the way. I don't see myself ever going to anyone else for my HVAC needs.
