I do NOT recommend Joey Bernardo of IDR, LLC. I am sorry I ever hired him to build a small 2 story addition on my house. What was supposed to be a 2 month project turned into a year project followed by 20 months of lingering issues. The entire project has been nothing but frustration and disappointment of a project NOT well done. The major lingering issue is water leaks from 3 places which he has not fully addressed nor rectified: basement due to inadequate waterproofing and backfilling/grading, 2nd floor ceiling due to him not capping the old stack, and where flashing of the addition is pulling away from the main house (and the addition isn’t even 2 years old yet). This was confirmed by an independent roofer. He either is incompetent or he just doesn’t care, or likely both. He prioritized his own flipping projects over my paid project. His work is so low quality. He can’t paint, every surface was unevenly painting, and now the paint is already peeling in places. He can’t tile…the wall tiles are uneven and the floor tiles move. The shower floor slopes away from drain, so that water pools by the wall and never drains. He installed a broken light in a closet…I guess he thought I would not notice. He is non-responsive and when he does respond, nothing he says is true. And there is more…but you get the point.

These are very young men (ages 18-30). They don't have the maturity or the competence to do the work they think they can do. Most days they left the front door unlocked, and once they left the front door wide open (parallel to the wall) for the entire day. We have three cats, and a child. Any one one of them could have been lost, or killed, and anything could have been stolen. The interior walls aren't straight (they bow) and they blamed that on how drywall works. They accidentally drilled a hole in the side of the vanity, trying to install a hand towel bar, and covered it up with a wood filling that doesn't match the rest of the vanity. The shelving they custom made was irregularly cut and very wonky-looking. Granted, they agreed to refund some of the costs for this work and admitted that it had been beyond their abilities. All of the shelving will have to be removed and redone. They custom built and installed a vanity that probably should have been an inch less deep; they needed to shave down the door multiple times in order to make sure that it would even close. A small thing (like the extra drill hole in the vanity) and a big thing (like a door that only barely clears the vanity) shows that planning and taking good measurements didn't always happen. The entire project took about four months for a 100 sq. ft. bathroom and was expensive. All of these dudes should still be working for other people and learning their craft.
