I contacted Mr. Hoolahan on June 16th 2009 for an estimate on my roof because of the information I had received from a gentleman who had cleaned our gutters. He stated that we had some roofing and gutter problems that should be taken care of. Mr Hoolahan made an appointment to be at my home on the 18th as arranged thru our E-mails. He did a thorough inspection of the roof and promised to work up a proposal. True to his word, he came through with a proposal on the 22nd, again through E-Mail. Although he was the highest of all the bids I received, his was also the most comprehensive. As he came so highly recommended thru Angie's List, I hired him. He notified me that due to the unexptedly wet summer, he would not be able to do my work until the end of July and as a matter of fact called us to set up his work for the 3rd of August. He and his assistant showed up on schedule did the work and even added a cap to our chimney to keep rain and critters out. He had the garbage that was created by he work cleaned up and left at approximately 3:30 p.m. having been here either himself or his assistant from 8:00 a.m. Work done very well and totally professionaly.

The work scheduling was a little troublesome due in part to variable weather conditions. But the company representatives we dealt with were responsive, proactive and professional. Nice guys all. The work estimate was provided on time and it was very thourough. The owner worked with me on a final price. The work was finished quickly and they left no mess behind. After completion I inspected the work and found one item which they had overlooked. It only took one call to the company and a team came by the next day and took care of it.

About as painless as possible. I actually never even met with a member of the team. Paul visited my house while I was at work. He called me with his estimate and explained what needed to be done. Seemed very forthright and honest. The team showed up did the job quickly, and I barely noticed they were even at my house. I actually chose him based on his response to a customer complaint regarding an estimate. The response revealed two things. 1) he runs the business with high standards 2) he cares about his work. As far as the price goes, it was in-line with other estimates I received. I come from the "you get what you pay for school." I would rather spend a couple hundred extra dollars (which was not the case here) for quality work than go through the hassle of of fixing a botched project or dealing with an incompetent group. Job well done and no complaints.

Hoolahan is by far the best contractor that I have ever used. They were extremely professional. They took the time to clean up after themselves as well as doing cleaning some things that they did not leave. I was very impressed by them. They did very good quality work. I think that they were great!

Just before the winter last year, 2 pieces of fascia had fallen off my roof. I found Hoolahan on Angie's list and called to get an estimate on repairing the damage. I also wanted to know if the existing pieces could be re-used, how best to re-attach them, how to be sure they wouldn't fall again, etc. Paul was very nice and professional. I was delayed at work and he was able to investigate the problem before I got home and waited for me. The work was done promptly and cost exactly as much as estimated. He also explained in detail answers to all my questions.

I called Hoolahan Roofing & Remodeling based on the Angie's List recommendations. They were courteous, prompt, professional, and on target. Their worker was friendly & helpful. They cleaned up after the job and the roof looks as if they were never here! We've had much rain since the work was done and not a drop is coming in. The real test will come over the winter when we're back in the freeze-thaw cycle, but it appears the problems have been fixed.

I found the name on Angie's list, contacted him by email and he got back to me right away. Hoolihan came over and looked at our roof, gave me a verbal estimate. A couple of weeks later he called me the night before a roofer showed up. The roofer was nice, courteous and cleaned up after himself. He sent me an invoice by email and the price was right on with his estimate.

I got the name from Angie's List; called and left a message on a Saturday and my call was returned on Monday. Paul went to my house and then called again with an estimate. We discussed the job and his men managed to do the work between the rain on Friday. I never did meet anyone in person. The job looks perfect, and they really cleaned up well.

We ended up using another contractor who bid lower for this job, but we would definitely consider using Hoolahan Roofing in the future.

Very well, just way too much money.

We had a leak in a fairly new roof. This contractor examined the house and suggested a plausible remedy. He provided a prompt estimate and, although the job was delayed because of the weather, completed work quickly once the job was started.

I heard about him on Angie's List. He was great, terrific. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and it had to be done really quickly. He fulfilled these requirements. I remember the price being very reasonable. The project went really well. He was amazingly professional. It was in the middle of winter when I called him, and we kept having snowstorms. He kept checking in with me and calling about not being able to do work that day because of weather, but he would always reschedule. He was very professional with that situation.

Paul is exceptionally responsive and very professional. He provided a fair estimate for the chimney repairs and and provided high quality work for exactly the amount he quoted. I would definitely use him again and would refer him to everyone.

They were behind schedule, but Mr. Hoolahan always called to let me know, and when they did come, as he said they would, they worked through the days and into the evenings to finish the job. The guys were great, hard workers, who seemed to enjoy their work. I was really impressed with the quality of their work and them. After the job, they told me exactly what they did and gave me a report on the rest of the roof.

They were polite, nice, and friendly. They were on time. They cleaned up well. They were worked diligently.

He did a wonderful job and we were more than pleased with him. He was professional and knowledgeable. He was easy to work with and explained things well. I would highly recommend him.

Paul gave a competitive estimate, communicated quickly and did the job when and as promised.

The work was fine. They came when they said would. They wrote out the estimate of the cost and exactly what the work was that they were going to do. As far as I know the work is fine.

Hoolahan did a great job. They did the majority of the work approximately 3 weeks after we signed the contract. Our job was relatively small so they fit us in between larger projects. We were on vacation when they did the work (which was fine because they didn't need to get in the house for any reason) and, when we arrived home, the work was pretty much complete and everything was cleaned up. Paul seemed concerned that there might be some internal damage to our house when they removed the chimney (a brick could have fallen in the house) but there wasn't. We were very impressed with the way our roof looked after they removed the chimney - it's impossible to tell that there used to be a chimney there because they did such a great job of matching the shingles. They had to order a custom cap for our other chimney so that was not installed until a few weeks after the initial work was done. A couple of guys showed up one afternoon, put the cap on, and were out of here in under an hour.

My experience with them was very good. He showed up on time for the estimate. They came three days early to start the job after telling me, of course. They finished on time. There were some things that needed correcting and they took care of it.

Was the most expensive offer I got ($10,000 more than the cheapest offer)-I decided to go with an offer in the middle range.

When Hoolahan left, the place was very pristine. They left the area each day in a very neat and clean manner. Their actions were just as good as their words, meaning they did what they said they were going to do.

From start to finish, this was a very professional job. Paul's bid was not the lowest, but his professional approach from the beginning with the estimate made the difference in our selecting him. The crew worked hard from beginning to end. The work site was cleaned up every night. Even when Paul was out of town for a family event, the work proceeded smoothly. Our home was protected so that even when the rains occurred there was no problem. As we discovered some items that we had not considered at the beginning, they were added without a major increase in cost. We don't think we could have had a better experience.

Called to get an estimate for roofing and chimney work. Paul called within a day of my message. He came out within a week. He was very informative and up front on his prices and stated he may be more than others b/c he provides health care and insurance for his employees. He was very professional in his survey and needs to the job. I ended up using him for the chimney only b/c he had the best price. I went with someone else for the roofing strictly b/c of pricing and I was moving from this house. It had no reflection on his ability to do the job. I would have loved to have been able to hire him for both jobs. I feel he cares not only for the job but also for the people that works for him. He returned all messages promptly and worked to get the job done soon after my roof was done.

The owner, Paul Hoolahan, was hampered in responding because of continued rain and he needed several dry days in a row in order to fix a hole in the roof which had been missed previously by someone else. He called before he came, arrived promptly and while making the repair, noted that our gutters badly needed cleaning and completed that work, too, though it was unscheduled. He also repaired a flat roof on our second floor deck, and even returned the next day with matching paint. I would definitely rehire Mr. Hoolahan!
