Description of Work: We have cracks in our interior ceiling that we thought were due to leaks in the roof. They sent out an estimator who did a thorough job inspecting the roof and flashing and determined that the problem is not a leak - more likely settling. There was NO CHARGE. When we are ready to repair the cracks, we will definitely hire them for the job.

Description of Work: They were initially a bit difficult to contact & schedule but once on the job everything went well. We had a large roof that deteriorated over a 40-50 yr period and needed to be replaced. We got several estimates ranging from 28K-60K. The Hoolahan estimate was among the lowest and we had it increased to $30,700 in order to get a higher grade (Berkshire) shingle and copper flashing. We are pleased with the result and the house is now completely free of leaks and moisture despite a fairly complicated system of box gutters, stone work, etc. that had been difficult to seal in the past.

Description of Work: We called Hoolihan for an estimate to remove an unused stack in the roof that was leaking when it rained. We had called after an intense storm and they were quite busy and told us that they would not be able to do the work for 2 months. The problem wa not terribly serious and we decided to wait for them. They did call us to set ups a time to do the work, but bad weather intervened and it wa delayed for a few days. They did not need to come into the house and the work was done to our satisfaction. The office staff were polite and professional and kept us informed of when the work would be done. They removed the stack, repaired the hole in the wooden roof, used quality tar paper and shingles to match. They cleaned up after the work so that no one could tell any work was done. The interior repair appropriately was left to us.

Description of Work: We were experiencing a flashing problem and some other miscellaneous issues with our roof. What made the matter even more pressing was that our home was up for sale. We contacted Hoolahan Roofing and could not be more pleased with their response and subsequent service. The company responded to our inquiry in very short order and Paul visited our home shortly thereafter to quote the job. He was honest , polite and offered what we believe was an expert opinion on the situation. My wife told me that in all the 12- plus years we have been in the home that Hoolahan Roofing was simply the best contractor we have ever engaged. After accepting the bid, which was reasonable in our view, the job was scheduled promptly and the work completed as promised. We wish all of our experiences with contractors could be as professional as this. From service to price to the interaction we had with Paul and his office, nothing could have been better. We would recommend Hoolahan roofing without reservation. If you need roofing service, make them your first call.

 + -1 moreGreat. He came out within a couple of days to inspect the roof. He provided a quote a couple of days later. He estimated that his company could get to the roof in a couple of weeks. They were able to get to my house about a week later, and were done in about 3 days. Have hired Paul Hoolahan before, would hire him again.
Description of Work: Installed a new membrane roof over my existing flat roof. Applied a silver coating over the entire roof. Built up the built-in gutter to prevent in issue with water spilling over the gutter. Looks great and working well through two rain storms since it was installed.

 + 0 morePaul provided a good estimate of work to be done; whereas other roofers attempted to sell an entire new side roof, Paul asserted less-costly temporary repairs could be made allowing entire roof to be replaced at same time in the future. A delay that arose with another contractor doing work elsewhere on the house, and a large storm, pushed back the start date of this work. However, once work commenced, Paul's team quickly completed the job over two days. Additionally, Paul agreed to assume work as the general contractor on chimney repairs when previous arrangements for chimney repair were not able to be completed. Also, Paul communicated clearly and frequently regarding the timing of this work, which was important as other contractors (concrete, plumbing) were also doing work around the same time.
Description of Work: Re-nailed several loose shingles on main roof; cleaned out gutters where needed and repaired seams on main roof box gutters and front porch box gutters; scraped and painted valleys and chimney flashings; re-sealed seams on sunken section of back flat roof with cement and membrane; work also included hiring of subcontractor to grind out and re-point two main chimneys and to spot point chimney on back of house.

They came out very quickly, patched it up, and came back when the weather was right to do the final proper complete job.  + 0 morePaul Hoolahan is not the cheapest, but you get superior quality of work. One of the roofers that was working with him accidentally fell through the roof onto my chair. I thought that Paul was so good about the whole thing. He just told me to send him the bill for cleaning the chair with no questions asked. That showed me that he had great customer service.
Description of Work: Paul Hoolahan removed and replaced all the shingles on my three bedroom Victorian home. He installed new insulation underneath the roof as well.
