Ed was extremely thorough and provided us with a report at the end of the inspection, complete with 85 photos of what he had looked at.  As first time home buyers, we really appreciated his detailed assessment of the house and the tips he gave us to keep things in good shape.  He was also realistic, understanding that the 111 year old house that we are buying wouldn't be perfect and telling us what he thought would be a deal-breaker and what he thought was okay in a house of this age.  After the inspection was complete, he went above and beyond and made a second trip to the house on a Saturday to inspect a sump pump that had been hidden by the current owners junk.

The inspection was very informative and I was extremely pleased with the work the Mr. Lampl performed.  I feel he exceeded my expectations in providing me information about how the home and it's ancillary systems work.  Specifically, he did not shy away from taking a good look at some of the areas of the house, like getting onto the roof or climbing into the attic, and he was able to answer my questions in a way that I could understand being a first time home buyer.  He was very thorough and did not look over anything that could be a potential safety hazard for my family. My experience with Home Plus was outstanding.  Mr. Lampl showed up on time and took me through the house as he meticulously inspected it.  As we toured the house, Mr. Lampl explained in detail all of the problems he saw, and his recommended method of remedying the problems  At one point, Mr. Lampl noticed that some sort of release pipe was missing from the hot water heater.  With the home owner's permission, he went to his truck, got the appropriate pipe and fixed the problem---at no charge.  I never could have expected such dedication to ensuring my family's safety.  Mr. Lampl used voice recognition software to draft his report throughout the day.  As a result, he was able to email me the preliminary inspection (excluding mold and radon testing) while we were still in the house.  Moreover, Mr. Lampl took nearly 200 photographs of the home as he conducted his inspection, which he emailed to me and burned to a CD while we were still in the home.  The entire inspection process took about 6.5 hours, which only shows the care and thoroughness of his work.  In the end, I would highly recommend HomePlusIsUs to anyone who is moving.  Mr. Lampl's service was simply stellar.

My husband accompanied Ed for this service. Air and tape samples were done without incident and sent to the lab for processing. Ed went through the house with an infrared device to spot water sources, which my husband said was handy in various areas to show whether there was/was not water such as around windows. We received our lab results on the date promised. However, the report was simply lab numbers. There was no follow up on what the figures actually MEANT. My husband followed up by phone and was told the extremely high levels of some forms of mold were "no big deal." However, according to EPA and related reports, these are included in the small sub-set of toxic mold. Ed never followed up on my husband's request for advice regarding remediation. We wound up having a second inspection based on the lab results to determine whether we should or should not remediate. The recommendation was to do so. Then we worked with contracted with another company to do the remediation. Further, we were told by both companies the "tape test" was an absolute waste of our money and unnecessary.

I called Ed up based on the glowing reviews here and asked him if he could come out and test some suspect paint in our house for lead. He said he could do it but that honestly we shouldn't bother -- he said "I like revenue and everything, but I don't want to waste your time. Here's what you should do..." and gave simple instructions. He didn't know me, I've never met the guy, but he took time for free to help me out. I will certainly use him when it comes time to get my next home purchase inspected.

We are relocating from out of town so needed a Saturday appointment. Ed arrived on site before we did and had already started inspecting the roof. Despite the cold weather, he went over every detail on the outside of the house. He then moved inside and went over everything with a fine toothed comb, paying particular attention to mechanical and safety issues. He found several issues that needed quick attention, patiently described the situation and recommended action. Beyond that, he pointed out details and gave tips on maintenance and upkeep. Ed is a specialist in radon testing, which he did for us and mold testing (also a "Sick Building Syndrome Specialist"). Admirably, he told us that there was no evidence of mold in the house and a mold test was not necessary - it would only be for piece of mind. Had there been the slightest evidence, we would have done the test but Ed's honesty saved us about $300. The inspection took over four hours to complete because of his attention to detail.
