Great company, great experience. Had 2 jobs, 1) outside stair well and stairs, 20 driveway. Contacted for estimate in March/April 2021. Chris responded quickly and came out and provided estimate. Elected to have stairs completed first. Chris provided estimate and contract and an approximate start date. Communication was very good and Devito Concete came to complete job within original estimated time. Chris and staff were very pleasant very friendly and once the job started came ever day until job was down. Stairs fit perfectly within design of house which is more than 100 years old. The stairs are just great Stairs were completed in September/ October 2021 as expected. Called Chris again in April 2022, again contract established and Chris provided an approximate time frame for the job to begin, Actually they started earlier than expected and instead of just showing up, Chris called to see if they begin earlier The driveway was completed in August 2022 and really exceeded expectations and just looks spectacular!!! have had numerous compliments from neighbors family and friends and even delivery drivers have provided compliments. And again, the driveway fits in perfectly with a house that is more than 100 years old and greatly enhanced the curb appeal of my home
Description of Work: As stated above, project 1 was retaining wall and concrete stairs and job 2 was concrete driveway

Within three months I saw two cracks in the section of concrete by the backdoor. I waited until after the holiday to contact him so when it becomes spring and they start doing work again we would be at the top of their list to get it fixed. He said he would come out and he stated the cracks are not guaranteed in the contract. Now we have not heard from him. I would definitely not recommend this company.
Description of Work: He poured a walkway and did a section of concrete by the backdoor.

The experience was very good from the start. I called to get a quote and he came out the next day. Chris DeVito came out and walked both me and my wife through some different potential options and provided a quote of both option later that week. The pricing was competitive and we wanted to do the work but were worried about our existing stone wall so he came back out to look at it with us and we agreed to get an additional price to have it remover and relaid by them. That pricing was extremely reasonable so we added that in.Given all the disruption we decided to have the work done while we were out of town and gave Chris a temporary code to the garage where he could stack all the stone for the walls. We got daily updates from Chris on the progress and a neighbor sent us pictures of the progress. We came home to a brand new beautiful driveway and were really surprised to see how well the stone walls turned out. Very nice.We are very happy and the neighbors tell us the whole property looks newer.
Description of Work: I had my asphalt driveway replace with concrete paving. As part of the quote they had to remove and replace a low dry-stacked stone walls on either side of my my worn out asphalt driveway. After the stone walls were removed and neatly stacked in our garage the existing asphalt paving was removed. A new 4" grave base was place and compacted before pouring the new 5" thick reinforced concrete was poured. Expansion joints were placed every 16' and control joints were applyed to for 4'x4' pavers. They scheduled the work while we were out of town and called each day with updates.

They communicated pretty well. They were very professional and very nice people. They were here at my house around my kids and they were very personable to be around. It was a small job for them as they had big jobs but they were very communicative about that.
Description of Work: I used Chris Devito Contracting in August of last year. I had a side walk done.

I bought a house with a crumbling slanted driveway full of potholes and getting worse every year. I was thinking of replacing it, but wanted to get a number of estimates and opinions. I had 4 contractors out -- 2 to estimate asphalt and 2 concrete. Chris was knowledgeable, timely, and courteous. He gave me options, discussed the pros and cons of various approaches and advised me on what I might want to do for different problems. Of all the contractors, I chose Chris for those reasons. Further, his price was reasonable for the amount of work. Chris and his crew started right when they said they would, and he would call to update me on progress every day or two. There were a couple delays. One was because it took a long time to remove the old retaining wall, and Chris said he knew this might happen. The other was because they had another high priority job they needed to take care of. Overall, this delayed my project a number of days, but Chris was up front and communicative about all of the issues before and as they were happening. It really was not much of a bother. The crew was also nice and professional. Each day they would sweep up and leave the place in a state that my neighbors could still access their driveway. The work was also of high quality. I am very pleased with the driveway. I would (and have) recommended DeVito to others!
Description of Work: Replaced a concrete driveway with a new one, including removing and rebuilding a retaining wall with a new Versa-Lok wall.

We contacted Chris to come to our house, described the project, enabled him to get measurements, etc. to provide us an accurate estimate. He returned our calls promptly and showed up for the estimate when he said he would. It sounds trivial, but that was a difficult part of the process for us with other contractors. We had contractors come give us an estimate and then never heard from them again. Or the contractor gave us an estimate and then never returned our subsequent calls. Once Chris was awarded the business, he came to the house to sign contracts and provide a more detailed plan. We did not put a physical picture together with dimensions and we probably should have to eliminate any miscommunications. Chris and crew showed up every day at 7 AM, just like he said they would. Again, we have had problems with this in the past with other contractors showing up much later than they communicated. So this was definitely a plus for them. The first day was spent digging up the old driveway and framing and prepping the patio under the deck. The second day was pouring the patio and framing half of the garage pad, along with ripping up most of the remaining driveway. Wednesday was pouring half of the garage pad and framing the other half, along with half of the ramp. Thursday was pouring the second half of the garage pad and half of the ramp. Then they framed the final portion of the ramp. Friday came and the weather was undecided with a fair chance of rain. Chris made the call not to pour because if rain came, he would have had to cover with tarps and it would have caused the second half of the ramp to dry and look differently than the rest. We were completely OK with the delay to have the driveway match. They finished it on Monday. They used a decorative stamp at the entrance to the driveway to provide character and to give our driveway a different look than the other ones in the neighborhood. My wife did not like the way the driveway blended into the asphalt street. There was a bit of a lip into our driveway and it did not look finished. After talking with Chris, he sent two guys back on Tuesday to actually cut the the asphalt out and re-apply to eliminate the lip and to cover the concrete seam. The result was tremendous. It was exactly what we were looking for. The key to this piece is the asphalt work was not explicitly listed in the contract and could have easily been viewed as additional work because the street was not in Chris' control. He finished the job without asking for any more money and did not even want to collect his final payment until this was done. Very professional and actually wanting the customer to be happy!
Description of Work: We had them pour a patio underneath our deck and install a concrete driveway. They replaced an asphalt driveway with concrete and the patio was brand new. The patio was a rectangle with dimensions of The driveway has a ramp from the street down to the garage pad. The pad itself was 28'W by 26.5'L. The ramp was 14'W and 30'L. The total work time was 5 working days with an elapsed time of 7 days (Monday-Monday). We had to skip Friday due to weather, otherwise it would have been done in 5 days, which was right within the estimate we were given. We paid half up front at the start of the job and the second half when the job was finished and we were happy. There is a story on this below.

Chris was fine to deal with, but the job his worker did is terrible and he needs to take responsibility for it.
Description of Work: Firm was hired to repoint the two historic columns on the Wilkins end of our street. We had specified that the mortar had to match the pillars at the Dallas end of the street. The color did not match, and when I complained, I was told I had to wait til the mortar "matured" or "cured" to see the final color. He promised to finish the work on the second pillar the next year when the weather permitted. So I paid him for the work he purported to have finished ($1800 out of $5000 for complete job). He has never come back to finish the work, nor has he returned my phone calls. The mortar is also now cracking. The color of mortar on first pillar is all wrong; the mortar on the second pillar is three different colors. The pillars look terrible!
