Great experience. Pleasantly surprised. I wasn't going to call them initially as others on Angies list said they are more expensive. At one point, I decided to call them for a quote and the person I talked to said it would cost $100 for a quote, which could go towards future work. I think too many people were getting lots of quotes, and given the overflow of business from the winter's ice damage, it wasn't worth their time. I wasn't willing to pay $100 for a quote, but I decided to call them again a while later, and this time, they didn't say anything about a quote fee. They came out- very professional- and to my surprise, their quote was significantly less than anyone else, including Hoolahan Roofing and KC Contracting. I went with Burns & Scalo, and they did a great job. I would recommend them, and I would use them again if their price was competitive.

They were easy to deal with, they were professional and they did what they said they were going to do.

I could not find anyone who could recommend a roofer to me so I decided to join Angie's List and find one on my own with the site's help. This is my first experience with Angie's List. I looked up the roofers with honors and called this company. I called the company twice to get an estimate and did not receive a call back. I called again one last time and learned that since this is their busy season, estimates take longer to reply back to because there is a back-up of customers. Soo I decided to just have them come out and take care of my leaky roof instead of asking for just an estimate. The very next day Danny Smith and Jason Snyder came to my house and they were wonderful! They were professional, competent and worked in a timely fashion. They answered all of my questions and went above and beyond. They were kind...good guys! My fear was that I would be charged if not for a new roof that I might not need but that I would be overcharged, period. They explained where and what the problem was and the charge was appropriate for the time and work...very reasonable. (It was just one area of the roof that needed fixed.) What a relief!!! I would recommend this company and these 2 individuals to anyone. When I need to actually replace my entire roof, I will be calling on them again!

It went great. Two roof specialists arrived on time, did the work in exactly one half the time estimated by the person who gave us the price. Work was done neatly and well. Plus they were two nice guys.

This is the 2nd time we used them. Both times, I have had to call repeatedly to setup appointments and finish the work. The first job was replacing gutters. They showed up with the wrong color. This second time, they forgot to order the replacement tile. After the original estimate and signed contract, I had to call 3 times to setup the appointment. I've had to call again and again to see if the tile came in so they can finish. We may have incurred further damage due to their negligence. Last time I will use them.

Extremely good work. Very good communications and high quality repair. Might be the best roofers we've ever worked with. Will use again!

The Company never returned my call.

They never returned my calls. They never gave any type of window or received any acknowledgment of my calls in the first place. I was very annoyed by this.

The employee that I spoke with was professional and courteous. I am left to wonder, however, why someone should pay a business for the opportunity to do business with them. Since gutter replacement estimates are quick, it boggles the mind that there is a greater mark-up for a company in the service of estimate giving than in the service that they advertise for. I understand that there are many calls, these days, because of February's ice damage...but if there is too much business then just tell people that. DO NOT CAPTURE folks because of an estimate cost you require. Capture them through great prices and even better service. Yes, other service companies do this. Mechanics, etc...but the way to be the best is to be the clear choice...not the choice that is holding a non-refundable deposit.

They never returned our call for the estimate.

Arrived when expected, although work performed the following day. Professional and pleasant service technicians. Work performed was done to my satisfaction. The problem that I had involved the pricing and billing: I was quoted approx $250 by the service technician the day prior to the work being done; the intial bill came to $245.00 which was paid in full the day the work was performed. Approx 1 week later however I received a phone call and subsequently another bill, for an additional $150.00; the explanation being that the service technician was unaware of the additional fee for labor due to the emergency nature of the service call. The company and not the customer should be responsible for billing errors due to employee error and misinformation.

We got an estimate from them, and it was a good price. They told us we did not need an entire new roof, and recommended that we just repair the flat section of our roof that was leaking. We opted to only repair the flat portion, which we appreciated. The other companies would have replaced the entire roof, so we were happy to have Burns and Scalo?s suggestion. They did come unannounced because it was a small job and their schedule was tight. We were not here when they did the work, and we would have preferred to have been here. However, we were happy with them and appreciated their honesty.

They are very good. They are all nice to work with and I always receive good service.

Called on a Thurs. night after hours & left msg. Got a call back the next day and was told they could put me on the schedule to remove snow/ice from roof and gutters. $90 service charge plus $65 hr per man x 2 men. Was told the crew would call before they came out and that I did not need to be home (they would send me a bill). Crew called me on Monday to see if I still wanted them to come out. Were very professional and told me if it would take more than an hour they would call me (i told them i didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars). They called when they were done and said it only took 30 min and explained what they did. told me they would send the bill for $168.

They were timely and very efficient. The bid was right on. They were good people to work with. Their prices were comparable with everyone else.

So far, we've been very pleased. We liked the man who came out - we had a lot of issues and he was able to give us reasons why we were having them. The crew came out and performed the work and then they were gone.

Got a bid to me just shy of a week. It came in over 50% higher than a bid that I got from Coghill Roofing Co.

It should not take over one week to try and contact someone to arrange an estimate.

They responded quickly and came out on time. They did send a contribution to Catholic Charities in my name during the Christmas season. I like that they are tuned in to local charities. I would use them again.

The workers at Burns & Scalo inspected and fixed my roof and they were punctual about it. They did additional jobs and the quality was good. I plan to use them again in the future.

very well. They were very honest and polite. But on the high end cost of pricing and they let me know up front that they were not for us they do mostly commercial property.I was impressed with their honesty. I would tell people about them.
