Bob Pickur

This was our first experience using Bob Pickur as an electrician, and we were completely satisfied with every aspect of his work on our project. He came out to give us an estimate within a day or two of our first call. When he described how he would do the work, he was clear and professional, and his estimate was very reasonable.

Bob began the work on one of the hottest days of the summer, and he and his partner completed it in a single day. By the time I got back from work and opened the garage, a brand new breaker panel was staring at me, along with several new outlets. The job was done and power and A/C were already back on!

We have some additional electrical tasks that need to be done next, and we'll definitely be calling Bob to do them.

Incidentally, this was my first experience using Angie's List, so I'm happy to report that the membership fee has already been well worth it. We're relatively new to Pittsburgh, and it's hard to know who to trust. Bob Pickur definitely goes on the trusted list!

It went well. Bob did not charge us for the entire fee since he didn't really have to do any work. He was prompt in calling back and attending the appointment. We would definitely use him again if we had problem.

This is the second time that we have used Bob Pickur. Again, he was prompt, courteous and reasonably priced. He returned our call quickly and showed up to do the work within a few days. He came on time at 7:30 a.m. and completed the job within an hour. Before replacing the ceiling fan/light fixture he asked me if I wanted him to try and fix the existing ceiling fan/light fixture. I said yes and although it was not able to be fixed, I really appreciated that tried to save me money by repairing it instead of replacing it with a brand new one. Called Bob Pickur on a monday morning, he returned my call that very afternoon. I told him the problems we were having and he said he could come out the next day. Bob and his associate showed up on time, were very friendly and completed the work we needed in lightning fast time. I was totally blown away at the excellent service that we received. I say this because I had to call three other electricians and none returned my call. I guess they didn't need the work or did not care. I have dealt with many contractors over the years and I would hightly reccomend Bob Pickur.

The service was great. I called to get an estimate and my call was returned the same day. We scheduled a time for the estimate for the next day. Bob was on time got an estimate, gave me time frames and discussed possible options for the ceiling light. I originally had a chandelier in mind for dining room but Im currently using it as living room so Bob suggested not to hang it because it needs to be hung low for dining room but high for living room and without a table already positioned in the room it would be better to get a cheap ceiling mounted light for now so I'd have light in the room and then the chandelier could be hung once I got a table and was ready to use the room as a dining room. We scheduled for two days later with Bob calling the night before to comfirm. He left a message and I called back to confirm by leaving a message. Got home -no light. After trying Bob again at the office I realized I dialed the wrong number (twice) when confirming. We rescheduled and the work was completed while I was at work. Came home to clean work space and fixtures in working order. Super Happy-we have light! I called Bob to follow up about any concerns, to thank him and let him know I was pleased with the job- he indicated that that it's never easy (with old houses) but did not increase the estimate at all from what was quoted.

He showed up when he said he would and on time. He got the job done quickly and did not leave a mess. He did a good job and I would use him again.

We had a dining room chandelier installed that would consistently smell like something was burning. Original electrician took it back and exchanged it for another that did the same thing. Then he just said it was a bad chandelier, but wouldn't check out what was wrong with it. We really liked the fixture and didn't want to have to get a new one because we had had trouble finding one we liked. So, we hired another electrician to test it. He hung it in another location and said there was nothing wrong with it and eventually put it back up. He removed the dimmer switch because he said that was probably the problem. But it still smelled like ham especially after you put in a new bulb. We stopped using it and called Bob, who determined that indeed the sockets were burning because of the type of bulb we were using. He found the problem and gave us a stopgap solution for free. Then he came back and hung a new one and installed a new dimmer. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO FOUND THE PROBLEM!

BOB IS A TERRIFIC ELECTRICIAN AND A WONDERFUL GUY, VERY FAIR, THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE GIVEN ALL THAT HE DID, HE AND HIS PARTNER WERE ALWAYS ON TIME, CLEANED UP, THOUGHT OF THINGS WE HADN'T THOUGHT OF BUT WERE NEVER PUSHY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
