I hired Russ to fix lintels above my windows, refill any missing mortar on my house, mortar and replace cement cap on my chimney, remortar all window sills and door stoops, fix my cement porch, caulk above my garage door, and clean and paint an old awning on my side porch (which looks brand new now!). From start to finish, I have never had better service from any contractor!!! I am so happy with the job that he and his employees did. His employees were very meticulous with their work as was Russ. The masonry work done exceeded my expectations and has resulted in many compliments on my house. The crew worked hard, showed up early every day, and did excellent work. I had tuck pointing done on my cream colored stone house and the 85 year old stone was cleaned to remove years of poor air quality when the steel mills were operational. The result was the stone now looks like new and the color is beautifully restored.

This is an awesome company to do business with. We had a beam above our garage replaced and brick and mortar repaired. I couldnâ  t be happier with the job they did, and the fair pricing. My experience with American Restoration Services was totally positive, and I am looking forward to doing business with them again, in the near future. Shortly after I reached out to HomeAdvisor for recommendations for tuck pointing restoration of two chimneys, atop my two story duplex, I was contacted via email by Russ, from American Restoration Services. A few days later, Russ called me, and I invited him to come check out my situation and listen to my concerns. We struck a deal, on the spot. His estimate for the work I needed was quite reasonable, and I was impressed by his 50 years of experience doing this kind of work, and by his commitment and confidence that his crew could handle the job easily, and that it could be done nearly immediately. Russ's crew showed up at my house in mid afternoon, got quite a bit of the work done that very day, and committed to returning the following day to finish up. I was concerned, the next morning, when we were having widespread, light rain. But, around noon, the drizzle had moved out, and Russ's crew returned to finish the work. So, basically, they completed tuck-pointing my two smallish, rooftop chimneys, from start to finish, in about 6-7 hours. Nice job, too, as they showed me photographs of the finished work. Russ, and every member of his crew with whom I interacted were totally professional, and personable. The workers were obviously experienced and skilled. They performed like true professionals, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience interacting with them. Thank you, Russ, and your crew at American Restoration Services.

Project: Brick or Stone Tuck-Pointing These guys did a fantastic job! I had 5 window lentils replaced, re-pointed any needed bricks on the whole house including the chimney, chemically cleaned and sealed surfaces and caulked some roof flashing. They did extremely professional work, made sure I was completely satisfied with the job, went out of there way to take care of extra items when I asked and cleaned up everything before they left. On top of all that, they all were a great bunch of guys. Pleasant and courteous. I will be hiring them for future work such as resurfacing my garage and patio floors.

From the estimate given, the price when completed was 745 dollars more. The opening above glass block window open to the basement. Messy cleanup, debris was hidden under my steps. Killed 2 hosta plants, the owner did bring 2 new plants. Recycle bin was filled with mortar, had to throw away. Would not recommend it. Beware!

"The reason for the additional $745.00 was 245.00 in sales tax and $500.00 for additional brickwork she requested. She was well aware of the the additional charge because we had to revise the contract to reflect the additional work she requested. She signed the new agreement and we did the additional work. A little mortar came out around her basement window when removing the excess mortar and we forgot to fill in the little 3 inch gap with new mortar. We replaced over 75 brick above windows that were just laying there. We reset them all with new mortar and it was a pretty mess job. We could have been a little neater but we had a new guy we left to clean up and he was not the neatest guy in the world. I brought another guy up and brought her a few new plants that got trampled. Guys did a great job replacing the brick and matching the mortar. As for her recycle bin that got mortar on it. That small plastic box was so cracked we though she was throwing it away anyway. Those bins are free from the recycle company."

Was matched with American Restoration Services.Although they were busy because of homes damaged by summer extreme rain-owner Russell came to look at house and called me with estimate. He and his crew were professional & courteous. Work was done quickly and at a cost lower than I expected. I will recommend American Restoration to family and friends. Also a good first time experience using Home Avisor!

He was very condescending to me. He did not do the work but he had a guy name Charlie to do the work at my home. They did not tuck point all the brick I wanted done. He wanted paid in cash but I paid in money order and he never provided a receipt. He charged me over $1000. He was supposed to re-caulk/seal up the area (flashing) between the main house and the kitchen extension. I now have more water damage after their work than I had previously. After work was done he called me several times asking when I was going to go on HomeAdvisor and give him a 5 star review. I first told him that I would not give any review until he sealed the flashing and he promised to come over and finish it up but he has never called nor never shown up.

"This work was not performed by American Restoration Services and there was never a request for a review. This old dilapidated house was in need of a new roof, had 80 year old leaking windows, had an old addition that was not even properly attached to the original structure and needed to be completely repointed. When we gave her the analysis of what needed to be done, there was no way she could afford it. She was also getting water right through the brick near the downspout from the roof to the ground and water seepage where the addition was attached to the house. We gave her a price for that work and she still could not afford it so we referred her to a guy who used to work for us (Charlie) who did the work for her for less than half our price back in February for cash. I saw what he did some time later and he did an excellent job pointing the brick from the roof to the ground behind her downspout and caulking the flashing along the addition. This woman has issues with that old house other than the masonry. This woman also has other issues I am not going to talk about. It's always people who have the most screwed up unkept property that are unwilling, or do not have the means, to do what it takes to do the job correctly. These people will not spend a dime until there is a serious issue and then they want to do as little as possible to correct the problem. They then, of course, want to blame the contractor or person who did the work and tried to help them. I happened to speak with Charlie and he said she loved the job when he did it and never called him for anything else."
