"For over 50 years, Admiral Heating and Cooling has been serving the Pittsburgh area, as a family-owned business. We understand that a home is where we are meant to feel safe. We have built our business operating with integrity, and appreciate our life long customers who have come to expect that from us. We were appalled and disheartened to read this review of our company. In this case, we made every attempt to satisfy the customer, but were unable to come to an agreement. The reviews by the customer and her mother are factually incorrect, unjustified, and slanderous. The furnace was properly sized and installed in 2017; we did not hear anything from the homeowner until March of 2021. Although our company was not at fault in any way, the manufacturer, Lennox, offered a brand new furnace which would be installed for free; this was not acceptable to the homeowner and her mother. Our family-owned company prides itself on customer service and satisfaction by doing what is right for every customer. In this case, it is important to understand that because well over 3 years elapsed, we have no idea if the furnace was properly maintained. We promptly responded to the first and only call 3 years after the installation. We were never allowed back into the house by the homeowner or her mother. These unwarranted and baseless complaints filed by the homeowner and her mother, Ann Cipriani, are harming our family’s business and reputation. The Better Business Bureau has already reviewed this homeowner’s complaint and dismissed it. Admiral values the opportunity to continue to provide our HVAC solutions to Pittsburgh families. Sincerely, Steve Ubinger Admiral Heating & Cooling Co."
We were extremely clear at the time we visited their office on 5/13 that time was of the essence and that if we could not have it done by memorial day then we would need to look elsewhere. The provider assured us it was a strong possibility and if we could agree on a number they'd get it done. Provider came out on 5/14 while my wife was home and reviewed the situation. When I got home from work I was surprised to learn that he did not leave us an estimate of any kind. he had apparently said he'd work it up back at the office and drop it in the mailbox. I joked with my wife that I sure hope he doesn't mean actually mailing it to us. Friday came and went without any phone call or estimate. We called the shop on Saturday and were told that our technician was not in but that he'd call first thing Monday morning. Sure enough, he called and told my wife that he "dropped it in the mail" on Saturday and it should hopefully arrive this week! Keep in mind, I live about 0.2 miles from this place and would have gladly stopped by if they were too busy to actually physically drop it in my mailbox. I drove by their offices at least 4 times on Saturday in the course of running other errands. I am just baffled by their choice given the situation and certainly am cutting my losses and taking this as a sign that the provider either doesn't listen or doesn't want my business. I literally was not even going to shop this around and just accept if the bid was at all reasonable. Easy Money. Now, even if the estimate arrives and it is $20 I wouldn't do it.
I'm just amazed.
