The final result looks awesome. We had no idea our oak floor had this much potential. Excellent job! First, they taped up the kitchen and bathrooms, there was almost no dust in these areas after they were done. The first day (Monday) they sanded with a smaller sander around the edges and started filling in some of the holes and cracks with wood putty. They also prepared three smaller patches with color samples (neutral and two different stains - we decided to go with neutral). The second day (Tuesday) they brought in the big machine and rough sanded the entire floor area. They also filled in more holes and cracks. At this point there was a lot of dust on the windowsills, I was a little bit concerned, but they cleaned up very nicely when they were done. The third day (Wednesday) they scraped out the corners, did the fine finish sanding and put down the first coat of polyurethane. Three days later (Saturday) they came out to put down the second coat. We decided to go with glossy, rather than satin, because we grew up with glossy hardwood floors and shiny finish just "spoke to us". Monday morning we were walking on our beautiful new floor. They cleaned up after themselves really nice. They did warn us that there would be a little bit of scuffing of the baseboards. Well, I would call it more than just a little bit of scuffing (there was some minor damage to trim as high as knee level), but a little bit of touch-up paint fixed everything. The floors now look stunning. Beautiful old oak, all kinds of rich shades and intriguing patterns.

We didn't end up having any service done, but when I called for an estimate, it was a strange experience. They wanted to estimate the cost over the phone, but as I didn't have measurements and as this is for an insurance claim, I wanted everything to be done exactly and thus asked to have someone sent out. It's an understatement to suggest that this idea was met with resistance. Then, the representative asked me if we had pine floors, which we do. Once I affirmed that the floors are pine, the call ended very abruptly with a we can't help Goodbye. I totally understand not wanting to work with old pine floors but she was off the phone with no explanation in a disconcertingly short period of time. It just struck me as very rude and abrupt. I'm sure they do lovely work and maybe this was just an off day, but it was a jarring experience.

They were professional. They did high quality work, and cleaned up nicely after themselves. We are happy with the results.

We called them in April to set up an appointment; since we were remodeling a kitchen during the summer and the work had to be timed with the remodeling, we rescheduled twice, both times it was no problem (we were rescheduling for later in the year, not earlier). Sanding was performed on a Monday, with a first coat on Tuesday morning and a second coat on Thursday. They managed to sand off all the glue, and did a great job around the radiators and other difficult places. We had one spot about 6" by 24" that needed to be patched, and they patched it with nearly identical wood, the patch is invisible. They also patched several smaller holes in the floor. All in all, we're extremely happy with the resulting floor.

The estimate was on the phone. It was very competitive. I have gone with another contractor who gave an estimate in person.

Very good experience. The lady that answers the phone, Jo, was so pleasant - willing to answer all my questions. We had to reschedule due to painting not being completed when our scheduled date arrived - no problem- very willing to coordinate with the painters schedule. Workman were very professional - covered everything with heavy plastic to minimize dust. Floors are beautiful. Price was just as quoted. Great job for a very fair price.

The job they did on the floors was fine. They had to reschedule because they had had some kind of car accident or car trouble. The estimate they gave me was right on, even given I had tried to estimate the square footage over the phone. They were clear about what they would do when. The floors came out great. My only problem is that when they put plastic against the fireplace painted-brick to protect it from sawdust, they taped it on so that when they pulled the plastic sheeting off some of the paint came off too. They didn't seem too concerned about it, and I had even asked them about this beforehand and they said it wouldn't be a problem.

Dates were committed to and plans were made to be out of the house but as the week of the work came up, the company told me the dates were wrong. They never wrote out a contract and sent it.

Job was done professionally, and they were very attentive to detail; filling in the hundreds of nail holes in the floor, covering up key holes with tape to prevent dust from going into our other bedroom and bathroom, and cleaning everything after they were done. The floor looks great; there are a few dark spots due to water damage, but we expected that those areas could not be refinished. The only real downside was that we had to reserve them eight weeks in advance - I think they're well known as doing good work and are kept very busy.

I called and received an estimate over the phone. It seemed very reasonable and they had great reviews on this site. They weren't able to schedule the work for about another month and a half though. So I took that as a good sign that they were busy. The woman on the phone was very nice and answered all of my questions. They arrived on time and started sanding right away. It took 2 and a half days of sanding. They replaced some slates along the edges and took a lot of time to fill the gaps and nail heads with wood putty. They did an amazing job. Very clean and took great care to keep the dust down. I wouldn't even bother to call around and look somewhere else. I couldn't imagine another company doing a better job at a lower price.

It went very well. They were very good at containing the dust -- they put plastic over the entryways to ensure dust wouldn't get into other parts of the house. When they were finished, they even vacuumed in the radiators! I was impressed that there was no dust on the wall-to-wall carpet connecting the bedrooms. They were timely and professional. We were very impressed. Visitors always comment on the wonderful floors.

I was impressed by how promptly my initial call was returned. The visit to provide an estimate was scheduled right away and the visit was on time. The work was done on time, efficiently and with the least possible disruption to my household. The crew was polite and very easy to work with. The cost was exactly as estimated. The work is beautiful and the match with the existing floor is excellent. I would certainly recommend this company.

Jo, the woman who schedules the appointments was excellent. Always called when she said she would, and got me in before the holidays, which was very nice. The guys were on time, taped off the entire stairwell with plastic so NO DUST got into the rest of the house. They were able to sand the first day, then came back to stain and give one coat of sealer. Came back a few days later to seal again. Nice, polite, hardworking, and very good at what they do is how I would describe to everyone.

The phone salesperson, Jo, was knowledgeable and friendly. The workmen arrived on time and the job was completed on schedule. I asked the workmen if they could move my cable line which the cable company had drilled through the floor, right in front of a heating vent;I was thrilled that they were able to snake it through the baseboard and install the wall outlet that I had purchased for it (no additional charge). The patch work was exceptional. They used "old oak" for more prominent patches and "new oak" for ones in the corner, and filled in the cracks. They were very careful:very little dust and minimal scuffing of the baseboard.

As a residential architect, I have dealt with many companies. I would have to say that this family business is at the top of my list of recommendations. They were responsive when called for an initial quote. They were diligent about scheduling and even called on a non business day to confirm their prompt arrival the following day to apply the second coat and finishing touches to the fantastic work. They did a final clean after their work was complete as well. I was absolutely pleased with every aspect of their work. I hope everyone who uses them is as pleased as I am. I almost forgot.. their pricing is also very reasonable. Thanks gentleman, you have made our home a better place. P. Frederick Thomas

The work crew did a quality job, were professional and left a very clean home behind them. Unbeknownst to me, my floors were pine, not hardwood, and consequently were more difficult to sand evenly. The only glitch was that they didn't alert me to the fact that my non-hardwood floors would cost $200 more than the quote they had provided. Otherwise, my experience with them was problem-free.
