Barry was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He got a friend to help pull the old pump from 450ft depth. Conducted circuit continuity check to determine problem was grounded wire. When old pump (5 years old) was pulled it was apparent it needed replacing because of the rust around the enclosed motor. It was not a high quality stainless steel pump. Barry arrived as scheduled and worked through the afternoon and completed around 6pm. He tested the circuity and pump to ensure everything worked before he left. EXCELLENT JOB!!!!!! Bob S

Everything was well organized on his repair and it took about three to four days for the water to get back fully clear. I would use him again.

We recently purchased a house in Doylestown moving from Texas. We know NOTHING about water wells for houses. We were noticing significant changes in pressure from the faucets. Called a plumber (Mike Dillon-another AWESOME guy to know), and he gave us Barry Witzers phone number. Barry called back the same day, made an appointment for the next day, replaced a few quick gauges and a valve pipe (I think), and while I can't remember the exact charge, we thought it was very reasonable. He also talke us through life with a well, which helped a lot. High recommend this company!

Our well system began having issues, including a pump that would not shut off when it was supposed to, weak water pressure, and a fair amount of brown sediment in the water. I remembered Barry Witzer and his company from when I purchased the home in 2009. At the time, he came out to inspect the equipment and informed me that I should consider replacing the jet pump with a submersible. Given these recent issues, I decided that the time had come.
I received two estimates for the work, and Witzer was about half of what the other company wanted. There was no significant difference in the types of materials used, so I was happy to let Witzer take the work. He tried to do the job on Thursday or Friday, but due to inclement weather and commitments to other jobs, he was not able to come until Saturday. Luckily, we never lost water completely before he came, so we were able to continue living in the house.
Barry arrived with a helper at 9 AM and went to work right away, shutting off our water and digging up the well. It took about 6 hours to complete the job. When he was finished, he flushed out the well with a house for about an hour or so while cleaning up. I understand that flushing is necessary because chlorine is poured into the well to clean the water. When he was done, he gave me a summary of the new equipment in an easy to understand manner. He was kind and professional during the whole process.
After he left, the evidence of his work included a pile of dirt around the new wellhead, which, according to code, must be at least 12 inches above ground but ours currently appears to be somewhat higher than that. There were also some tire tracks from his truck on the side of my lawn. However, he did not disturb any trees or vegetation, some of which was in close proximity to the well.
He probably should have let the flushing process continue after he left. I continued to flush the well for a few hours on Saturday and a few on Sunday, until any remaining sediment had largely disappeared and the chlorine smell had diminished. We have had no other issues so far. Water pressure is certainly improved, as was promised with the switch from a jet pump to a submersible. I have not yet tested the water quality since the work was done, but we have had no issues with the water.
The work came with a one year labor guarantee and five year part guarantee on the pump and tank. Considering that my existing tank dated from 1987 and existing pump was the original one from the 1960s (both according to Barry), I expect this equipment to last a long time.

Barry was very nice and knowledgable. I did get a lower quote from another local well known company, but I liked Barry's personality better so I paid a little more and went with him. He was very thorough in explaining to me what he found with the existing well and what new parts he'd be using. He arrived right on time and was done the work relatively quickly. He spent time going over the operation of the new equipment. I would definitely recommend Barry.

Barry and his helper told me they would arrive between 9-10am. They were there at 9am on the dot. Barry did a few quick tests to see if we could make the old pump work but we were unable to get it to start. Given than it had been in the well, unused, for about 20 years, this didn't surprise anyone. Barry wrote out a proposal on the spot, I approved it, and they immediately started work. He had everything he needed on his truck. They were done shortly after lunch and I have a new irrigation well. Barry and his helper were both pleasant to work with and I couldn't be happier with their work.

Our well started behaving badly on August 4th and blew a fuse on the pump. We are new to the house and had no history on when it was installed or if there were water level issues with it. We had the pump running much more than usual as we had just landscaped the back yard. I called Witzer on the morning of August 4th after I replaced the fuse to no avail. They returned the call over lunch and planned for a visit on Friday afternoon. Barry arrived and quickly diagnosed that the pump or wiring was the culprit. Although it was late on Friday afternoon, Barry rearranged his remaining schedule and started to pull the pipe to get to the pump. Luckily he had the right size pump on his truck and sufficient pipe to replace the original steel that had several sections in bad shape. By 6PM the new pump, wiring, 200+ feet of new pipe along with a new controller box and pressure switch were in place tested and working. Turns out the pump was installed in 1984 and gave many years of good service. Its time had come. Barry was very through and methodically checked the possibilities before undertaking the pump pull. He gave me several alternatives to save money as we discussed how best to proceed. His well stocked truck and knowledge saved the day for a successful replacement. I recommend this company highly and my new backyard grass and plantings are happy that Barry was able to go the extra mile to help on a hot August afternoon.
