They were extremely responsive and acted professionally from beginning to end. I called them and they were out to give me a quote within a couple of days. They took the time to explain every aspect about the issue and the work. The work came in at a price I expected. I appreciated their honesty and how generally friendly they were to work with. The work was completed in such a way so the detector is barely noticeable and in a far corner of the house. I would not know it was running if I did not have the section detector installed on the line. The radon level is now 0.6, down from around 12, I feel much better about being in the basement, especially with kids now.

My husband and I recently bought a house on a short sale -- so it was "as is" condition. When we found out our Radon test failed and we would need a mitigation system, we had a tight budget and were worried we wouldn't be able to afford it. I got on Angies list and started looking and found Radon Rid right in Skippack. I gave Mark a call and he was out at our house the very next opportunity. He took a look at our basement and sent the estimate via email by the next morning. The estimate was fully broken out, very informative and reasonably priced. We scheduled the work for several weeks out (per my request, not due to Marks schedule). Before our scheduled date, we had a back up sump pump installed which changed the way our sump pit would need to be sealed and created a complicated challenge for Mark to work with. When I spoke to Mark about it on the phone, he said it would be difficult, but he was confident that he could make it work with a custom fitted cover. He had a very optimistic attitude and was determined to complete the job as promised. While I appreciated his optimism, I was less confident it could be completed and was nervous about what the changes would do to the estimate. Mark showed up the morning of our appointment and got right to work. From start to finish it took him just under 4 hours (which considering the amount of work he had to do, was quite impressive). Half way through he told me he had successfully built a custom lid to seal our sump while making sure both our primary and secondary pumps were able to continue functioning. I hesitantly asked how that would change the cost of the estimate and he said it would only be an additional $25 (what a pleasant surprise!). He cleaned up after himself & wore boot covers while he was in and out of the house. After he was finished he walked me through what he did and how the system works and exactly what I need to do to maintain it. He was able to install the system in our electrical panel closet so it's hidden in the finished basement.. He attached the warranty paperwork and his contact information directly to the system so I could always refer to it. He walked me through the post installation radon test (which is paid for by Radon Rid, but processed by an independent labratory). I can't say enough about my experience with Mark & Radon Rid. He was patient and informative as well as very professional. I would use him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to anyone!

I could not be more pleased. I sent an e-mail inquiry, got a phone call the next business day, and the work was scheduled for three days later. Marc was beyond courteous and pleasant. He sent the results on a Saturday, just hours after picking up the equipment. You couldn't ask for a better experience.

While expensive, Marc was prompt, courteous, and explained what would have to be done to bring our house into compliance so that we could complete the sale. He was able to install a radiation mitigation device in time to meet our agressive schedule. In the end, we had the system installed, a new radon test demonstrating that radon levels had been reduced from +17 pCi/l to a level less than 0.5 pCi/l all in time for us to close on our house. The plan and price they submitted seemed reasonable, but when I reviewed their warranty it appeared worthless and the vendor refused to change it. Here is why it appears worthless: the homeowner must test for radon within 30 days of completion of their work using their supplied kit. If radon levels don't go below the required limits they will come back to fix the problem, but the homeowner must pay all labor charges (which are unspecified and unlimited) as well as material charges for a new fan, if it is required. Radon Rid has no warranty liability for a whole list of reasons including inadequate sub-slab airflow, high water table or ground water presence. Even though Marc Marino agreed that my house, based on its relatively young age, would not have problems with inadequate sub-slab airflow and that there was no high water table or ground water problem, he was unwilling to remove this language. As it stands, If they don't perform the homeowner can't get all, or even part, of his money back. Instead, the only recourse is to use, and pay, them again!

I am a local Realtor who needed radon remediation work for a clients home. Marc responded to my call, and made an appointment to meet me for an estimate within just a few days. He went over the entire job, and provided a detailed estimate for my client the same day. He arrived on time the day of the job with all the necessary tools and materials. Marc completed the job, set up the system, and was able to answer any questions we had regarding follow up. The job was done with a minimum of upset to the house, and complete cleanup afterward. Marc is very professional about his work, and I will use him again whenever I need radon mitigation for a client.

Marc was highly professional and knowledgeable. He did a complete inspection of the basement, went over the details with us, and submitted an estimate within 2 days. The job was completed in 1 day, with no clean up on our part. We had been putting off this project for a year, because we didn't feel comfortable with the contractors. During Marc's first of two visits, he walked me through the procedure, carefully explaining the work involved. He was professional, and clearly explained everything. The same day, he emailed the estimate, which included a link to his website for detailed information on the technique. The day of installation, he arrived on time. I had another appointment and left him to do the work. I returned after he finished. When he says on his website that, "Our systems are professionally designed and installed to preserve the natural beauty of your home," he is absolutely dead on. His work is beautiful. The quality of his installation actually took my breath away. He left the place spotless. And what he installed is neat and well constructed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marc to anyone and everyone. Honestly, don't waste your time looking any further. His work is superb. His knowledge outstanding. Thank you, Marc Marino!

The house I purchased already had a radon-reduction system installed. The radon levels were just below the legal level, so the sellers weren't required to mitigate. The original installer was slow to respond, and gave us a large estimate for an extensive system expansion. Radon-Rid was friendly and very responsive. Marc discovered some hidden areas (under built-in bench and under laundry room platform) where the drainage system wasn't covered with concrete, and recommended that I have it patched (by a mason) to increase the suction of my system. He also gave me an estimate to seal a see-through cover over the sump, and to install a trap on the A/C line to gain more suction from the radon-removal system. I hired Marc to complete his recommendations. He gave me a test kit to use after the floor was patched. The plan was to try these improvements first. If unsuccessful, he recommended I extend the radon-reduction system into the crawl space. As it turned out, the second radon test was a bit higher; just high enough to invoke the warranty from the original installer. As a result, I had the original installer extend the radon system into the crawl space. I was grateful to Marc for his concerted effort to resolve our problem cost-effectively. He really knew his stuff, and I felt he genuinely cared about making our home safe. If the warranty hadn't been invoked, I would have had Radon-Rid expand the radon system.
