Universal Roofing and Contracting Inc. is a family owned and operated business. We are a Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey based roofing company with offices in Philadelphia and Cinnaminson, NJ. We have replaced, repaired and installed several thousand roofing systems. We are master installers and have worked with every type of roofing system. We are fully certified, insured and licensed in PA and New Jersey. Most of our work is in Southern New Jersey and the city of Philadelphia and surrounding metro Philadelphia areas. "As a family based company we take pride in customer satisfaction. The roof was inspected and due to the very poor condition of the roof, our company could not offer a repair. We like to be honest with our customers and if we think a repair is not going to work we will not charge you hundreds of dollars just to get the job. The cost of a new roof was out of your budget and you were not looking to replace your entire roof, due to cost. Again, due to the condition of your roof, a repair would not have been to your benefit it would have been like throwing money away. If a roof can be repaired we make every attempt to keep the costs low for homeowners and repair what we can. Certain situations and neglecting a roof for a long time, leads to only one option --replacement (that is not in everyone's case) however, that was the case here. Because we said we would not take your money attempt to make a repair that we knew would not work, you did not hire our company. We did not and could not tell you what you wanted to hear....that your roof was repairable. Sorry"

We also do a through inspection of the entire roof area. If the problem is something that we feel a repair will not fix, we will not suggest a repair just to get the job and waste homeowner's money. The check for validating the contract and down payment, was held until the work was completed.
A date was set for the work to be done. However, I did receive a call that morning, indicating that because of inclement weather, they could not begin. The next morning, Joe, appeared with the supplies and work crew.
The work was begun around 9 am and completed by 2:30 pm. The area was clean with no debri or indication that someone had removed roofing and decking.
The great thing, is that after a storm and rain, there are no more leaks!!!

Workers arrived on time and explained the work being performed and answered all questions we had. Very satisfied with the work completed and would highly recommend this company to family and friends.

The following day, I had an appointment with a gentleman by the name of Joe Fisher, who came out on time, and gave us a free inspection, and showed us how our roof was in bad shape. Mr Fisher was very knowledgable and informative. He laid out a few possible options for us in the various price ranges. Once Joe Fisher completed his Demo of the products, He asked us if we had any question. We asked a few questions and he answered each and every one.
Having had a few estimates before Universal, we decided that night to move forward with the work. Because of the condition of our existing roof, we requested that the guys get started as soon as possible. They were able to start the following day. The workers that came out, were very hard workers! The job site was contained and kept very clean through out the process. The Owner Jason Straub was by the house multiple times during the project to give us updates and look in on his workers. These guys finished the job inside of one day and the roof looks great, not to mention, no more leaks!
I have dealt with some horrible contractors in my life, but this experience has been a pleasure! I would recommend Universal Roofing in a heartbeat!
