Old City Movers

I was really impressed. From the first phone call, I felt like I was dealing with experienced professionals. They called a day before the move to confirm, and on the day of the move they touched base with me regarding how far away they were (because of rush hour traffic). As promised, 3 men arrived, and went promptly to work after I showed them what would be included in the move. They quietly did their job and only stopped to get clarification on what I wanted moved. We then drove to the storage unit for the remainer (which didn't take long). The unpacking went just as smooth also. I was really pleased with their work, I thought the price was good, they were very nice to do business with, and I would easily recommend them to family and friends. The move started at 845a and finished at about 11am.

Contacted the company 3 or 4 weeks prior to the move date, after reviewing their website information. Received an informative description of the moving services and felt comfortable enough to hire the company on first contact. The gentleman on the first contact phone call (John or Bill) described their moving business as a simple business that they strived to keep that way; picking things up at one location & taking them and placing them at another. I had researched via Google search and was amazed that I could find no negative reports or negative parts of reports on this company. The same was not true of other recognized companies. After my move was over, I understood why there were no negative comments. To come up with a negative comment, I'd have to lie. Old City Movers gave me the pricing up front and stuck to it at the end. The movers showed up on time, went right to work and took 0 breaks during the move, except to drive the truck to the new location. The workers were cooperative and pleasant, but were all business unless you interrupted them. It was a 90 degree, humid day, but the weather did not affect their performance. The effort of the movers (Pearce, Matt and Dan) was more than I expected to see.

The movers were wonderful - they confirmed the arrangements the day before by phone, and arrived 5 minutes early for their 8 AM appointment. They carefully shrink-wrapped all of the furniture that I was worried about (I collect some pieces that would be very hard to repair/replace), and got several large pieces of furniture down a narrow stairway without damaging a thing! Many of these things were a huge struggle to get into the apartment in the first place, but they carefully planned their strategy to get things down the stairs, and managed to have everything downstairs safely and so quickly that we ended up asking them to move several heavy boxes that we had planned to move ourselves. They were professional, careful with our belongings and very considerate - they did not leave a mess in either place. I would definitely hire them again!

They were amazing. We have used many movers in the past but none can hold a candle to these guys. They were quick, efficient & very courteous. They arrived on time, loaded up our 3-story brownstone (plus basement) in less than three hours. They were very careful with our furniture and our fragile stuff. They moved us into our new place and placed everything where I wanted and set up the furniture. All in all it was a perfect experience. I have moved (with movers) 4 times in 3 years and Old City was head and shoulders above the rest. No one likes to move, but the guys made it such a pleasant experience I hope to move again with them in the future! A++++
