"The call came in as a cracked cast iron heat exchanger, and normally a customer is entitled to ask how much a job my cost. However when you are dealing with a heating system rather it is steam, hot water or a hvac unit, it is many factors that determine the cost of such a job for example the age and type of piping material we will be removing from the heater in order to perform the change out, is it anything that went on in the space where the heater is located that caused it to fail? These are the issues that would required us to visually i spect the job, and unfortunately the potential customer did not want us to come out."
