I like Tony; I got him from reading your reviews. My air conditioner suddenly quit working. Tony came out and repaired it. Tony said there was something that he was going to come back and check on. Before he could get back with the part that he was checking on failed completely, so another guy came out and fixed it. I was surprised that the price was that low. I will continue to use them.
Description of Work: East Coast Comfort, Incorporated fixed my air conditioner. They replaced the dryer.

Tony was great! Did everything he promised and more?spent the time he needed to install properly. There was an issue with the delivery of the new furnace and Tony made sure the unit that was installed was at least as good as the one in the contract . They worked neatly and cleaned up, and communicated all along the way. We highly recommend East Coast Comfort and would use them again with hesitation.

You want integrity and people who are looking out for you and care then try East Coast Comfort. 6pm on one of the hottest day of the summer and water starts pouring out of the air conditioning return vent in the ceiling of my parent?s house. My Mother called me upset and crying. My Dad is 75 yo and a Liver transplant patient and my Mother has emphysema and a heart condition so I needed to get the Air conditioning fixed ASAP! I called East Coast Comfort at about 7pm and expected to leave a message to make an appointment; instead the owner answered and I explained the situation to him. His advice was ?You don?t need me the unit is frozen; let it defrost for a few hours, change the filter and you should be fine. If you still have a problem call me?. I did what he told me and the air is running fine with no water.

Naturally our air conditioning went out in the middle of a heat wave. I called ECC after reading their reviews and chose to wait the couple of days it was going to take for someone to come out and look at it, (recognizing that it was an incredibly busy time for HVAC companies). Once the technician arrived, the courteousness, professionalism, speed, and quality of service was absolutely outstanding. The technician was very considerate and friendly, he diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired it - explaining everything along the way. A terrific choice in service providers - I could not be happier - they are now in my list of contacts!

I've been using this company now for at least a year if not longer - found them on Angie's List, of course! They're great to deal with and very reasonable. They show up when they say they will, efficiently figure out what the problem is and then fix it, and inform you of exactly what they're doing. I'd highly recommend them to others.

I called a few days ago and spoke with the secretary who told me that I would probably not be seen for a few days because they were so busy with a premature heat wave. I set something up and she assured me that they would call me when he was on his way - and she did! The technician was on time, courteous, and was only in my basement for a short time. He showed me the fuse that he replaced and left me a spare, showing me where to use it if the problem recurs and further work is needed. I called another service prior to East Coast, and the owned said he would call back to set up a time, and I never even received a call That business, as well as others. should take a lesson from East Coast.

We bought an old, sorely-in-need-of-renovation, Philadelphia row-home. The house consisted of two units, with the first consisting of the first floor and "finished" basement. "Finished" in quotation marks because there was so much moisture and mold that the basement had to be completely gutted. And one of the reasons why there was so much mold was because there were no windows, and horrible ventilation. My wife and I noticed that there used to be two hopper windows on the left side of the house (if looking at the house from the street); but these hopper windows were blocked up and actually covered with duct work! Also the water heater and gas furnace were located in the middle of the left side wall of the basement in its own closet, making a tight space seem only that much tighter. As a result, we decided to relocate the entire HVAC system, starting with moving the Water Heater and Gas Furnace to the rear of the house, and remove the old duct work from the left side of the house and move it to the right side of the house (to make it possible to open up those hopper windows again). After calling around and getting a couple quotes, we decided to go with Tony and the rest of the ECC Team. When Tony came out to look at the job, he had great ideas on how to maximize the space in our basement for new duct work, including hiding duct work in between joists where necessary. Tony and his Team arrived to the job promptly and early. After the first day, he had the new gas furnace in place, and new duct work starting throughout the house (feeding into all the rooms on the first floor as well). However, I noticed that there was an opportunity to save about 8 inches of head space by moving the initial 15-foot run of duct work closer to the wall. Many a contractors would have tried to explain that it wouldn't be possible to make the adjustment, but Tony saw exactly what I was talking about and promised to make it happen on day 2. Needless to say, he was true to his word and the job turned out looking spectacular! By the end of day 2 the job was complete, including the new water heater and all service going to both the furnace and water heater (electrical/plumbing/gas), the UV Purification System, etc, etc. All and all, ECC has become our go-to guys for anything HVAC related. The only reason why this review is coming so late is that I haven't had the chance to sit down and actually do it (2012 was a blur of a year for both me and my wife). In fact, we've already called ECC out on a separate occasion to address the furnace in our tenants unit, but that's for another review. Overall, while ECC may be a little bit more expensive for the big jobs than some competitors, the VERY HIGH quality, professionalism, and shear amount of work and extras that ECC puts into its jobs makes ECC, in my opinion, the best value, hands down! I would DEFINITELY award to this contractor again, if given the opportunity.
Description of Work: Removed old duct work, ran new duct work in new location maximizing basement space; installed new gas furnace, case coil (for AC ready), and water heater, running new electrical and plumbing (including gas line); installed new thermostat; installed UV Light Air Purification System.

Called east coast left a message. Received a return call within two hours. Told them the problem with my heater and got an appointment for a tech to come out two days later. "They are my heroes!!" My husband and I have recently purchased an old home with no central A/C system in it. Since I am sensitive to indoor air quality, I wanted our ductwork to be well sealed and also properly insulated. Once you run your ductwork in your basement or attic and if your duct is not well sealed and airtight, air quality in your living space can change depending on the air quality of those space, not to mention about losing energy efficiency of the system. Also as I was not a big fan of Flex duct and fiber glass insulation, I was looking for alternative options. I am not a technical person but used to be in Energy Service industry for many years outside the US and knew at least what I should look for when it comes to hiring a HVAC contractor. I interviewed 7 contractors and received 7 proposals, 2 for the high velocity and 5 for conventional system. My indoor air quality consultant (I hired him separately for this project) did not recommend the high velocity system for my house. So I decided to go with conventional system. Out of 5 proposals for conventional system, I liked only 2, one from well-known big HVAC company and ECC. The former company has golden rules to ensure the highest quality of their service in the market and their warranty & return policy (Yes, 1 year return policy for equipment and ductwork !!) sounded too good to be true, however, their price was far beyond my budget. Here begins the story between ECC and me. ECC was the last contractor I interviewed. ECC seemed to be a small contractor but surprisingly had a great reputation at Angies and was BBB accredited (A+). I was curious. Ed came to my home on scheduled time and he was the only one who actually climbed the ladder and physically checked thorough inside our attic. He even took several pictures of our attic for me. (I should have not looked at the pictures though - deteriorated 30 to 40 years old insulation, piles of dust and debris, maybe unknown bacteria and hidden hazardous building material??? ? Later I ended up having our attic completely cleaned out by professional). Ed also found our attic door in the hallway had been left open for winter time and he closed it for me. He was not the most efficient guy in figuring out quickly where to run the duct work but he seemed to be the most reliable and honest person. He told me the possibility of exposed ductwork in the living area and obstacles. (Later Ed and project team ended up figuring out the way without resulting in any problem though !!) He emailed me a proposal with decent price which was within the range of my budget. Except for two proposals out of five, the highest and the lowest, Ed?s price was slightly lower than the other two but his equipment was better rated with higher efficiency. Great!!! Since I had so many (actually too many!!) questions about the system, especially for ductwork, Ed and I had to exchange numerous emails. He was patient and very responsive to my request & questions. Although we went though a little difficult time to settle our agreement/proposal at the end because I wanted to revise our proposal very specifically as I wanted it to be, after talking to Ed on the phone and a couple of more intensive emails, I trusted Ed's professional advice and accepted his last proposal. Happily signed the paper!!! Before signing the proposal, Ed made his second visit to my house with Tony and Jim to confirm how things would be done and to get more precise measurements. Ed spent a good amount of time with Tony to discuss things and explain him what my concerns are. It was also nice for me to get introduced to the project crew beforehand. Sometimes you first meet a nice representative, and then you are surprised to have total strangers knocking on your door on your project day! The beauty of working with ECC continued!! The project team led by Tony arrived on time every day. Tony, Jim, John and Jack were the most pleasant, professional, courteous and friendly people that I have met. The team was very well prepared and organized for the specification of the project and their teamwork was such a harmony. Especially Tony was one of the most dedicated people to their jobs that I have met and seemed to enjoy what he was doing (I hired 7 contractors and interviewed more than 50 contractors for the last five months for different jobs. There are less ?good? contractors out there). What they were doing here was not an easy task and most part of the work was challenging because of the nature of my special request. Their project took a whole week as scheduled, which is actually a couple of more days than ones other contractors proposed and the crew size was as twice as others. After observing closely what they have done, I realized that with shorter project time and smaller crew size, no one can do this kind of job PROPERLY. I would imagine their profit from this project was tight even though ECC runs on efficient operating system and small overhead. There are lots of contractors out there who are eager to finish one job quickly and jump onto the next paid job. ECC worked for five full days from Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm without even lunch break. I went through conversation session with Tony every morning. He gave instructions to his crew reflecting my concerns and requests. I felt that I was well informed of the details of the work throughout the project. On the last day, Ed joined the crew until the job was completed. Ed and Tony initiated checking everything with me on the site to ensure their job was completed according to the proposal. Ed and Tony took care of my extra special request for EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field) in running high voltage wires and performing current measurement. Everything went fine!!! I feel so lucky that I could find ECC through Angies and worked with Ed, Tony and their crew. ECC is a small contractor but they have first level of expertise, professionalism, customer service and plus good spirit. The project price seemed to be very competitive considering the quality of their service, equipment, and material they brought. Our Lennox high efficiency unit runs so quietly and our metal ductwork settled in my house beautifully. After the job was completed and the team left my house, I realized that our A/C system stopped working. I emailed Tony late night and got a call from Tony immediately. It was not something urgent for me though. The next morning which was Saturday; Ed came back and took care of everything nicely. It was a very minor error. I was a very demanding and micro-managing client. I am perfectionist, too - Not any contractor's favorite type, I guess! :) I spent a good amount of time for doing research on this project and met several contractors to look for right one! At last my experience with ECC exceeded my expectation, which means they are truly the best!!! I know they tried their best to meet my needs! I highly recommend ECC to anyone who is looking for a quality HVAC installation and service for reasonable price without hassle. I am looking forward to having them come back for another project in the future. I know I will be in good hands again! Thanks

Great! I would recommend ECC again and again. They are good, so you may have to wait a little bit to get the work completed, since they are in demand.
Description of Work: I initially found ECC through an Angie's List coupon for an AC checkup/ programmable thermostat upgrade. The service technician identified the problem and solved it on the spot. He also installed the programmable thermostat (which he didn't have the advertised one on his truck, but gave us a better one at no additional cost, instead). I then got a quote for a mini-split AC/Heat unit for our upgraded kitchen. It is a great unit for our space (quiet, easy to use). They installed it as directed and cleaned up after the job. Very professional.

First I found East Coast on angies and they gave me the angies discount for the service check. I liked them since they seemed reasonable and highly rated. When I scheduled them I hoped that I wasn't to far out of their service area. Ed the tech, called me on his way saying he was going to be a little bit late as I was bit farther out than they anticipated. After he arrived he said, I was a little far out for them in the future and they probably wouldn't be able to make it out again in the future. After talking to Ed, its a small crew and it was a lot of driving and totally understandable, Ed was great, very professional. He said if i needed a price on a unit they could come back for a bigger job. Anyway I am sad that they can't be my HVAC people as I was hoping to switch to them but I highly recommend them if they are near you.
