Jeff's crew was kind, timely, and professional. I had change my appointment from Sept to Nov due to me losing my job, and Jeff kept me posted. There was a single hiccup where Jeff forgot the attic cap (which is a 10 minute fix), but he came back promptly to help with that.

The after effects were FANTASTIC. The upstairs is no longer freezing in November nights. I'm excited to see what the summer brings as well. He did the following work:

Jeff's crew was timely, efficient, and clean (you'd never know they were in the house! Alligood is absolutely highly recommended by me.

Very professional, clean, and efficient work!  My only complaint was evidently a lack of communication between the team and the fellow who did the original analysis and estimate.  The team doing the work assumed the first guy did the "before" blower test.  Knowing that a test was required, it was a good thing I questioned this as soon as they started the actual work.  Otherwise, I would not have been pleased to not be able to see an actual measurement of improvement before and after.

Alligood did a nice job analyzing and confirming our attic issues.  In addition to recommending the replacement of HVAC return hoses and adding insulation, they also recommended sealing the attic floor around jousts, which contributes greatly to heat loss (I was not aware of this).  It was well worth the price.

Matt came in after I used a coupon for an energy audit on Angie's List. He set up the blower door and then walked me around using his thermal detector gun to show me specific areas that needed attention. I had mentioned that I wasn't interested in getting any major work done, only wanted to see if there were some DIY fixes I could do myself. After seeing the results of the blower door test, I knew my limits and later decided to have them do the brunt of the work.
I was able to do a lot of his suggestions myself, but had him come back in to air seal and insulate my attic, and also add a custom airtight cover for my whole house fan. 
The results were great. With the fixes I had done along with the attic sealing and fan cover that they did, I lowered my air infiltration substantially. Hopefully this translates into a more comfortable winter and lower oil bills!

Although not enough time has passed for us to see the results of their work( electric bill reduction, less use of oil etc. we expect positive results. They insulated and sealed the air leak areas in the basement and third floor, including crawl spaces, and neatly finished the areas where they blew insulation.

Alligood was selected out of a pool of four potential vendors.  Each were told I had a home energy audit conducted, only Gene from Alligood asked to review the findings.  He spent considerable time inspecting the attic and making sure his solution fit well with needs at hand.
On install day, Matt and team were very professional, careful to keep the house clean during and after install, and did an outstanding job completing the scope of work.

Matt Alligood and team were on time, courteous, and did a nice job describing my options.  The report they provide on where your house is losing energy was fast, and very helpful.  They also focused on making upgrades that would quickly pay themselves back in energy savings!  Prices were very reasonable.  I would definitely use Alligood Energy again!

Jeff, the coowner came out and performed the service. Be was very professional and thorough. He spent time going over everything he was doing, what that meant to me, and suggestions for improvement.I would HIGHLY reccomend this company.

First off they provide a through review of the current situation to give us an estimate of what needed to be done, explained where and why certain areas needed work. While Matt was here giving the estimate he even fixed a dryer vent issue (no charge).  They were much less than some of the larger outfits we got quotes from. I also prefer to hire small businesses. They showed up when they said, worked efficiently, quietly as possible (which was great since i work from home) cleaned everything up before they left. Afterwards I was provided a photo report of everything they did which was awesome since much of the work is now covered in insulation. The report was provided the same day of service and the estimate was provided that evening as well. It's great to get such prompt attention.  I would highly recommend Matt and his team.

It was great they were highly professional and friendly they walked me through everything and helped me understand the areas I have to work. I will definitely recommend these guys and will work them sometime soon on couple of recommendations.

It was great working with AlliGood Energy.  They reduced our exterior air flow by 56%...We had 3 companies come out, and these guys did it all for the best price.  They were positive and upbeat guys, really friendly, and did a great job.  Our home is over 100 years old.  It had a MAJOR draft problem in the basement, and only 2 inches of insulation in the attic spaces.  Our 2500 square foot home was FREEZING during our first winter here, and hot as h*** in August/September when we bought it.  The other companies who came out came up short in a couple of ways:  1) the first company was going to cut our ceilings up, but wouldn't patch them, 2) second company didn't do blown in, only spray foam, and they were more expensive than the other two.  AlliGood Energy were on budget, and they went through through roof, patched the roof, and installed vents to help with moisture.  

They only complaint I have is that they did not cover our belongings in the basement before cleaning the brick dust, which left our things dirty.  They did not clean up the brick dust all over the floors in the basement either, which killed our vacuum cleaner when we tried, and anything that was not covered properly has a sticky film on it.  When I contacted them about the mess they intoned that they'd pay for the cost of the vacuum, but there was no further follow up, only told me that I should have called and let them come back to clean up.

Overall, good guys, quality product, reliable, and friendly... just make sure they cover your things and clean up.

Our initial appointment with Alligood was sometime in February.  Matt and Jeff came out to our property to perform an energy audit.  The evaluation took about three hours and before they left, they gave us an evaluation of their findings along with recommendations for what could be done to help with the problems.  Some recommendations were things I could do on my own to reduce drafts/air leaks, and some recommendations were things they could provide as a service.  The cost of the audit was less than $100.
We opted for a few of their recommendations, and Matt was very flexible in finding a date that would work for us.  We were mostly concerned with adding additional insulation to the attic and replacing the baffles as this would help in the cold months as well as with hot summer months.  Matt, along with three of his crew members arrived that morning and the first thing they did was lay out covering to protect our floors and carpeting.  The work took about 6 hours to complete and then the crew cleaned everything up and vaccumed the floors.
 
They took us up to the attic to show us the finished product.  The crew had left and Matt has stuck around to perform an energy audit test out, where he would test the air leakage and thermal evalution.  Air leakage was reduced by 28% in the house, and he provided a very nice summary of the results along with detailed before & after photos.
We were very satisfied with their work and would gladly work with them again in the future.

Energy review was highly informative.  Jeff and Matt provided details on the best way to address energy savings overall and comfort issues in my home with an eye toward the "best bang for the buck".  They were right on!  My home is so much more comfortable and maintains temperature better than it ever has.  (about 29% improvement).  I wish I'd had this done years ago!
They are readily available to answer questions and address any concerns before and after the job.  Excellent team and the sub-contractors who do the insulation installation are highly responsive and experienced.  They provide great feedback and suggestions as well.  This was a large job and well performed.  I highly recommend Alligood Energy.

It went great. Matt and his employees showed up on March 9 at the time promised and installed the insulation, baffles and sealed off the leaky spots in a few hours. They vacuumed up insulation that had gotten on our second floor carpet and did a thorough job.
