They were not able to fix the issue in the first visit because they needed to order a part.. Once the part arrived the excellent service continued.

Michael showed up on time, walked right in, and found the problem within 5 seconds while I was still explaining what had happened.
There was a screw caught between the inner and outer tubs.
He checked the belt, which had incurred some damage since the inner tub couldn't spin due to friction, and said it should be replaced and he had the part in his van. It was $20, and the service charge to come out was $70. He also answered several questions I had and reassembled everything I had taken apart, and was finished in less than an hour. All told with tax & labor, the cost was $113, and I was grateful I didn't need to replace my entire unit.
I highly recommend AJ Appliance - I only took one star for price because while I felt the service was excellent, I also felt like I paid for it, which is fair, but not a deal. HOWEVER - it is completely worth it to me to pay a fair price for reliable service, without any sort of upselling or "extra" repairs.
Clean, knowledgeable, professional, courteous and prompt. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave an estimate. Issue was fixed within 45 minutes. So far so good.I did feel it was a bit pricey.
Replaced a fan motor which I priced same model on the internet for less than 20$. 45 minutes and 180$ later the issue was fixed. I feel that was a bit steep but it got the job done when I was in a bind.
We called to get an estimate for the service provided. The lady who answered phone asked me to provide the brand, model number and serial number of the dryer, and put me on hold. She then told me that the total charge for doing the job is $85. We accepted the rate and scheduled a date.
2. Surprised charge on service date:
The technician came on time and changed the opening direction of the dryer. But the cleaning job to clean the lint filter is not what I had expected that they would have tools to do a better job. But the technician did take out the part so that I can reach down to clean myself. While I was cleaning the filter itself, the technician answered my questions in regard to how to maintain the appliances. He is very knowledgeable. However, at the time of payment, he put down a charge of $110 plus tax instead of $85. He explained that $85 does not include any repair work, it is a standard service charge. I was surprised but feel that I should speak to the office directly to clarify on the over-charge.
3. Call to clarify the over-charge
It was a different person who answered phone when I called back. He said the $85 is a standard service charge for the service area, it covers only the technician come out to give an estimate of the job, they never give estimate over the phone because they do not know exactly how much the charge is until they see the job. When I mentioned that we've seen lower fees on Angie's List site for their services, he said they just raised rates last week. I wish they have explained how they charge when we first called. We would have had a chance to decide if we want to use their service. We are very displeased with the inconsistency between their estimate and the actual charge.
Conclusion
We view our overall experience with this service provider as C. Although they are responsive and punctual, and their technician is very knowledgeable, their inconsistency in pricing estimate and actual charge affect adversely on their service quality and professionalism.
