The project is/was a pool house for our backyard. It is a large project that still is not completed a year later because of Scott Schneider. He continuously held up the other contractors. We were putting an inground pool with patio, pool house and backyard sprinkler system. He was responsible for the storm water management system and pool house. The building was built larger than the approved plans, we now have to add an additional water management system. Placed the building 3 ft over the easement then blamed the engineer and inspectors but wouldn't call or communicate with them. Then had to tear it apart. For months left an open hole to my basement to bring the water supply outside, leading to flooding when there was a storm. He did show up same night to temporarily plug it but never properly sealed it despite my repeated requests to do so. In November '23 we withheld a payment when he started to install sheetrock when there were still no windows installed, the 20' folding door was not ordered, the siding and faux stone was not installed, and the gutters were not up yet. We worked it out and he agreed to finish the outside for the next payment. Then in April of '24 there was an explosive ending. We contacted other contractors to inspect the work completed, Both companies cited several incorrect building techniques that would quickly need repairing down the road. This had us questioning his finishing capabilities and if he had been skimping on materials to save money. We threw him off our property and off the job mid April. This guy had the audacity to say to my face that he withheld my windows and doors because he knew we wouldnt pay him for the job. All the while we tolerated his yelling at employees (he had a revolving door of people. Only his son and 1 other guy lasted through the year.) His constant disappearing for days and when they did show it was always after noon and all his snake oil slick talk about why things were being delayed This was the worst experience of our lives. He lied and gaslit us the entire time. He should not be a business owner. I dont know how he has been in business this long. This cant be stressed enough, do not let him talk you into a project with him. He does more talking than working, STAY AWAY FROM SCOTT SCHNIEDER under all circumstances.
