I would leverage them again to maintain my gutters.

This is how a contracting business should be run. I don't say that lightly, either.

I found that my top gutter was hanging halfway off. Waited a couple days for one company to call me back (I used them before), and since I was nervous about the gutter falling down I made a couple more calls on a Saturday morning. Charlie called me right back, and James was at my house within a couple hours. The other company I called had returned my call after 3 days and did come out on Saturday morning also. The gutter was twisted and needed to be replaced. The other company reviewed it and gave me a very high price, so I waited for Catalfano Brothers to come out, and their price for full replacement of gutters was much more reasonable. James was fabulous. He re-attached the gutter that was hanging, since it would be a few days for the new gutters to arrive. He was back out the following week and installed all new gutters, and the price was very reasonable. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Couldn't have been happier with their service, and I highly recommend.

Professional estimate and good response time.

They are absolutely top notch. They did a great job. The price was great as well. They cleaned up everything and everything was spotless. They did a big job and there were no problems.

During a storm last winter (2011) we lost one of our downspouts to wind, then, in me trying to find it, I stepped on it under the snow crushing it. My son is in construction and both he and my husband kept saying they would fix it, but they didn't get around to it. Then when I thought of fixing it myself, I realized that it was near an electrical line and decided to hire somebody. I called Catalfano Brothers and asked for an estimate on the gutter repair and to have the gutters cleaned--I don't think we have ever had them cleaned (YIKES). They asked when I would be home and I told them that they were free to stop by at their convenience and that I didn't need to be home. They came the same day and left a quote in the mailbox. No high pressure sale here -- which personally, I was thrilled about. I called back and told them YES and that there was no hurry, that they could fit us in at their convenience. Came home yesterday to a beautiful new downspot which has been anchored to the house - something we didn't previously have. They even reconnected another piece that we didn't realize was off. I should note that while the front gutter is only 1 story high, the two side gutters are almost three stories off the ground. We were NEVER going to go up and clean those ourselves!!! So that made the price very attractive. I had a great experience with this company and will definately keep them in mind for future jobs.

I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for this particular company on September 20. The email from Angie's List suggested that I contact the contractor to inform them of the purchase and to schedule a date to perform the service. So I contacted Charles, that same afternoon, via the number provided on the site. In speaking with him, he had no idea what "deal" I was talking about, and he had no understanding of any advertisements for his company on Angie's List website. So he took my name and number and said he would call to figure out what was going on and to get back in contact with me -- I never heard back from him. So I waited until the following week, September 26, and called Charles again. He assured me that he cleared up all of the details and now understood what had happened: According to Charles, his wife performs all of the on-line activities for his company, including setting up coupons, deals, etc. He had no specific knowledge of the advertisement details and needed to understand them with his wife. After the explanation and my agreement, we setup a date of September 28 for the work to be performed. The date worked perfectly for my family because we had an additional contractor over that day to perform some indoor and outdoor work at our property. The date came and went, with some slight passing showers in the day, and Catalfano Brothers did not call or show. Once again, I waited until the following week to give the contractor time to call and reschedule, etc. By October 3, they still had not called or showed up (we had four straight days of absolutely beautiful weather). I called Angie's List to file a complaint against the company and they asked if I could attempt to contact the contractor one last time. I called Charles again and he informed me that they did not come out due to the rain and he figured customers "would have known that". I informed him that I had electricians working outdoors all that day and the rain was not an issue, as it did not rain much or for any significant part of the day. He then told me that he had me scheduled to come out on October 5. Once again, I agreed on the date and time. I also told him that if his company did not expect to keep to an agreed-to appointment, to call his customer and inform them instead of having a no call/show scenario. His employee showed up at the agreed-upon time on October 5, in an unmarked mini van with a large ladder strapped to the roof. We briefly spoke about the work to be performed and he quickly got to work. The total time spent was about an hour to an hour and a half. The employee essentially used his hands, small tools, and a leaf blower to clear out debris from the gutters. He also hammered all of the gutter nails to ensure that they were secure to the roof. In having observed his work and not having a contractor perform this service prior, I would say that the gutters (from the ones I could see into) were in fact cleaned. However, I have concerns regarding the complete clearing of the downspouts and the methods used to clean the gutters -- Once again, this may be due my ignorance and not the job performed by the contractor. All-in-all, the contractor did the job I ordered and the price cannot be beat to be honest. However, I did not appreciate having to put as much effort and worry into getting the contractor on-site. I felt that the contractor lacked a great deal in professionalism and communicating with his clients. In the future I would feel better in hiring a different contractor to perform the service.

The downspout in the front , which wasn't clogged was clogged after the gutters were cleaned. I share this gutter as I'm in a twin and I got an ear full from my neighbor. I called and even offered to pay for the trip but they didn't come back to clean the downspout. Any body know a good gutter cleaner?

Well, take my ratings with a grain of salt I guess, but I was really soured by the experience. They called me at work and asked me if I was at home (without saying who they were). I asked who it was, and then they said they were the gutter cleaning people. I told them to call my wife because she takes care of the scheduling for stuff like that and they said, "Oh, 'cause we're going to be there in about 10 minutes." I know it was pre-paid because it was an Angie's List "Big Deal", but I really don't like it when people show up at my house unannounced (or with almost no warning). "We figured you didn't need to be home since we're just working on the outside." If had called me the previous day and asked me instead of assuming it would have been fine. It was the lack of professionalism that really bothered me. When they were done, they called my wife to let her. The gutters were clean when I got home, but I didn't see any evidence of repairs. Apparently they thought the gutters were in good condition (none of them were detached or anything, that's true), but there were definitely a few spots where we have dips in our gutters (and holes as a result of the dips) where I thought they might at least try to fix the dips. In any case, maybe the Big Deal drove too much volume which hurt the level of professionalism. I couldn't say for sure, but I can say that my experience was less than ideal.

They had a special through Angie's List, and came shortly after I bought the special and did the work very promptly and thoroughly.

I purchased a Big Deal, and attempted to schedule the service. Catalfano Brothers was apparently overwhelmed with the response , and did a poor job communicating and scheduling. I wanted the work completed before a summer storm.Over a four week period I made multiple calls and emails and could not secure a date. I ended up doing the work myself. I eventually requested a refund from Angies List. I received a prompt refund.

The original e-mail from Angie's list stated that we could use the service through December. Unfortunately, they did it in June when we did not want it. I assumed that the service would give us the option of choosing a date. They came and took care of it on a random date. They called beforehand, but they left a message with me. I was thus not able to confirm or alter the date. They then, apparently, showed up to do the work. When I did get through to them, they had already finished the work, so there was nothing I could do.

They came a day late, but they seemed to know what they were doing once they did arrive. They performed the work without any fuss. I haven’t been able to check the quality of the work myself, but I’m assuming everything is good.

We had a lot of trouble getting scheduled with them, and we had to contact Angie’s List directly in order for Catalfano Brothers to respond to our request. They did end up cleaning the gutters, but we didn’t receive any type of communication from them afterward, which I thought was odd. I would think they would have left a note or sent an email. I graded quality of work as not applicable because I haven’t thoroughly looked at the gutters since they completed work. Basically, I thought working with them was somewhat of hassle.

They showed up a day later than what they estimated. Only one gentleman arrived. He cleaned the gutters, but did absolutely nothing regarding the roof. I haven’t seen a report, nor have I heard from them since. The grade I giving for quality of work just reflects what they actually did.

I was very happy with their gutter cleaning and roof inspection service. They found some trouble with my barge board; it was rotten. Since I was so pleased with their initial work, I hired them to come back out and repair that as well.

The gentlemen who came were neat, clean, and prompt. They did a very good job, and I have no complaints whatsoever.

Overall, their service was good. The only thing I didn’t like is that we were not aware of when they were coming. My husband called them a few times to find out what day they’d be out, be we never received a clear answer. On the day they arrived, they called about twenty minutes beforehand, which surprised me because I wasn’t expecting them. I always like to be at my home when having work done. That being said, the workers were very cordial, professional, and easy to work with.

They arrived on time, and they did a very nice job. Everything went exactly as planned. In fact, I’m right in the middle of huge rainstorm at the moment, and the gutters are holding up quite well. So, I know their work is good.

The actual work they did with the gutters was good. Unfortunately, there were a few issues. I had asked them to clean a skylight, which they forgot to do. When I called the office about this, they assured me they would be back out to complete the job. However, they have yet to do this. Also, I encountered issues with scheduling.

Very professional and respectful. Job done quickly and took debris with them. I would definitely have them back.

They didn't do what they were supposed to do. My husband called them and they knocked on the door and told me they were here. They cleaned the gutters and left. They didn't tell me they were done. I really didn't have much of an interaction at all. It was a little frustrating. They did do the gutters so that worked out. I'm not sure when my husband had scheduled them to come so I don't know if they were punctual.

They got back to me right away, and were here within a week. They did an outstanding job. Would hire them again.

I contracted through Angies List for gutter and roof tune-up and gutter cleaning. Catafalno Brothers gave me a date of 6/8 and was told they would contact me that morning to let me know what time. They didn't call. I called them in the afternoon and was told they thought my address was in a different area and would come out the next Wednesday (6/15). On the evening before the second promised service date, I called Catalfano Brothers to confirm and they assured me they would come to my home on 6/15 around lunch time. I called them after 3 PM and was told they were on the way to my home. They never showed up and never called. I missed 2 days of work waiting for a service I never received. This is my second Angies List experience and I'm extremely disappointed. The best part of the experience was that Angies List gave me a refund very quickly and was extremely sympathetic. I called Catalfano Brothers on 6/16 to let them explain to me what happened and to give them one last opportunity to make things right. They didn't express and remorse for having inconvenienced me or desire to correct the problem.

. They were great. He returned my phone properly. They blowed the gutters after they did it. Two guys showed up so one guy was on the ladder and they used a bag to clean all the litter. They were really a delight to have. My home is a huge 3 storey 100 years old stone colonial house so the price they charge is not an exorbitant price at all. They are respectful, personable and reliable. I would use them in the future.
