Henry Velasquez stole $12k and never did any work. Don't pay upfront. Not a serious business. Henry is also not a certified plumber. He is using his minority company owners certificate, but that person, David B Hart will not do any job. David has been reprimanded by the Plumbers association for this in the past, but they keep getting away with it unfortunately

Fraudulent to the core - a shill for American Home Shield (AHS) warranty company. Called in an AHS claim for a broken water heater and the Clearflow plumber came in and fraudulently claimed that the heater failed due to excessive water pressure, thereby trying to invalidate my claim. he himself however claimed that the water pressure when measured at the heater itself was ok, but the outside faucet was out of range. AHS simply ignored anything I had to say. Why do you think AHS sends out Clearflow plumbers ? Now we know why - so that they can deny claims. But of course, out of the "goodness" of his "heart", he said he would still install a new heater for me for the great price of $1295 !! What a scam operation ! Stay well away from these frauds.
Response from Clear Flow Water Solutions LLC

"Since this job was assigned to us through an insurance company, we have to follow their protocols. For any water heater claim, we must submit a pressure reading from the outside of the home and at the unit (photos of the gauge readings must be submitted as well). It is up to the insurance company to approve or deny your claim, we are only the plumbing company who does the actual work and has no say in what your insurance contract covers. $1295 is actually lower than market value for a water heater/labor/installation/removal of old tank (check prices with other plumbing companies if you disagree), so we were trying to help you, sorry that you didn't feel that way."

Plumbing, Septic Tank Service
Clearflow water solutions was brought to our needs by our general contractor that we were using for repairs. Long story and much frustration with this company. They made a bid on replacing out septic system and doing some light plumbing around our property. Proper paperwork was never filed on their end for permits and what we were paying them for with a septic system replacement. After 8 months from our closing we still had no replacement of our septic. The prime time for septic replacement was already passed at this point. We made many calls to the office in the meantime and no return phone calls. Both my husband and I were yelled at by both owners. David was yelling on the phone at me from the first call and proceed to belittle and curse out my husband. When we confronted both owners about the lack of service they denied everything. David even denied ever talking to - I have phone records of him calling me! Was a conniving lying untrustworthy person! When we fired them they then proceeded to contact a lawyer and put a lien against our property and also a slander case as well since we had mentioned that we could never recommend them to anyone ever. They were paid for the few services that they performed. Their invoices always had incorrect items on them as well. They also proceed to charge us for a yearly business expense that allowed them to locate underground wires. It would be like a realtor charging each client for his yearly license!! Clearflow sold themselves being able to do something they were not. I do not recommend this company for any of your needs ever!

Dave came out. He insulted me and my husband. He refused to the job. He wouldn't quit. He was making me climb in to areas to find out which pipes he would need to move. He tried to get my husband to tear down an entire wall and he laid in to my husband when he didn't do it. He would ignore me and speak to my husband every time I would try to speak, even though I am the one who installed the bathroom. Woman will hate him. My husband asked him that he speak to me more respectfully. He then got in my husband's face. We ended up just asking him to leave.

Water Heater Service, Plumbing
$700

After Clear Flow Water Solutions did all of their work, which was contracted through American Home Shield, I had another plumber from Haller Enterprises come to evaluate what was done.

So, the evening of April 4 I went into the basement and saw that there was a leak and it seemed to be coming from the hot water heater. The heater was around 16 years old and I was expecting it to fail anytime. We called American Home Shield (AHS) and told them of the problem. They were prompt in getting back to me letting me know that a work order was in and Clear Flow Water Solutions (cfws) would be calling me as soon as possible. The leak was getting bigger and bigger, so I called the emergency on call number because I didn't want a flood in the basement. Never got a call back. Thank God for You Tube and a video on how to shut down the hot water heater. I was called the next morning by CFWS and told someone would be out and they were, prompt and timely. I was told that yes it was the heater and although they didn't have a 50 gallon tank with them, they should be able to take care of the issue the following day. Later that day, I got a call about the uncovered costs and that would be about $500. I expected some costs as AHS rarely covers everything. I had a question about the expansion tank being replaced as that alone was over $300 and I replaced it the year before. I was told that the hot water heater manufacturer required a new expansion tank because if there was a problem with the hot water heater, CFWS would be responsible for repairing and/or replacing the tank. I could see that, so no problem.

The next day, CFWS was out and installed the new hot water heater. The plumber, I believe his name is Mike, left the old expansion tank on the cold water line. No big deal, everything seemed to be working. 11 days later, the new hot water heater was leaking Saturday evening, quite a bit. I called AMS, they said I had to call CFWS and/or the manufacturer of the hot water heater. So I call CFWS main and emergency number 4 times each between 7 and 10 PM and one more call around 3-4 AM, left a messages at both the office and for "Dave," who I now assume is the owner/operator mentioned on their web site. No calls back at all, for what I call an emergency. Jose called the next morning, he said he saw the messages on the company machine and called me. He said he would be out right away and he was. He was at my house for a while trying to find the leak and wasn't able to. He checked the pressure in the hot water heater, it was 82 psi - too high for the heater and that could be causing the leak and maybe I needed a new pressure release valve (PRV) which is responsible for changing the high pressure from the outside of the house to the much lower operating pressure inside the house. He said lets wait and see what happens. He left his number and told me to call him if it happens again. Several days later, the hot water heater is leaking again so I am getting irritated. I called CFWS office and left a message and I called Jose, I left him a voice mail saying it was leaking and I called back a few minutes later to report a spike in the hot water temperature, and he answered. He said he would call the office in the morning to let them know about the problem as the next day, Friday the 22, was his day off. I got no calls at all. The weekend arrives, there is still a leak so I call "Dave" on the emergency line. This time he calls back, he is irritated too - I did leave a bit of a nasty message. He starts in with your PRV valve is bad, that's causing the leak, it needs to be replaced and the reason it hasn't been done is because AMS doesn't cover it and do I want to pay for it. Well, that was the first that I heard anything about getting it fixed and costs. I also thought while the PRV valve was the prime suspect, the cause of the leak was still unknown. So I said yes, please replace the valve and I was told someone would be out (this was a Saturday) between 1-5 pm. 6:30 (ish) rolls around, the guy calls to let me know that I am on his list but he still has jobs to do but running late. He added he is still planning on coming. He calls around 8:30, he is on his way but he is 40 or more minutes away. I am thinking he has been working all day it will be 9 or later before he even gets to my house, he is going to want to rush through the job to just get it done. So I ask can someone come Sunday. He said he will get back to me, he does and said yes that the guy will be out around 7:45 am. Sunday morning, 8:45 am rolls around and no call to let me know anyone is on their way. So I run to get coffee and a newspaper at the Sheetz less than 2 miles from my house. My wife calls me, the guy is there so I start driving home. He is done before I even get home. I think great, job done and he leaves. I go into the basement. I see on the main water line 2 PRV valves, the old one placed before the water meter and the new one placed after, and he left some part on the floor. Several days later, we developed another leak on a pipe that was worked on. CFWS sent a guy out right away. He found ice damage to the pipe that leads to the outside spigot and that's were the leak was coming from, not with any of the work the guy did on Sunday.

I called Haller Enterprises and scheduled a plumber to come and take a look at what's going on. Shane arrives and I show him everything. He did confirm that ice caused the pipe to break causing the last leak in the basement. When he looked at everything else, he stated he hates to say anything bad about what someone else does but what CFWS did, didn't make any sense. First, the new expansion tank. The setting for the pressure inside the tank wasn't changed from the factory setting and wasn't going to work with the house water pressure, maybe contribuiting to the leak the hot water heater was having (my question, not Shane's comment). Also, they left the original expansion tank which could be another source of a leak in the future. Second, the instillation. Galvanized pipe was used to attach the new expansion tank to the cold water line. I was told this isn't used much anymore in new homes as it's life isn't as long pipe made from other materials. But, he added that the tank will probably need to be replaced before the pipe has a problem. The pressure within the hot water heater was too high for the tanks normal operation, why wasn't this adjusted after the instillation. Third the PRV valve. I was told you only need one. Shane asked if the pressure on the old one was adjusted, I said no - he said that could have been tried before a new one was put in. After the 2nd PRV valve was put in, my water pressure dropped from 82 psi to barely 30 (measured by Haller). Quite a big difference and Kirk said, "You won't notice a difference." I was told by CFWS that the operating pressure for the hot water heater was 40-60 psi. With that big of a drop in pressure, it was like the water was trickling out of the faucets. Additionally, a dual check valve was removed to put the new PRV valve on the water line, thank God Kirk didn't clean up after himself. This valve is placed on your water line by the township so when outside the house water pressure drops, water from inside the house won't go back into the water line. This is required by the township. Shane added that this was all "cosmetic" and wouldn't affect how the plumbing works but didn't comment further on any issue arising from the dual check valve being removed. It cost $344 to clean up everything that was done.

Again, while these complaints are about "cosmetic" issues, I would like a plumber to work on my house like it's his or hers. I can't complain about cost (except for the work to fix things up) and AHS did pay the majority of the costs but I still paid and I expect the job to be done right the first time. I am sure that the guys at CFWS would not have done what they did if they were
Response from Clear Flow Water Solutions LLC

"I apologize that you feel that way about our company. In the event of an "emergency" we always arrive at the property within 24 hours, I believe we did the same for your case. I'm not going to speculate about the changes in water pressure at your home, we can not control that, but I would like to address the other issues. We, like every other company, are not perfect and sometimes make mistakes. However, we always fix our mistakes. Every time you called in with an issue, I made sure I sent out a tech within 24 hours (at no additional charge). The final call I received was very negative, accusing us of causing damage from improper installation. This was not the case, the pipes to the outdoor hose bib were freezer damaged, therefore, when the outdoor faucet was being used, it caused water damage and damaged the pipe connected in the basement. We would have no way of knowing that was the issue unless we tested the outdoor faucet previously. Every time we went out, it was to check our "work" as we were blamed for any existing or future issues that arose."

the first plumber was fine, he was a nice guy and seemed knowledgeable.  we got an estimate and were told that our home warranty service would pay for it all but I had to pay $100 deductible.  This is in July.  We are told to wait for them to call back with more information.  In OCTOBER we called back - tired of waiting.
They scheduled a plumber to fix it on a certain day and time, not saying anything about the preexisting condition not being covered under our warranty.  The day came, the guy was a nice guy, no complaints about him either, but when I got a surprise $300 bill, in addition to the $100.
We contacted the warranty company as both plumbers implied it was their fault that it took so long...but in reality Clear Water plumbing was at fault.
I don't know what is going on with this company but they are unprofessional and really need to get on their game.  I liked the plumbers, but geeze, get organized!
I was also told that putting epoxy around the bathtub spigot would fix the leak in our pantry.  (Spoiler: Its still leaking).
The two different plumbers were really nice, (even if one was wrong) I don't
know WHY they would sully themselves with this company, I feel bad for
them because they did nothing wrong really.
Whomever is in charge of the office, scheduling, communication, and billing is really terrible at their job(s).

While the plumber himself is professional, informative and knowledgeable, I had to leave several voice messages, send email, and ultimately contact him through the Angie's List messages to get a response when some items needed a return visit.
I purchased a deal from Angie's List, but never received any breakdown of the costs of actual repairs, so I am left to assume that what they did exactly covered the cost I had pre-paid.
I purchased parts & materials (faucets, sprayers, handles, etc) myself ahead of time since it is often problematic when working in an older (19th century) house.
An assistant replaced the kitchen faucet & sprayer, but I had to have them return to take care of one handle which came loose within the first few days of use.  The pop up in the downstairs bathroom sink that was replaced no longer works. I didn't realize until after they left that the faucet and handles I'd selected that were put on the upstairs bathroom sink render the pop up useless, so the drain is always open. The trap in the kitchen is fine, as is the basement shut off valve. I had also previously had them replace the outside faucet at the barn/garage and that worked well throughout the summer (another Angie's List deal.)
I was upset that, while installing the upstairs sink faucet and handles, that they didn't notice that the shut off valve was not completely turned off. Hence, when I went downstairs, I found water pouring out of the ceiling in the kitchen. I quickly told them & they shut it properly. Perhaps I am expecting too much, but I would have thought that they would take some responsibility since it was their error  that left 4 saturated ceiling tiles sagging and dripping onto the kitchen floor and island. Instead I was told to simply let them dry. I ended up spraying bleach above them, & propping them up with clothes poles for a full week as they slowly dried. They are still obviously lower than the surrounding tiles.

Water Heater Service, Plumbing

Horrible.  I was forwarded to this company by American Home Shield through a home warranty program.  They came out and assessed my problem and it was a broken water heater.  They got approved authorization to replace.  I had to call them to schedule.  Clear flow knew I had a senior citizen and young child in the residence.  I believe they would have pushed back my appointment which would have then put it over a week later.  However they came out.  I contacted the office to confirm pricing and make/model number for water heater.  I knew that Peco was offering rebates for energy efficient models and wanted to maximize my energy savings.  Clear flow provided me info on a Bradford White which was not the same dimensions as my broken heater.  I asked if there was another make and they advised they also had Lochinvar.  I asked what the difference was and they stated none.  I advised then to go to Lochinvar since I did not want to have plumbing moved and cut.  They provided the model number and I confirmed with PECO that it was an energy efficient model that was covered.
Install day came and the technician showed up with the wrong heater (Bradford).  I told them that was not what was agreed upon or confirmed.  He advised he would call his office.  I called American Home Shield.  The rep listened and advised she would call back.  The clear flow technician came back and advised I would have to accept the model or pay for a rescheduling fee.  I inquired why I would have to pay for their mistake of loading the wrong item for delivery.  The technician seemed to be caught between a rock and a hard place.  AHS had not called back so I called again and spoke to a different rep.  Went over the same info with the rep and now adding that I was being threatened with a reschedule fee.  She put me on hold and then I was hung up on.  The technician came back to me and advised me that I would not have to take the water heater or take a cash out.  I told him I did not want a cash out, since cash out do not cover unexpected items that may show up during install.  He advised that I would have to make a decision.  I tried calling again to American Home Shield and got a 3rd rep and I immediately asked for a supervisor and was told that they would not return a call for up to day.  So I had to get the install.
Response from Clear Flow Water Solutions LLC

"The customer refused a Lockinvar water heater due to reviews she found on this unit. She rspecifically requested a Bradford White, which is what she received, our entire office staff will attest to that. We brought the unit she requested, she changed her mind after our arrival. The installer explained we can't come back that same day with a different unit. After holding him up for almost an hour, she finally agreed to have him install the unit. The quality of our work should be rated not the brand of water heater."

This company responded and went right to work.  They did not need to fix the sink this was fixed by a visiting relative.  I am 84 and my wife of dementia is 82 and we cannot fix things ourselves anymore so we contract out.  They were great gentlemen and very respectful and went to work on the hose bib outside.  It was determined that a replacement was in order. The work was done and they cleared up after themselves and left.

Two days later one of my homecare aides noticed a noise and brought to my attention a leak down the wall and into our basement.  I called my case mgr and she called clear flow..they have would not come and help.  I had to get a neighbor to come and find a valve and shut off the water.  Monday they came and replaced the defective hose bib.  Now they will not pay the $300.00 it cost me to have my basement cleaned up.  This is not a big bill and should have been handled quickly.  The OWNER Christine accused me a 84 year old Korean War Vet of insurance fraud. This behavior is deplorable. I did not turn it into my ins co I assumed this company who saw a dry basement when they came and saw a wet one a few days later would take claim for their defective product.  Christine stated, "I am not responsible for a defective hose bib"..I need pictures and sworn statements from whoever saw that basement dry.  This is ridulous.  It was Her company tech who saw it dry when they got here and wet when they came back...  good, loyal, confident business owners take responsibilities for any damage they cause.

Now I have to hire someone to assist me to get this paperwork together to deliver to her company when she has all the answers at her disposal.  Again deplorable.

Response from Clear Flow Water Solutions LLC

"This homeowner had a leak, that is why they submitted a claim with their home warranty company. We arrived and fixed the leak. They called us back with another leak, we told them to shut off the water to prevent any damage until our arrival-they refused to do so. We went back out to fix the problem. I never spoke to the actual homeowner, but a caretaker who was trying to get our insurance information to remodel a basement that was damaged by water. I explained to her that our insurance is for damage caused while we're working on the property, not before or after we arrive. The basement was unfinished. She claimed that we caused mold, mold takes months to develop not days. Since they had an existing leak prior to our arrival, I can't assume liability. I highly suspect insurance fraud by this person."
