Ray'S Painting And Powerwashing

I am selling my mom's house, and though it was waterproofed some time ago, a bit of seepage began entering the basement this past June (rainiest in  history.)   I got a quote from a Waterproofer for two grand just for the walls.
Less than a mile from the house, I saw a sign by the side of the road (hand painted) and gave Ray a shot.  He looked at the basement the next day, and quoted me $1350 for both the walls AND the floor (latex for the floor) 
Though we cleaned the house pretty thoroughly, the basement had not really been swept or dusted since about 1960 or so. Though we moved what little we could (a few tables etc.)  it still looked like a mess.  Also, there were the typical plumbing, oil tank, cobwebbed window sills etc. that you would find in an unfinished basement.
When I went to look at the job this morning, I was stunned.  He had pained behind all the pipes and oil tank, made neat lines around the crusty windows, and even did a splendid job in the rough spots of the floor where the waterproofers had been sloppy.  It now looks like livable space.
I had paid half in advance, and gladly rounded up an extra $25 because I was so pleased with the work.  He did the job quickly (maybe two days) and completed before I expected.
He was so through, the floor paint was PERFECT even up to around the the wooden steps (his only exit.)   Not sure HOW he managed that.
Anyway, he was cordial. professional and turned out to be a true artist at his craft.  I would highly recommend him to anyone.
