Quote seemed fair. Estimate provided same day of service. We called to schedule our appointment, but we were told that the job would be completed in two weeks. 3 months went by with repeated phone calls, voicemails, visits to his office; but with no reply. As severals users have already mentioned, Chips has no common courtesy, serious lack in professionalism, and complete utter disrespect for the customer. Please save your time and money- look elsewhere!

Contacted on Saturday and received an email asking if Sunday afternoon was ok. I state no problem that I would be around all day. No show, no contact.
The F is for the lack of common courtesy to say and quot;I'm running behind and can't get to you todayand quot; but since today is Monday and I still haven't heard anything..... How hard is it to send an email. Oh well, RIcks here we come!

It went well. No bad wood and very little scrap. One time a got a cord of wood rom another supplier for about $185.00 and I must have had four trash barrels of scrap that was pure waste and a mess to clean up. You get what you pay for. Chip's wood is excellent and cut to about 18and quot; in length which is perfect for my wood stove. Only thing I can say is that I would have preferred the wood to be a little more seasoned, but I have a half cord from last year that I can burn first. I think another month of seasoning and we'll be good to go.
Next year I will have my wood delivered in September.
Delivery was right on time. I'll use agian for sure.

Two trees fell across our road during Hurricane Sandy and Paul Coy was out within an hour to clear the road. We scheduled more cleanup work for fallen trees and to take down dead trees for several days later. He and his crew were on time, very effective, and quite professional.
I am very satisfied and recommend his services without any reservations.

He's an odd character, but he seems to care about trees and not hurting them. He tries to do what's best for the trees. He's done a lot for us. He seems to care about what he does. He gets right back to you.

What a spectacle befell this neighborhood, twice, when CHIPS Tree Service came to tackle an enprmous
job. Originally I wanted 10 trees in the side yard, some 80 ft high, to be chopped down. We had another tree,
on the inside of the backyard that was bigger than all of the others that we hoped to chop down also but knew, that
tree would not only cost extra, but would require another trip. I had gotten 3 estimates on the 10 trees along
the side and they were 7 and $8000....and then CHIPS was, $3500. The only reason I would have not
gone with CHIPS was because the estimate was almost too unbelievable to be true.

Well---we went with CHIPS and, do not regret it!

From the 1st call to a very engaging receptionist,
(Bernadette), to the owner and in the field manager, Paul,
they couldn't have been more professional and nicer.
They had an army of all diff kinds of trucks and people descend upon my corner of the hood plus a huge crane.
For an entire day, they chopped away. AND----finished.
The landscape and view of the whole neighborhood was changed. Was the 1st time in probably 40 or 50
years there was a clear view.
What they did was so impressive, 2 of my neighbors came over and took pictures and then asked
Paul if they could have some of their big trees taken down.
CHIPS gave me another great estimate of the biggest of all those trees. The one in my backyard.
Was fat and highest of all of them. He gave me an estimate of $1200 and on top of that, $350 to ground 2
huge stumps down to dust.
They had to come back to do that job, and that was when my 2 neighbors got their trees chopped down too.
Once again, the neighborhood was filled with trucks and a big crane.

In the end, the cost was around $5000. Including taking down the giant ash tree in the backyard, and grounding 2 stumps.
I can just imagine what the other estimates,
(the 7 and a 8 thou estimates), would have been to include the huge ash tree and the grounding of 2 stumps over a yard wide in circumference.

The only reason I gave CHIPS a B in and quot;Responsivnessand quot; and and quot;Punctualityand quot;, were because, after giving the
initial and quot;okand quot;, to Bernadette... ...I got no warning.before they came. Either time. We were not in a hurry
and it was no problem but, I was caught unaware. In their defense...I didn't push the issue either. Like I
said---I was in no hurry.

Believe me when I say....
After my dealings with the last Landscaping co,
(CMI--posted in My Angie's List).---- CHIPS was a breath of fresh air.

DEFINITELY FELT THEY WERE NOT CLEAR WITH THEIR QUOTE. THE WORK I THOUGHT WOULD BE INCLUDED, WAS NOT DONE.
