About us
CURRENT UPDATE Hello Thank you for clicking on my Angies List Profile. I am back and still in business. The Covid thing has been trying. As noted below many things have changed. This is an update to that. I am back to me, responding, looking at, estimating and doing the work. Quite overwhelming for one person. Reputable help is extremely hard to come by. Because of that I can only get to so many a day, week and month. That has become a problem for some members here. I’d like to thank you for your understanding and do wish I could get back to each and every one of you in the time frame desired. I sadly am not meeting that demand. I encourage you to text and email me outside the Angie’s List app. When I sit here and scroll through the hundreds, I get lost in the madness. I’m now getting “F” ratings based on work I’ve never done and it’s gonna make my Angie’s list presence disappear. I personally don’t see that as a fair shake being that I’m completely upfront about how things go and are going with updates like this one. Thank you all and be safe. I still put out top notch work and will continue to do so even though I may go away in Angie’s list. *COVID 19 update. Hi folks and I continue to thank all of you clicking on my company for the work you desire. We have always provided the best possible service we could, based upon the understanding, the goals and end product desired,by everyone of our customers. For ten years now ( Goodmudders officially started in 2010). This turned out to be the approach so so many of you wanted in a company you hire. I kind of expected that, to be honest. In fact,it was the image we chased. What I didn’t expect that is that so many of you had a hard time finding some who could do what I couldn’t do at the time. So many of you have waited, delayed and made your schedule around us!!! That’s amazing and truly something I would have never of seen coming. What that did though was put an extremely high demand upon us. The requests became never ending. I want to apologize for not getting back to those that reached out, did their best to contact us in the exact ways as anyone would. I had an absolute goal in the beginning of all this to never leave anyone hanging. I sadly could not keep up. Things went well for us. We adapted and absorbed all the bumps and bruises that came with growing. We used that to refine our ways. That’s until this recent ”new normal” we now ALL live with. Being in a small business and I personally handle the business side and communication side of this, when school was canceled for me and my family that squarely landed upon my shoulders. My wife is a nurse and her schedule could not change,so mine had to. There is so very much that change effects. My time is no longer doing estimates and defining scope of work it became digging in deep to learning elementary school all over again ( getting up to speed really) on how to home school my kids. This wiped me out to be completely honest. It will get better, I know but that became an overreaching reason for applying my time to other than Goodmudders. I’m not an essential business. Even if I was an essential business what I can do is limited. The amount of full days, and all over the map “times that i can” is a the new reality I find myself in. Another compounding factor is, its not just me. The ones I call on to help in this whole Goodmudders thing are pivoting their lives as well. It’s come down to me, what I can do and when I can do it. If you’re still with me after all the above, I hope you appreciate what I’m about to say. Building this Goodmudders thing is something I always and still do believe in. I was just a kid with ambition when this thing started. It came from nothing and was made into something. I have no plans of letting go and going out of business. I’m tried though, like never before. It’s almost gonna be a restart, in a different time, when this is over and a new wa

While doing the work, Donny and/or his crew had me inspect their work every step of the way before continuing. When they removed the damaged plaster living room wall, they showed me where the framing was rotted out from the water damage and identified the leak around the chimney. They were able to provide me with another reasonable estimate for that additional work - which also included removing and replacing some of the exterior siding. They removed all the window/floor molding and an oak fireplace mantle before installing the drywall. The woodwork and mantle were replaced perfectly and the new drywall looks perfect.
Beyond the crew's professionalism and friendliness, I was impressed with their respect for my house/belongings and their attention to keeping the construction mess confined. There was absolutely no dust ever in the rest of the house and the affected areas were left cleaner than when work started.
Over the years of owning this house, there have been additions built, kitchen and bathroom remodels, etc. I've never been as pleased with any of the work as I have been with Goodmudders. They actually left me wishing that I had more work for them to do!
When Donny and his crew arrived to do the work, we had a discussion about re-routing the wall so that it would no longer be underneath the pan. There were a few other obstacles too (e.g., a pole supporting the I-beam for the floor support). He and his guys figured out a way to rebuild the wall so that we would have no problems with condensation in the future. It is worth mentioning that they had to go out for additional materials, etc. since they would be building two perpendicular walls rather than one. Donny charged me an additional $250 for the work, which I found extremely reasonable.
His guys worked the whole day (and into the evening) very efficiently. They hung drywall on the newly framed walls and textured them to match the existing basement walls. The work was EXTREMELY professional and it looks absolutely perfect. We could not have asked for a better job. The rehung our trim and cleaned up very well.
There is no doubt in our minds that we will call Goodmudders the next time we need any framing or drywall work to be done. We are considering finishing our basement, and they will certainly be the first choice for the job. It is worth mentioning that these guys take a lot of pride in their work. Both of the co-owners have years of experience doing drywall jobs, and it shows. It was refreshing to see contractors who actually take a great deal of pride in their work -- they were all perfectionists!
Throughout the entire job he went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I have never had a contractor as good as Good Mudders, you won't be disappointed!
Once we agreed on a start date, they were VERY punctual each day. They finished on-time and without any extra charges. They are very professional and we would definitely use them again and would refer them.
Goodmudders exceeded my expectations. They found some additional damage and replaced the drywall and hardcoated the entire area. Very professional and stayed until the job was complete. When job was finished they thoroughly cleaned all areas.
Reliable, Honest, Quality workmanship. Real professionals. I highly recommend the Goodmudders team.
Donny came out on the weekend for a quote, just to accomodate my schedule. He provided a ROM estimate on the spot after reviewing my work, then he promptly emailed me a formal estimate later that night. The estimate was very thorough and well thought out; it included details on all work to be performed and cost of materials in addition to their planned start date, which they were able to start that following Monday!
The guys showed up Monday morning on time as agreed and set right to work. They placed drop cloths around the house where they worked to protect floor and were careful not to damage any existing work. I could not take time off so my father supervised; whenever there was a question of how handle a given area, Donny or Mark would ask my father who would relate the question to me before performing the task.
As the work was quoted as a three-day job, the guys returned each of Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively on time and got the job done! There were never delays, excuses, or any other reason to doubt their professionalism.
As far as the work quality itself, I have few and far between concerns. The seams appear to be very well hidden (I haven't finished painting all of the surfaces, yet), and corner joints/beads were well formed. I'll note mine is a ~90 year old house in Dormont with non-plumb, non-square walls, and my hang job was probably less than stellar. I had a few spots here and there that I've sanded or touched up with mud, but in general I have no complaints and have already recommended them to a co-worker considering some basement/garage work.
In my brief experience with contractor work, thus far, Donny and Mark are some of the best!
Goodmudders finished their job after 3 trips, as expected. They did great work - we waited until we painted to put in this review, just to make sure. Absolutely no problem areas or complaints. These guys did an amazing job cleaning up after themselves - I'm sure it was cleaner when they finished than when they started. And they did a great job of sealing off their work areas during sanding to make sure my house didn't get coated in dust.
These guys are friendly, professional, and didn't disrupt our house in anyway (I am a stay at home mom with 3 little kids). They're family guys, just like us.
We are very happy with the work Goodmudders did and believe it was well worth the money spent.
