They came out right after I called them. They showed up on time. They would not give me an estimate for cleaning out my sewer drain, instead they told me that I needed to replace my entire sewer pipe. They gave me an estimate for eight thousand dollars to replace the pipe. They told me that once they replaced the pipe they could send a camera down to see what was blocking my drain. They told me that then they could see what the actual problem was and then they could see what it would take to correct the problem. When the gentleman left he told me to call him when I wanted to have the work done. I ended up replacing the pipe by myself and it took me all of an hour and cost me about sixty dollars. About two weeks later they called me to see if I wanted to have the work done. I think that their prices are outrageous!

Roto Rooter's worker was very professional and clean. He called to let me know he was going to be about 15 minutes late. They laid out the prices before hand and there were no hidden charges.

Roto Rooter has done a lot of work for me in the past and they have always been great. They always explain things to me. I had a leak at ten o'clock at night so I had to turn the main water line off. I called Roto Rooter and they were at my house first thing in the morning. They never talk down to me and they have never disappointed me.

They were flexible and worked with us. The person who came out was punctual, cleaned up after himself and did a good job. One thing I liked about them was that they didn't mind the fact that I had bought the sinks ahead of time, and they didn't come in and say that I should have bought the sinks from them. We have used them before and we will use them in the future.

They were the second estimate for a complex drain problem in our basement. The technician was knowledge and seemed genuinely interested in solving the problem. He got to the clog and fixed it.

They were really prompt. They got here when they said they would. We called on a weeknight and they showed up the next morning. My only problem was I thought they were pricey.

I called this company because this company works weekends and evenings. The name has a good reputation. The technician was pleasant to deal with and hard working. He got the job done.

They did not tell me up front of how much it was going to cost. I thought they were too expensive. They spent less than an hour & it cost like 190 dollars, which is a little too much.

When I got the bill it was 165 dollars, so I called and told him that that was not the price he quoted me. He said he had a coupon and then I payed 135 dollars. He fixed the one trap I called about and he was very nice and personable. Later I checked the other traps, which were the same age and they felt rough. I called him back and he said he couldn't check and replace every trap in the house even though I knew he had the part on his truck. I would never use them again because I was so dissatisfied the second time.

He worked all day and did a great job.

As stated earlier, problems arose in January of 2008 when my neighbor encountered sewer problems, (obtained an estimate from Roto-Rooter but opted for another company) and had her sewers connected to mine without easement rights to my property or a "mutual consent agreement!" In addition, her plumber trashed my property, destroyed shrubbery and caused the sidewalk to cave in. After immediately contacting Mike Wetmore, he developed an attitude, became insulting and, of course, told me that he was not at fault. However, he refused to give me assurance to this effect in writing but agreed to come to my home on 20 MAY 2008 to provide me with a DVD of the sewers. As indicated earlier, he stood me up and phoned a week later after I asked for an explanation. At that time, he mocked me, laughed and insulted me stating that he was at my home - only not at the designated time! Subsequently, I reported him to the BBB and after several attempts to resolve this issue, he kept sending insulting letters, lying and misrepresenting himself and referring me to Mike Como, the Allegheny County Health Department inspector who certified his job and my neighbor's job. Since then, I've taken the matter to Attorney General Tom Corbett's Consumer Protection Agency who advised that I call in the CDC and EPA as something is obviously terribly wrong with this situation. If Mike Wetmore is not guilty of any wrongdoing, why is he so adamant in professing that he did not damage my neighbor's sewers? Furthermore, Mike Como, Allegheny County Health Department is a friend of Wetmore, a fact that I reported to the entire Allegheny County Board including to a US Congressman Michael Doyle, whom I asked to investigate this situation. Mind you, Mike Wetmore never told me that he had given my neighbor an estimate and that she rejected him until I found out that the plumber she hired, actually connected her sewer lines to mine to save money. This is a very ugly situation and Mike Wetmore gave me a 5-year guarantee which seems to be meaningless since he doesn't communicate like a professional businessman but a charlatan. As I stated earlier, the issue is unresolved as of this time.

He was in and out in a very timely manner and he cleaned up his work area and he offered to put in shutoff valves where there weren't ones before. He was friendly and professional and he was fast. I've had no problems with it since then.

The worker was very good and very efficient. He got the drained cleaned out, and he gave us a solution to not cause the recurrence of the problem. They came on a Sunday which was surprising that they could respond on a weekend. They also came very promptly.

Roto Rooter quoted an hour response time, but that turned into almost 2 1/2 hours, which was fine, especially since they were responding same-day. Travis the signing plumber came and did the requested task of clearing out the clogged bathtub drain. While he was writing up my bill ($190 for the job, $160 with the Angie's List coupon) I told him of a noise I was hearing in my basement pipes; scratching sounds coming from the inside. Long story short, Travis helped me free the bird (!!) that had been trapped inside, no extra cost. So while I was not initially pleased with the price for the requested work, Travis was a huge help and a very, very nice person, so I'll keep my cost complaints to a minimum.

When I originally called they told me the call would be $135. When he gave me the bill, it was for $165. I asked why it was $165, and he said "Well, I have a coupon in the truck" and he took $30 off. He also, didn't check all the traps. The part he used was $5.65. He replaced one trap, but when he left I noticed that the trap on the dishwasher wasn't changed, and I could tell that the trap was going to go any minute. I called him back and he said that because I did not ask for both traps to be changed, I would have to make another service call. However, He did a great job with work.

They gave me a prompt estimate for the work and then came out the next day to do the work. They were here several hours. They had to go in through my closet to get to the pipes.

I was very pleased with the workmanship and expertise of the workers. They thoroughly explained their course of action and completed the job in a timely manner.

They were very polite and careful. They were nice people to work with.

I am not happy with their work. They kept adding unneeded work so the bill kept getting higher. I ended up hiring another plumber to finish the job. I would not recommend them to others.

Very nice and forth coming. They returned later to check on their work which I thought was nice. I would absolutely use them again and would recommend to others.

The dispatcher called in morning with the arrival time. The technician arrived only 10 minutes after the estimated time. They were courteous and completed work promptly with no problems.

Amazing is all I can say. They were prompt, friendly, efficient and very professional. For the large job there was a team and every single worker was top notch. Rich came out this past June for the clog and he was the same. So considerate of your property. I called on a Saturday morning and they were out in an hour. I thought being a big franchise maybe they wouldn't be customer oriented, but Id never use anyone but them. I have used well respected plumbers in the area before.

They guy seemed to know what he was doing and cleared it out at the time. But, it is now backing up again which may not be their fault.

Poor. Initial contact good, locating the problem. Backhoe was late the following day. Employees wanted to stop for the day before arriving at a logical stopping point. Diagnostician and plumber tried to strongarm me into either digging up my entire sewer for $16,000 or installing an injection pump for $10,000 when neither were warranted. Cleanout poorly installed, and hole only partially filled. Will have to call in another plumber to re-do the job.
