It went well, but they were very expensive, very pricey. The gentleman was really, really nice. I thought it was very pricey. There was going to be an extra $200 charge if he was going to mark the spot where the break was. So that would have been $575. I told him not to mark it. I just wanted to know if there was a break and there was. He was very, very nice, but I thought their prices were ridiculous. They came, they were prompt. I expected him to just look it over. It was not a big job.

I phoned shortly after 8:00AM and explained that we had rented a drain cleaner with a cutting tip to remove tree roots from our pipe which runs from the house to the sewer line.  We have done this in the past but this time there was a crack in the cable.  The cable broke and when we withdrew it, a section of cable and the tip remained in the pipe.  I said we wanted someone to come with a camera and to retrieve the cable.  Our usual plumber had told us this was the appropriate solution (he is semi retired and no longer keeps certain equipment) and we also were able to see how this was done online.  
I was told that the "technician" would be here between 8:30 and 12:30.  Somehow I missed their call at 10 but when I called back at 11:30 to apologize for that, they said that he would be here within an hour, that his prior job took longer than expected.  Expecting them by 12:30 then, at 1:30 there was still nobody here.  I called and they asked again some of the details, ie "is the cable stuck in there too , or just the tip?  We want to make sure we sent the right person" I reiterated that yes, the cable was in there too , as I had told them this AM.  Still the same situation.
 Around 2:00 the "technician" came, he appeared to have had no prior information of what I needed.  He did not have a camera to look into the pipe with him.  I explained to him what I had already explained on the phone, twice.  He looked into our exterior vertical opening to the drain, then looked at the back yard, paused and said that we would have to dig. I have no idea what he based that on because he could not see anything.  We had been able to flush toilets, run water, no back up.  I was annoyed because he did not have the camera, he said he would make a few phone calls.  While he did that, I called the main # and explained what was going on.  They assured me that he had experience with that and if he said I needed to dig, I needed to dig.  At that point, as I hung up, the tech came back and said that they would send someone with a camera tomorrow.  I asked him how, looking into my vertical pipe, where he could see approximately 3 feet down, he determined that I would need "to dig" .  His rely was " I'm not going to say anything more"  I asked him to leave.  I will never call them again.  I believe that had we not spoke to our own plumber prior to calling them and had some information, we could have easily spent thousands of dollars to dig up our sewer line unnecessarily.

It was touch and go for some time, not because of what they did it was Allegheny County failing our sewer line and Lester the lead plumber worked his but off to get this done correctly. 
I could not be more happy with the professionalism, knowledge and workmanship.  I had lots of bad news during the project but I never felt that we were not going to get to this done.  
I would hire them again at the drop of a hat.

Arrived quickly, gave us a quote and stuck to it, even after a second plumber had to be summoned and the job took a number of hours.

Our sewer backed up on 11/3/15.  RotoRooter was there within two hours and had our household systems back on line. Unfortunately there was water damage. One of their sales reps arrived while the plumber was still there and arranged for the restoration.  He even assisted us by opening a claim with our insurance company.  The restoration crew showed up promptly at 9AM on 11/4/15 and worked diligently removing all the damaged carpet an other material that was affected.  Everything was cleaned and sanitized very well.  The crew was courteous and very professional.  Fans and dehumidifiers were left to complete the drying process.  The machines were picked up on 11/7/15.  We are completely satisfied with the results of the job.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.  If you need a quick and professional response, you will get it with this company.

Dan arrived at my house, on time and discussed the job. I wanted an outside faucet installed; there was an existing water line in the garage that could be extended. This meant drilling through the thick stone wall and placing a new valve/faucet outside. He conferred with me several times as the work progressed to make sure the height of the faucet outside was OK, that the line inside the garage was placed where I wanted it (not necessarily the easiest place to run the pipe, but where I wanted it to be placed). He finished the job quickly, cleaned up every speck of dust and disposed of all the old parts and debris. I was so pleased with the work I offered to pay more for the job than we agreed upon--he reluctantly accepted because I had already written out the check. I used to believe that Roto-Rooter strictly cleared drains; I was wrong, they do any and all plumbing jobs. I am very pleased with all the work they have done at my home and will use them in the future. I highly recommend this company. Their employees are polite, knowledgeable, and efficient.

Our Roto Rooter plumber, Andy, showed up at 8am Saturday morning.  We had a horribly clogged kitchen sink.  Andy checked everything out, only to find completely blocked/rotted pipes and some issue with the pipes connections in the wall causing additional problems.  Luckily, Andy had all the necessary parts in his truck, disassembled, and replaced all of the pipes underneath our sink.  He spent almost 2 hours getting it all put back together. He was polite, kind and explained all of the steps he was going through so we understood the problems at hand.  After it was all completed, he made sure the kitchen was spotless again before he left.  The price was a little higher then we expected but we were very happy with the work.  

First of all, RR has a great answering service.  The answering service thanked me for being a return customer, which I thought was a nice touch.  I called about 9:45 PM and the dispatcher gave us a 4-hour window.   The 
dispatcher remained in touch with us and contacted us a half hour prior to the plumber's arrival.
Andrew "Drew" showed up at 12:30 AM.  He was friendly - especially for it being an un-Godly hour - and pinpointed the problem quickly.  Unfortunately, due to a night of intense storms, he had the heavier equipment on board his van and couldn't perform the job.  He felt horrible.  He promised there would be someone at our house first thing the next morning - and there was!
The dispatcher called to give us a heads up, and then the dynamic duo of John and JT showed up.  They were very efficient and unclogged the stack quickly.  They answered any question my husband had and gave him some preventative tips to avoid future clogs.  Thanks for the great service RR!

It went as smoothly as possible.  Andrew (#2295) was on-time, kept the carpets clean, and was very personable.  He diagnosed the problems, gave us a quote and completed the work for the quoted price.  There was another task that he could have done and charged me for, but he was honest enough to tell me that it would be easy enough for me to do myself to save some money.  I appreciated his professionalism and honesty.  This is my second good experience with this company, so I do plan to continue to use them.
