Mahon & Son Roofing

Bill and his crew showed up on time every day....I've had Bill do 2 roofs for me in the past(see my other reviews) so this was no surprise. The T-1ll on the house needed to be painted, the back sliding door was shot(replaced with Anderson door) and I wanted 1" insulated foam board installed(it's cold in the Poconos!). I also had Bill add in a couple "finishing touches" that made the house look amazing. The job went great, and the house looks better than I hoped.

I'm very pleased with the price and workmanship

Did an excellent job. Was very prompt and accommodating. Showed up on time and provided all the details, no surprises. Bill even anticipated what we would need based upon our discussion and called to confirm an adjustment that would make our interior work easier. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

It was very cold that day, but the person came to our house was very professional, very thorough, gave us a good estimate.

I would rate Mahon Roofing excellant and have already recommended them to a freind.

There was no problems and or issues what so ever!
I called for an estimate and received a detailed proposal with an extremely reasonable and very competitive price.
So I hired them. That was the easy part, the hardest part was obtaining permits. They supplied everything I needed immediately, it was the local municipality and my homeowners association that dragged their feet.
Need a new roof, do yourself a favor and call them for an estimate.

I had Bill do a roof for me in the spring. So when I bought another house I just called him again. Look at my other review of Mahon for more details. This house roof was in much worse condition... when looking at google maps you could see the roof was shot. The house was forclosed on, and empty for 2 years and had a couple tarps nailed to the roof to keep the water out. Because they did such a nice job before it was a no brainer to them again. I know this sounds kind of strainge that I had two roofs in one year. And that some people are going to think this is fake but it's not. Look at my other reviews 1 good one for Mahon and 1 really bad one for a carpet guy that sucks a**.

Found were roof leak was coming from and fixed it, the first time, showed up when they said they would and completed the job quickly and professionally. So far so good

Mahon and Sons Roofing did a real nice job. I worked in construction for years (not roofing) (and not in PA) and I know when someone knows what they are doing. Bill was in no hurry, and answered all of my questions. I called 4 roofing contractors for quotes... $5400, $5500, $5900 and $7400. Bill was the $5900. The 2 lower quotes wanted to use IKO shingles which I had never heard of. After looking for reviews of IKO shingles I stayed away from that brand.... WAY to many bad reviews. The one higher bid wanted to use Tamko shingles... I couldn't find enough reviews to find out if Tamko was good or bad. GAF reviews were easily the best. Also, I tried calling a couple other "Angie's List" roofers with good ratings, but when I called them they didn't seem interested.... you know .... like a teen aged Walmart employee about to go on break. Mahon and Sons did the job in 2 days without hitch.

They were good. Prices were fair. We did not have any problems after they came out.

I have a skylight and for 5 years I've never had a problem. Then about a year ago, I started to see water leaking from an area close to the skylight. At first it wasn't a lot of water, but it was getting worse. I finally got around to calling a roofer that was on Angie's list. That roofer was swamped and couldn't fit me in. I then called Mahon and Sons. I spoke to Marjorie and she was wonderful. She explained that they're swamped and they mainly work out of Mount Pocono, but she'll see if her husband can fit me in. Two weeks later, Marjorie called to say that her husband would be there the next day. He came as promised, removed dry rot and repaired some other stuff (sorry, I don't remember what he actually needed to replace) and charged me $150.00. Hurricane Irene hit the Northeast two days later so I was able to verify that the leak as indeed fixed. Work was done professionally and I would have them do work for me again.

Initial phone call placed on 8/11/2011, left message. Second phone call placed 8/14/2011, left message. Company returned call 8/17/2011 while I was at work. I returned phone call to them later that afternoon and got answering machine again. As of 8/21/2011, I have yet to hear from company.
It is disappointing that there is a lack of professionalism, if they were too busy or did not want to do the job that they could not let me know so I could move on to another roofer.

We called and got a quick response from Mr. Mahon; quote was less then we expected. Skylights were ordered right away, and job was completed within a few days. They were professional and efficient. We haven't had a problem since.

We had to wait for the rain to subside, but the first day without rain Mr Mahon was at our house working. He completed the entire roof replacement in two days, and removed all trash. His estimate was accurate, and the roof looks great!

Called a number of roofers that were on Angies list. Left a phone message with Mahon and Sons and they returned my call the next morning. I explained the problem and Bill arranged to come over the give me an estimate. Came within the hour and after checking the roof quoted me a price of $250 to replace the shingles. I had a closely matching shingle so I was supplying materials. Price was a little high but I had no other roofers respond after contacting three others and we were due for rain within a few days. Bill was also concerned because there was frost on the roof. I agreed and he returned two hours later with his son who got on the roof and replaced the shingles. He also checked the rest of the roof for any other loose shingles and replaced a few others. Work was done professionally and I would have them do work again for me.

They were excellent. The price was excellent. I would absolutely use them in the future.

He came over to look at the leak in the rain and I also told him about a clogged gutter. He cleaned it out before anything else. He gave use an extension on our leader.

Roof on one of our garages was brittle and we had several other roof jobs. We didn't know anyone in the area so asked for help from Angie's List. You researched the business for us and gave us some names. We picked a small Father and son business. They checked out the job without me being there and promptly Faxed me a reasonable quotation. Showed up when scheduled and worked hard getting everything done in a couple of days. Cleaned up well after the job and ran a magnet over the area to pick up nails. Asked them to do a small additional gutter job and they did it the same day - no problem. We asked them about gutter guards and they advised against using them in our location because we have so many pine needles. We have another house roof that needs repair and we have asked them to handle the job. Good honest people with a good work ethic.
