We have been using this vet service for approximately 25 years. We have taken our cats there for every type of problem, from early life to death. They are capable of a wide range of services, including emergency services. But they shine as a "family doctor " for our cats. They are all knowledgeable, kind, professional and caring. Our preferred doctor performed an examination, delivered the yearly shots, and discussed the cat's health, all without removing her hands from our cats or stopping her exam. Our cats were and always are wel l behaved under her sort and gentle and knowing touch. And she apologi.zes for any discomfort she gives them! She also takes her time, making her movements graceful and studied so no one gets freaked. All of the doc's we have used over the years are similarly talented. And the techs are excellent as well. And the receptionists are wonderful at organizing all of them, and U.S.

I have been taking my pets (canine & feline) to Morrisville Veterinary Hosp. for over 35 years now (and i've consistently had a multiple-pet household).  During that time the practice has steadily grown & the vets & staff have always been excellent.  Through the years I have invariably been treated with compassion, concern and respect.  As pet owners are aware, there are many happy and sad times in a pet's life & without fail, MVH has provided the best care I know of.  I wouldn't take my "fur-kids" anywhere else.
There have been some really tough issues & emergencies & at those times, I have never been disappointed.  Dr. Hughes-Saurina and Dr. Turin, and vet tech Kathleen deserve special acknowledgement.
Relative to prices, MVH is competitive with other practices in the area.

He had some dental issues. That's where I ran into a problem. They wouldn't do the dental issues without immunizing him. He was 13 at that time, and they wouldn't do dental without another rabies vaccine even if I had had him titered. They wouldn't have accepted the titer results. They said their vets wouldn't feel comfortable. I've done lots of research into it. There's no reason for it and they wouldn't fudge at all. If I wanted it done that had to be. He had a booster, but there's a lot of discussion about how long the immunizations last. The rabies shot for all dogs is the same dosage whether they're a Great Dane or a little Tiny Yorkie. It's the same dosage. He's a little dog and he's had enough. Studies had shown that the protection lasts usually from they get an immunization when they're puppy and then they get an immunization after they're a year old, and if you titer them, most dogs still are protected forever from those two shots, and yet, up until recently, they were giving them every year. Recently, they've gone to every three years, but all the research is saying they're unnecessary and I didn't want him immunized again. So, I end up going to a different vet for his dental who did it for me without immunizing.

Our geriatric cat is under their care.  They established a maintenance program that has assured his good health for many years.  A veterinarian sees him regularly.  Routine services (such as IV hydration) are handled by technicians.  Thus, they provide excellent service for a reasonable cost.

Check in is easy; technicians are well trained and friendly; appointments are on time; Dr. Skorup is compassionate, caring, and an excellent physician who obviously loves her job as well as the patients she treats.   She is a good communicator with regard to medical problems, treatment options and use of medications.   Morrisville Veterinary Hospital is a clean facility and I highly recommend it.

We have been clients of the Morrisville Veterinary Hospital for ten years with three golden retrievers.  I trust and respect the staff implicitly. When our second golden needed to be put down due to cancer throughout her body, the procedure was caring and loving and humane. We hated saying good-bye to our Murphy, but our veterinarian made us feel we had done the best thing for our Murphy.
More recently with our golden Maggie, Dr. Comings discovered her limping while staying for a weekend kennel visit.  Dr. Comings called me immediately while we were on vacation to discuss the issue.  X-rays indicated a partially torn ACL and Dr. Comings suggested therapy that included keeping Maggie on medication to reduce inflammation and to restore strength to the bone.  Dr. Comings suggested that Maggie stay indoors and go to potty on a leash.  We followed her direction because we wanted to avoid surgery.  Today, after 51/2 months, Maggie is running with no limp and is being transitioned off the medicine.  The entire staff was made aware of Maggie's issue and cared for her while she was there being kenneled during our vacations.

We have needed emergency phone help for ingested onions and the response was immediate. The office staff and technical staff are professional and pleasant. The veterinarians are special doctors who have cared for my three dogs. I highly recommend the Morrisville Veterinary Hospital.

Well next thing we know is the dog needs a test for lyme disease.  Never been bitten by a tick and nevr ut of our yard except to doctor and grooming and always treated for fleas and ticks but needs the test.  Why because this Dr. squeezed her near the hind legs and the dog snapped at her.  So the DR determines tenderness and the pushes on her back.  She says the dog shows signs of pain in the back.  Need the test($49.80) Test negative but we need pills because she may be in pain($37.60)  My dog is 10 years old and shows no symptoms and is as energetic and has her normal appitite.  This Dr like "add-ons"  I guess profits are not that good.
I have used this clinic for about 10 years and it has gone down hill.  A couple of new doctors in the past 4 - 5 years and this one particular loves the "add-ons".  My wife and I have decided our dogs deserve better.  Never to return.

Response from Morrisville Veterinary Hospital Inc
"Thank you for your review. It is hospital policy to do a physical examination on all pets before giving a vaccination in order to ensure that the pet is healthy enough to receive the vaccination. However, it is never our intention to force anyone to agree to any diagnostic test or treatment. Our goal is always to take the best possible care of our patients, and we believe that delivering the highest-quality medical care requires a team effort involving both the veterinarian and the client. To that end, we strive for open communication so we can best address both the pet's and the client's needs."

I did not like that there are so many doctors at this office and I never see the same one twice.  A urine test was performed and I was told that my cat had blood in her urine.  The doctor did not identify the method of obtaining the urine, and I later discovered that the blood was most likely caused by the method of cauterization, i.e., breaking the blood cells in the urinary tract, thus causing the presence of blood.  I was encouraged to have further testing done, including X-rays and ultra-sound. The estimate for these tests was several hundred dollars.  Since my cat was asymptomatic, I decided to seek a second opinion from another local veterinary clinic. I also had concerns about the lack of cleanliness of the office.
Response from Morrisville Veterinary Hospital Inc
"Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We have six veterinarians on staff. This allows us to be open from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM - 4:00 pm on Saturdays. We are also able to offer a wide variety of services including acupuncture, laser therapy, and PennHIP radiography, because of the variety of skills and areas of interest of our doctors. We realize that many of our clients prefer to develop a relationship with one or two doctors, and we encourage them to request their preferred doctor each time they schedule an appointment. We try to honor these requests whenever possible. We have also come to realize that not every veterinarian is the right "fit" for every client, but, given the opportunity, we are often able to find a good match because of the number of doctors we have. As for the blood in your cat's urine, we are sorry to hear that you feel we did not handle the process satisfactorily. Our Medical Director has reviewed your pet's chart and has determined that the Standard of Care was observed. While we do not feel it is appropriate to give any details here, we would be more than happy to discuss this further with you if you would like to call us. Finally, you mentioned the cleanliness of our hospital. We do strive to keep the hospital clean and apologize if you found the environment less than satisfactory. We would love to hear what you noticed so that we can address it."

There was a particular vet and her name was Dr. Dianne Skorup. She was very knowledgeable and she was very friendly. She was very helpful and she loved the animal. She was just excellent. They have standard price and they were little pricier than doctors. I really liked them.

We had visited the practice for the first time 4/10/10 for annual check-ups for our 2 cats and dog. At that time, the vet recommended we do the dog's vaccines in two separate sessions, since several were due. She explained the second visit would be a quick "in-and-out." We agreed and set up the follow-up appointment 5/1. At the follow-up visit, a different vet gave the booster and completed another full exam on the dog (teeth, heart-rate, etc). Our first visit yielded a $48 charge for the dog's "well pet exam" in addition to the vaccine charges; our 5/1 follow-up visit cost an additional $31.50 for the vet to "recheck" the dog. Had we known there would be more than nominal charge to split the vaccinations, we wouldn't have agreed to bringing the dog in twice.
