The only problem I had with them is that when I went for the appointment, I had to wait a long time to get it done. I never went back because they didn't - I figured if you had an appointment, within like 15 minutes, you were going to be seen and you were going to be out of there. But I had to wait over an hour or so just to get my car pulled in; and I only have one car so it's not like you could drop it off and go back in the afternoon to get it. He understood that I was going to wait. I'm not going back there.

It was no longer running reliably.Problem was traced some low quality parts fitted by another service provider about 18 months a go.

The car has in fact been off the road since Mid April. It died, and had to be towed. I was not satisfied with the first garage. I used Angie's list to find another garage in the area.
The service engine soon light came on several weeks before the car died. I actually had an appointment to have it looked at, but it died on the highway a couple days before the appointment.
Smeltz had several ideas and things to try before concluding that the catalytic converters were bad. I liked the idea of actually trying to establish what is wrong rather than just the parts the ECU said might be suspect. It turned out the ECU codes were the symptoms caused by the real problem, which was a bad distributor. It took an enormous amount of labor to peel the layers of the onion back, and find the real underlying problem.

They did great. I did not dislike anything about them. I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal offer for the work. I would rate them highly.

Except for the one item noted above, my overall service experience with Smeltz Auto Service I consider to have been positive and would consider them for any further auto services I may have in the future.

Dough Glenn is the mechanic and I take my car there for service. He, instead of replacing my whole exhaust he custom built pieces and pieced them in there for me. It was a repair that was going to cost $400 cost me $80 and he is just so accommodating. He really did me a big favor, unlike the others that wanted to replace the whole thing. If anyone has auto repair to be done, I would recommend him. It is a family owned business and they are very nice. The waiting area is nice and I had to wait because I did not have anyone to take me back and forth. There are always fair priced and it was just a good experience.
