Renewal by Andersen of Pittsburgh

We had several issues when working with them on the installation at the beginning of the summer that were attributed to a sudden change in staffing. Understandable. Then following the install we had to have them return because the screen for the door wasn't aligned correctly. Aggravating, but not the end of the world. Now just a few months later the door is making a loud clicking sound just before it closes. It's louder than the ancient metal-framed door we replaced. We scheduled service for earlier this week and they never showed. We called that evening and didn't receive a call back until three days later. During that call there was no apology and no explanation provided until I asked why they never showed. The excuse this time was a new scheduling system. Because I wasn't available at a time that was convenient for them, we're stuck waiting another two weeks to have someone look at it. Very disappointing.

They were fine. The doors were installed almost immediately, but because of the odd shape of the window took longer than I expected.

This is a word of warning to all those unsuspecting people like me who thought that Renewal by Anderson is the same as Andersen Window Company. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES offering very different products. Sixteen years ago I had an addition put on my house in Allison Park PA in 2001, and the contractor used 400 Series Andersen Windows. I love them, still do. I kept seeing ads from Renewal by Andersen, and when the time came figured I would replace my old vinyl windows with the same thing as my addition. After Renewal by Andersen finished the installation I noticed that my new windows didn't look the same but I chalked it up to evolving technology. Since that time I have spoken to separate Andersen Window contractors and sales outlets and have learned that the windows I bought from Renewal by Andersen don't fit as well and simply aren't as good as what I got from Andersen Windows, and I paid way more money than I needed to. My suggestion: 1) go to [*** Link removed ***] and learn the differences in grades, styles and options. 2) get prices from contractors in your area for installing what you've picked out, including the big box stores. 3) call Renewal by Andersen and get a price from them for the genuine Andersen Window you've picked out. Let the buyer beware. Good luck!

Great. Kept furniture covered and cleaned everything up.

The crew arrived late the first day as they had to cover for another crew that experienced an injury, however, once they got here they got right to work. They came early the next day and stayed late until the job was finished. They left the areas where they were working cleaner than when they arrived which was wonderful.

Process went smoothly. Representative arrived, submitted bid, and arranged for installation. Installers arrived and completed job in a timely, professional manner.

Great - we had them take it down to the studs which was definitely worth it - looks great - I would suggest Robbie's team - professional and worked like a well run oil machine - each knew exactly what to do - job turned out better than I could imagine - worth the extra money

They're the best

Adam was the salesman who came to our house. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Another gentlemen came back later to do the measurements for ordering the windows. The installation job went very well. All of the ordered windows were perfect replacement fits for our existing window frames. Jay and his crew (Nick and Randy) showed up on time and did a great job. Later in the day, John and Joe joined in. All 14 windows were replaced in less than 8 hours. All flooring was protected, and plastic sheets were hung to protect everything in the house. Everything was cleaned up inside and outside after the job was done. I especially appreciated that Jay removed and replaced some rotten wood in two of the window frames during installation for no extra charge. The rotten wood was caused by a leak many years earlier before we replaced the upstairs siding. The Renewal Fibrex material is beautiful. I think the only way to get a finish as beautiful is with real wood. It is much nicer looking than any of the vinyl or metal replacement windows we looked at. Before leaving, Jay demonstrated the tilting operation of the windows for cleaning purposes. Everyone on the work crew was very professional and pleasant to be around. We are very satisfied with the windows and the installation process.

Renewal by Anderson windows are woth every penny we paid for them. They were installed professionally in one day by an Anderson trained sub contractor who knew exactly what to do. Our windows were installed in 2013 and are excellent in design and work beautifully in insulating our home! The windows from start to finish cost just under $ 11,000 with the option to 0% financing for a year. Excellent sales pitch and customer service is a Anderson trait from a 100 year company who invented the vinyl window and patented their Fibrex technology used in my windows! Highly recommend purchasing these windows if your serious in investing in your home!

5.0 star rating 11/12/2016 My husband and I recently purchased and had new custom French doors and a storm door installed in our home by Renewal by Anderson. We absolutely love the doors and had a wonderful experience from purchase to installation. In fact, the only negative experience I had was not having Renewal by Anderson to our home sooner! Before we had Shawn Zbur, Design Consultant and Sales Representative, to our home, we met with and received quotes from Metropolitan Window and Door, Pella and Pittsburgh Window and Door. The individuals from the two latter companies were customer friendly; however, Pella's estimate was significantly higher than Renewal by Anderson and lacked some of the options that Renewal provided, while Pittsburgh Window and Door was not able to provide the custom product with our preferred finishes. The individual who met with us from Metropolitan Window and Door was very condescending and I believe based assumptions of a strong sale and our spending potential on our home which is nearly 100 years old. Poor salesmanship and lack of character all around with Metropolitan. So back to our amazing, five star experience with Renewal by Anderson. As they were the fourth company I had met with, I went into the appointment already skeptical that they could design the French doors with the custom width and finishes I wanted as it seemed no other company was able to accommodate our product needs. Shawn Zbur, Design Consultant and Sales Representative, was extremely friendly and personable from the moment he arrived until the follow-up after installation. I explained exactly what I was looking for (and not looking for) and, after taking the needed measurements, sat with me and my daughter at our kitchen table to review all of our options instantly using his notebook and other computer equipment that was easily set up for our appointment. He explained everything in detail and had samples of the materials to share for an up-close look at the feel and color of the door's construction, color and hardware options. Amazingly, Shawn was able to provide me with French doors with the same look and feel of wood trim that the previous doors had, and, to top it off, was able to provide it at a very reasonable price and approximately $2,000 less than the Pella product which did not even meet our needs in terms of finishes, etc.! Shawn even took the time to look and measure other windows in our home when I mentioned the draftiness of our family room. Considering the wonderful service and excellent finished product we now have with our new doors, we will most likely have Renewal replace these windows in the next year or so. Thank you Shawn for the wonderful customer service! It is so rare today to have this experience and I could not thank you any more for your help, time, and assistance in helping us get the doors we needed with the finishes that were so important to us! The five star service did not end there, however. The friendly customer service team at Renewal by Anderson was able to schedule our installation in five weeks from purchase which was extremely impressive as I had been given quotes of up to 13 weeks from other companies. Renewal then sent a separate individual to our home to confirm the measurements as a means to avoid any mistake in the manufacturing process. The customer service team then sent out notices by phone, email and text regarding what to expect and reminders for installation day. The installation team was so incredible. Mark and Jim arrived at the quoted time, were exceptionally friendly, courteous and efficient. My four year old daughter was very interested in watching them throughout their preparation, removal of the old doors and installation of the new doors and they could not have been any kinder or more patient with her. They were so attentive to contain all dust and debris in a carefully designed workspace and cleaned up entirely after installation. They were quiet, efficient and explained how the doors functioned in detail with me before they left. To top it off, they thanked me for the installation opportunity! For me, what differentiated Renewal by Anderson was the caliber of people whom they employed. In a world full of phony sales tactics, rushed or no customer service at all, it was so refreshing to see that Renewal obviously values not only the skill their team needs, which is obviously very high, but also values character, integrity and true authenticity of people and they have carefully selected them as representatives of their company. So for anyone in the market for new doors and windows, start and end with Renewal by Anderson. There is no need to look elsewhere as they will provide you with high quality products at competitive prices and you will be supported by the best people throughout the sales and installation process. The salesman came out one evening early in September, made a great presentation, we agreed upon a price, and contracted to have Andersen replace our windows. Windows were custom made and installed in a little over a month. The workmen did all the installation in two days, did an outstanding job, cleaned up completely when the job was done, and were very pleasant to have in my home. I would definitely hire this company again.

We contacted Renewal by Anderson and were very impressed with the quality of the windows they suggested and how closely they matched our existing windows. After ordering a crew arrived two weeks later to install. Scott and John were very professional and the install was completed in less than 3 hours and our house was left as clean as before they came. We are very impressed with the quality of these windows.
