We offer FREE ESTIMATES and do not use subcontractors. Call us directly at (724) 775-0808. We have been in business since 1956. We have 4 landscape designers on staff including one with a degree from Cornell University in landscape architecture and one with a degree from Penn State in landscape contracting. We provide a full range of landscaping services. We mow 250 residential lawns a week and provide a unique fertilizer program for 400 lawns. WE PREFER TO SPEAK WITH YOU VIA PHONE OR EMAIL. I initially got an estimate in April.  I knew that the ideal time to put in a new lawn with seed was in late August or early September.  I contacted them again on September 17 through Angie's List.  I got an auto response that they would contact me within 48 hours.  Since I knew I was late and the situation was time sensitive, on September 20 I sent another message since I had not heard from anyone.  At that point I called and spoke with the owner, Randy Tuma.  He told me that my project manager was out of town and would get back to me.  Over the next ten days I played telephone tag with the project manager.  He finally met with me on October 3 and the project was done on October 7. 
The job was done very well.  I am most pleased.
However, the service of the project manager has continued to be subpar.  Neither he nor the workers gave me instructions about how to care for the sod.  I had to call the project manager to get instructions about watering and mowing.  At that time he promised to send me proposals for ongoing care.  It has been over three weeks with no response.

Randy Tuma did a great job from quoting the job, to getting it done, cleaning up, and making sure we were satisfied. Randy handled everything himself and provided me with his cell phone number for any questions I had during the process. Randy and his crew were professional and not only did a good job on the install, but also did a great job restoring our lawn where they dug. I would highly recommend Tuma for any landscaping needs!

We called to schedule an appointment to set up a free estimate on replacing our retaining wall. We met with the owner that same week. He was a little tardy but he was very nice and had a world of knowledge. A few weeks later he returned with a beautiful design and price. He went through his design and discussed all of our options. We where very impressed by this company the only reason we didn't but was the price just more than what we where expecting.

We've had different lawn services but overall, Tuma has been our best and most reliable go-to lawn care for over 30yrs.  And Randy Tuma still has most of the same crew!  Chris has been phenomenal at satisfying my landscaping design needs; Mimmo (?) is my favorite yard-crasher; Joanne a super phone-contact lady, and Frank has always helped with ideas to create or improve features in my landscape.  From hauling dirt to spacing rocks and just being available, the whole Tuma crew has been remarkably professional and consistent.  The plants they've brought have been hardy, healthy and growing strong.  I've asked that they call before coming out so I can contain my dog, and they've never missed a call.  We've had cheaper lawn services, but in this case, by staying with Tuma, we've been getting more than we pay for.  Now that we're members of Angie's List, we wanted to commend this company for their dedication, helpfulness and professionalism toward us all these years.  Thank You!

Supervisor Frank Fleming came to our house a couple of days after we first contacted Tuma.  We discussed the scope of the work that we wanted, and he suggested the materials to be used and looked at our property and described the proposed work and the plants to be removed and replaced.  The object was not only to improve the appearance of the property, but to reduce the annual maintenance as much as possible.  The stone and rock we reviewed were beautiful, as were the plants.  The crews were extremely busy, so it was several weeks before they were able to do the work, which was not a problem for us.  Frank brought three fellows in the morning of July 8 and they worked steadily for almost three days to complete the work.  The work was excellent and the area was neat and clean when the job was done.  In my opinion, they are highly skilled and the cost of the project was reasonable.

Prior to a couple of years ago we use to take care of the lawn with the standard products you buy at the stores, which did not seem to do the job.
We contracted with  them to replant some areas of the lawn and also provide a yearly maintenance program .
They have done a great job. The lawn has never looked better.
Some areas of the lawn, they reseeded did not catch, and they came back to do it over.
They are always on time and they are the best.
You can't go wrong hiring them to do your job.

The trees/shrubs were of excellent quality.  The crew was on-time, professional and neat.  The clean up after the trees and shrubs were installed was outstanding (no trash left behind, sidewalks were cleaned).  I highly recommend this company.

Tuma was very professional from the start.  They returned phone calls promptly and showed up on time for all scheduled appointments.  Chris was willing to work with us, using natural stone, rather than pavers for our patio.  The guys who installed everything were very polite and hardworking.  They kept us informed about everything.  There were a few areas that needed to be redone after the patio was finished.  Chris had his team out to promptly to take care of these issues.  We are very happy with our patio and fire pit.  I would highly recommend the guys from Tuma.  We will definitely use them again for any future projects.

Extremely well.  The employees were courteous, professional, thorough and worked quickly.  I had picked out over 80 plants, bushes and trees which were planted at my direction by preparing areas that were lawn, converted to garden.  In addition, flag stone walking paths were placed in the gardens to allow easy walking through.  Fresh top soil was brought in for all the new beds and to repair some of the old beds/grassy areas.

I was given an estimate and told that I would have the work performed around mother's day. Mother's day came and went and did not have any phone calls, etc.  I placed 4 phone calls and got no return phone call for 2 weeks.  I finally got a callback and was told they would be out in 2 days.  Again, no show and no call.  They finally came on Friday and they took out bushes that we had discussed would not be taken out and the whole job, with exception to retaining wall, was done half-butt.   He then tried to charge me $250 more than the estimate.

We contacted Tuma Lawn Service to do some work in our backyard.  We had a few different projects that we needed taken care of such grass planted and a small decorative pond removed.  When we initially called they set up a date for the following week for someone to come out to give us a quote.  He arrived as requested and we went over what we would like done.  He said that he would give us a call the following week with the quote.  He never called us with the information or called us back.  Apparently they did not want the job.
