We offer FREE ESTIMATES and do not use subcontractors. Call us directly at (724) 775-0808. We have been in business since 1956. We have 4 landscape designers on staff including one with a degree from Cornell University in landscape architecture and one with a degree from Penn State in landscape contracting. We provide a full range of landscaping services. We mow 250 residential lawns a week and provide a unique fertilizer program for 400 lawns. WE PREFER TO SPEAK WITH YOU VIA PHONE OR EMAIL. Tuma Landscaping had built a retaining wall for us nearly 20 years ago that still looks like new so there was no hesitation when we decided to build a stone patio to replace a wooden deck. The patio came out looking exactly as it was designed by the project manager! The crew and office staff are polite and professional. The team showed up on time daily and the patio was completed on time. We highly recommend Tuma Landscaping.

We had an 'L' shaped area along the driveway and street that was old and tired. We wanted to rip everything out and replace with new plants and mulch. We worked with Frank who went above and beyond. He listened to what we wanted as far as spacing and plants, gave suggestions on plants even providing samples of 4 different mulches so could get an idea of what color mulch. Additionally, Frank also said they would prune a Japanese maple, trim another shrub and lay new mulch in 3 other areas in the front yard all together roughly a 14' x 6' area that was not part of the original job at no extra cost. I already considered the cost to be fair so that additional work was really something. And the price quoted was the price paid. No surprises. The work was done in half a day with a total cleanup The guys did a great job. Yes i would hire again. I was really impressed with the extra work that was done that was not even part of the original project. it was very generous. Cindy was our contact at the office She was very kind and accommodating and easy to work with. ps yes it took me awhile to do this review. I never forgot about it, just never got around to doing it.

Tuma did our initial landscaping 30 years ago and it had just aged out and had overgrown a bit. Randy did an extensive new plan in September 2020 to update the layout with more modern plant types. He was very thoughtful in his plan and seriously considered our desires and the unique features of our job. Removing the old plants and trees was a large job and was accomplished quickly and with a minimum of mess and disruption. The entire job was completed within 3 days. Randy visited daily and was very willing to make both minor and major alterations mid-job. He was very meticulous in the placement of the new plants. He was also good at instructing us on how to care for the new plants to assure their proper growth. He also gave a warranty on his plants, although I forget the exact term (1 year?). The price was about what we had guessed, although we were not well versed on landscaping costs. The redone plan makes our house look much newer and is very functional and designed to provide color throughout the season. Tuma did an excellent job 30 years ago, and an even better job this year. I would recommend them highly.

Frank's crew which included Memo, John and a couple other workers removed 10 large arborvitae and shrubs that were overgrown and also removed an area of day lilies. They then planted 6 new arborvitae, 2 burning bushes and created a perennial garden in the center of the area. They also trimmed all the remaining trees and shrubs. They installed a double layer of railroad ties at the back of the landscaping to prevent erosion that had been taking place, added fabric and red raven around the trees and mushroom manure and mulch around the perennials.. Everything was cleaned up and watered and it looks gorgeous! They also leveled an area of patio bricks that were uneven.

My wife and I wanted a patio and so early August 2019 we scheduled an appointment with Wade Tuma to discuss a patio project at our home. We met a few times with Wade and the three of us kicked around ideas eventually completing our design and finalizing the patio plans drawn to scale on paper. During this time Wade was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained the complete installation to us so we understood the process. He told us the building start date would be mid September and the project would take about 5 days to complete with favorable weather. When the date came he and his crew came in and did an outstanding job. We were impressed with some of the equipment he brought in especially the instrument to get the desired pitch. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the excellent job they did. We’ve gotten numerous complements from our neighbors, friends, and family. We’ve spent the entire summer on our patio this year especially with the COVID-19 situation. During our patio installation and since then Wade and his crew have also planted various trees and done additional landscaping to our property. Great job Tuma Lawn and Landscaping and a special thank you to Wade.

We have always been very happy with the hard work Tuma crew has put in at our home. They have kept our irrigation system in great working condition for 15 yrs. We have a future lawn project scheduled for fall. Always on schedule, polite office people. We would recommend them for any outdoor work.

Frank and his team at Tuma did a great job! Frank met with us within a day or two of our initial request and you could tell immediately that he had a lot of knowledge and experience. We didn't have a plan in place but knew what we didn't like, so he really had to come up with a lot. The only slightly frustrating part was that the proposal took a pretty long time to be sent to us, so we could not accept and get on the calendar for almost a month. When the team arrived, they immediately got to work removing all of the overgrown and unwanted shrubs and weeds. All of the additions look to be doing well and the did a fantastic job of trimming everything, deeply edging and mulching all of the beds. Would recommend 100%!

Randy and his team have done several large jobs for us over the past few years. They’ve done a full redo of our landscaping on 2 areas of our house. We live on a corner so essentially have 2 frontages. I also hired him to plant a green wall of 12 trees to act as a fence in the backyard. I am very happy with all the work. He is knowledgable, responsive and reliable. The plants he used are low maintenance, hardy and give me color in 3 seasons. I will definitely call him for future projects.

Everything has been accomplished promptly and consistently. The crews are friendly and considerate. I appreciate Randy's walk through of my property each spring to detail the work that needs to be done. I do miss Robin's blowing after mowing. He really took pride in keeping my walkways and driveways and porch area completely free of debris. It is not the same this year, but he is/was probably an uncommon employee

Tuma did a fantastic job. The quoting process was well thought out with social distancing in mind. Once the contract was signed they provided an estimated project date within 2 weeks and met the date. The day before they confirmed the appointment. On the day of the work, they again did a great job of adhering to a no-touch/social distancing process. All of that is just their process, the work was even better. I am very pleased with their attention to detail and solid foundation they created.

I had some challenging issues in totally renovating my back yard. I called 4 companies. One never called back, and the other two submitted proposals that appeared thrown together with sketches that looked like a 7 year old did them. The fourth was Tuma. After meeting with Wade, I was presented a detailed plan for each area and where each plant and shrub would go. Everything was done in a day by a great crew exactly as planned. They even did a little extra sprucing up I didn't expect. The next Spring, I called them back for some additional work and mulching. Again, very pleased. I would definitely recommend Tuma Landscaping to anyone looking for great work, professionalism, and fair pricing

For the landscaping: Tuma installed a tree that is sickly looking. I have asked repeatedly for this tree to be replaced with something nicer looking and healthier. In addition, they planted a small pine tree by my front door. It needs to be moved to another location because it is getting too big for this space. Repeated requests for this to be done have gone unanswered. Tuma has been cutting my grass for the last two years. Now, I get a letter saying that because they are having a "labor shortage", they need to drop me as a customer! I always paid my bill on time and tried to be a good customer. So, if they are having a "labor shortage" and can't keep up with maintaining customers' lawns etc, what are they doing on Angie's List, trying to get new customers. Up until yesterday; I would have given them an "A" rating. Now, they get an "F". A reputable business doesn't drop customers without any warning!

"I regret to confirm that we made a business decision to part ways. We notified you in January so that you would have ample time to find a new service provider before your lawn needs cut in April. I do appreciate that you mentioned in your review that you would have given us an A rating before we decided to part ways and you gave us A review after we completed the landscape installation. Regarding the plants that we planted for you in 2017, all plants were at 100% health when we were there last Summer. Last yea;s unusual weather at the time your cherry tree bloomed caused all of the cherry trees in our area to only bloom for a short period of time. We responded immediately when the cherry tree grew an abnormal branch which we pruned off. The small pine, which is a cypress, is a brilliant dark green color and is growing as it should. All plants will require some ongoing maintenance to keep their shape and size. Even though we knew your plants were in great health, we offered to replace them with new plants at our cost. We sent you contracts to to install the new plants on two occasions, however we never received any signed contracts back. We appreciate your business the last few years and wish you the best."
