Description of Work: Replaced an aging front entry door and storm door in my 113 year old house. They were very responsive and the work quality was outstanding. Price was very reasonable given the complexity of the work! I would definitely hire them again. A++

I wanted to get my driveway concreted and decided that I would have some work done on the shed that stood behind the garage. Once the work and the discussion started, it was decided that the shed would be completely redone. The shed had only one access to it at the beginning. Now it is the same width as the garage, can store all my garden and yard tools, and has access from both sides with hand made (from scratch) doors (one is a man door and the other is a double door to get the lawn tractor out of the shed). I had just had shelves put in the garage on either side and they had to cut the bottom of the legs off the shelves to pour the floor. They made sure that the shelves were secure and could handle the weight on them without the leg bottoms being on. The house is over 100 yrs old and the gravel in the driveway was really packed down. The driveway looks so nice with the concrete. It was done with professionalism, courtesy (if anything extra was needed, I was kept in the loop and asked permission before anything extra was done), knowledge, and completeness. The owner kept in contact with me until the job was completed and most of the time was on the job site helping with the work.
Description of Work: Rebuilt shed behind garage, poured concrete flooring in garage, poured concrete driveway, replaced windows in 3rd floor of house, poured concrete floor in shed.

We are cash ready and anxious to get a garage and accessorie dwelling unit built on our property. This "person" will certainly NOT be doing the work for us. Please read the below if you are considering him to work for you...might save you a lot of grief. Another Angie's List client apparently had a similiar situation where Panko disappeared and then gave a sad story to cover his lack of follow-through. After over two months of trying to get a bid from him I have discovered this is definately this man's MO (Mode of Operation). He is certainly not dependable....I would NEVER hire him. Below are the details of my experience: I contacted Panko from Angie's List and he was very responsive on the phone. Showed up very late for the first appointment and only after I called to find out where he was. We wanted to see about getting a garage with accessorie dwelling space built and told him we were ready to start on the project immediately. Tim Panko came out looking terrible, and did not seem very professional. That was fine, I realize that contractors are not "sales people". Panko promised us a bid by the next week. Two weeks later, after I contacted him, he shot me back an email asking if I had found another contractor, or I still wanted the bid. I assured him we still very much wanted the bid and he promised by end of week. Two weeks later he called and asked if we still wanted the bid. I said yes. Another bit of time later and he sent me an email, asking me if I still wanted the bid. I said yes. Then I received a long letter of him telling me how horrible his father was, how bad his life was and wah wah wah. I could not believe that I was getting such a letter from a contractor when all I wanted was a bid. To this date, almost two months later, I have received nothing from Panko but sob stories. I am a top selling real estate agent who has just moved here from Washington state. NEVER have I dealt with anyone like this. Not only have I assisted in helping my clients with contractors, but I also renovated 19 of my own homes and so am very familiar and comfortable working with contractors. This guy takes the cake....and it is an upside down cake for sure! I highly recommend that you not waste your time with this person.

First of all I showed up in work clothes after a hard day of work on another job so if that makes me look bad then I'll take it every day ! Second of all these people were very vauge on what they wanted to do they gave me a picture of another website with a picture of a project that if you pay for the design you get the prints to build from which they didn't do so it left all the legwork on us. Then they wanted the job completed in an un-realistic timeframe ( By Thanksgiving ) that gave us appx 3 weeks to complete the project which we had no material list for and they wanted some things done and others not done. Painting here, not painting there, a cheap grade staircase, unsure about the exterior finish, they wanted heat in the building of course but the building was a garage with an apartment upstairs so I made several attempts after leavinng with what notes we had on what they wanted which were very vauge because they kept jumping from one thing to another like well lets just say it was not a normal call for us. The attempts I made to make contact went un anwsered time and time again.. I needed to know important information so that we could nail down a firm bid and know what we were expected to do or not to do . I got no anwser on exterior finish. I received no anwser on if or if not the lower part of the building would get insulation and drywall since the apartment was upstairs and they wanted heat in the floor it made sense to do so but like I said NO ANWSER ! Customer was not cooperative in the process it took to bid the job so it was TROUBLE from the beginning customers like this by experience after the job is nearing completion create an array of problems like we told you we wanted this and that but in fact would not respond to ANY of my attempts to communicate via phone or email. How can I possibly bid a job where I talk to the customer 1 time and get a confusing amount of information because they wanted some things and were unsure about others , which is ok with me I am used to that but it is followed by communication so as to put anwsers to the questions at hand , Again { I RECEIVED NO COMMUNICATION ! } The only reason I called them and asked if they still wanted a bid is because I figured if they treated other contractors the same then they were not getting their job done right ? So I figured that maybe just maybe they had setteld down enough to give me the anwsers I needed now or they themselves got some of those anwsers by their dealings with the other contractors trying to bid the job. { THE WORST CUSTOMER WE HAD ALL YEAR ! as far as communication was concerned. I am sorry that she went to so much effort to bad mouth me but I figure it is because we were the best contractor she could have found to do their project and they mistreated their chance to deal with us because of the NO communication problem on their end. And then had problems with the next contractor they called no doubt because of the same problem so they are all mad at us. It was not my fault they elected NOT to call or email us with the information we had to have to go forward with their job. I think I said it 10 times the same thing I could have said in 1 simple sentence. This customer would not communicate with us in order for us to bid the job........! Sincerely, Tim Panko.

Mr. Panko and crew did an excellent job of removing the ceilings. He was very careful to keep dirt and dust to a minimum as my husband has COPD. Same with the reinstall of the ceilings-quick and well done. I originally contracted to only have him do the new ceilings but decided to have him recoat all existing walls in texture. Mr. Panko accommodated me with all this extra work done quickly and reasonably. I love my new ceilings and walls!! I was most impressed by Mr. Panko's attitude in doing the work as he consistently treated my home and the work he was doing here as if it were his own home. By that I mean he really cared that the work he was doing was the best it could be.
Description of Work: Tore down and removed all ceilings from second floor. Replaced ceilings with new drywall installation and textured all walls.

I think I would have been able to work with him, but I hired another contractor I thought would work with me better. Panko & Sons would have been a 2nd choice.
Description of Work: Came out for an estimate on my new 1920 house. Work included painting, refinish wood floors, re-paint basement & waterproof, plus several other smaller jobs. Had lots of ideas & would have been able to start work close to my 'fluid' schedule.

I am unhappy with how a member can review us on criteria that we did not perform. To me this shows just how broken the review system can be because of the way Angie's list has this part set up !

We did not do ANY ceramic flooring or install a sink for this customer. In fact we installed Vinyl sheet flooring and a counter top in the kitchen area and Vinyl Sheet flooring in two bathrooms, Installed a new cabinet in one of them using the existing sink and existing top. Again a review on criteria we did not perform ! Recently we installed a new prefinished hardwood floor in the living room, so he has rehired us for additional work !
They gave us an estimate and we hired them to do the job. They arrived when they said they would be here, started on the job and worked until it was completed.
Description of Work: Tore off gutters, facia and soffit that were damaged by ice build up. Did repairs then replaced facia and soffit and put new gutters and also sealed off around windows. In November they installed laminate flooring in our kitchen. We have been very pleased with all they have done at our home.

Description of Work: I contacted this contractor via phone and we discussed the projects that i had in mind to be done, we set up a date for them to show up and review the project. The contractor never showed up let alone call me to say that he would not be able to make it. He also never called since to apologize and to set up another date. As far as Im concerned A man is only as good as his word.

Member I sincerly apoligize for the lack of communication on my part and deserve the rating that you posted. I have no office personel to handel my business should a problem arise which is the case with your job. I had an emergency with my mother and her health, she lives in texas, I went there to be with her and totally missed the appointment that I made with you and at that point I should have called you and told you the circumstances that had come up, it totally slipped my mind untill at least 2 weeks went by and I came across my notes in my office. At that point I should have called you and told you what had happened and I did not do so. ( MY BAD ! ) I apoligize. After that I became very busy and again did not follow up or put thought into letting a customer down until I read your report you left on A. L. I do feel badly and will strive to not let this happen in the future. Again please accept my sincere apoligie. Tim Panko..

They did a great job. It is better than any other job I have had done. They were thorough, fast, knowledgeable, stayed late to finish up work, and cleaned up after themselves daily.
Description of Work: They completely renovated our basement. They completed a bathroom, theater room, a kitchenette and office.
