A1 Sewer Cleaning Specialists

We phoned A1 sewer in the morning, left a message with the answering service. We received a call back with in a half an hour from the time of the call. They scheduled an appointment the same day and they did come within the scheduled time. They came into my home with the equipment. We spoke about the problem. Showed them were the problem was. They started the job quickly. Fixed the problem. They explained what the problem was and spoke about what we can do in the future so that this hopefully does not happened again. They were very professional. I would call them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone. The cost was very reasonable.

Everything has been fine. They are very good to work with and I like them because there is no conflict of interest. They do one thing; clean pipes. That is all they do.

I believe the sewer cleaning went well

In August I called another firm Rotor Rooter) to look at my sewer which was running very slow and overflowing when the washing machine was used.  They used a video camera and told me thta the sewer was clogged with roots and needed dug up at a cost of $8000.00.  I then called A1 who came out and said they could not locate the trap and without finding the trap they would be afraid to augur it.  They needed to video it and would charge around $200.00.  They charge nothing for this visit.  After trying to use chemicals to kill the roots for several months I again called A1.  This time they were able to locate the trap without the video camera and cleaned the sewer.  They charged $160.00 which was less than Rotor Rooter charged to do nothing.  They were prompt, friendly and very helpful.  I would highly recommend A1 to anyone with a sewer problem.

Two men arrived at the scheduled time and went right to work with their power auger.  They worked for about a half hour and removed debris and about five foot long roots from my shrubs that had infiltrated the line.  They rechecked the line to ensure that everything had been cleared and the drain flowed freely.  They were friendly and very good at their job.  I would definitely use them again.

Sewer line from the house to the street was blocked.  I asked crew to call me at work about an hour before they would arrive at my house.  They called and were waiting in the driveway when I arrived 50 minutes later.  They had the sewer cleaned in about a half and hour and charged the agreed upon price.  Provide a 60 day warranty on the work performed.

They answered all the questions they could and tried they best to fulfill obligations.

Excellent.  They quickly responded to my call to determine what I needed.  They gave me the date and approximate time of the crew's arrival, and the crew themselves called me on the day of my appointment to give me an even more definitive time.  The guys were prompt, professional, efficient, and very easy to talk with.  They snaked and checked my sewer line, and sealed an open drain hole I pointed out to them for no extra charge.  They left the work area spotless.  I will use them again and definitely recommend them to others.  The cost was a bit high, but then again, what isn't these days.  Which reminds me that they also gladly accepted a $5 off coupon I got off Angie's List site.  Thanks, A-1!

Called in the morning for a clogged tub.  Called me back within 15 minutes to set up a time frame to come and do the work.  Mike was actually a bit early which worked out great for me.  He came in and explained what he was going to do, started working and finished in about a 1/2 hr.  He kept things neat and clean and was very professional and personable.  I will definitely recommed A1 to family and friends and will have them back again if I need to.

I had a plulmber come and clean out the sewer.  He found a small root and told me that the whole front yard needed to be dug up with a backhoe and that all of the pipes needed to be replaced.   I remembered years ago having the same problem at one of my rental properties and I called A-1 and they were able to clean out the sewers, so I called them again.   The technician, Mark, showed up the very next day - spent several hours cleaning out the sewers and found a blockage and was able to clear it.   Not ONLY did he clear everything out - BUT I saved a huge amount of money by NOT having to dig up the front yard.   Before you call any of those other companiesi that advertise the $99.00 special - CALL A-1 ... before you dig - CALL A-1 - you won't be sorry.

They came out when I called. They were timely and worked efficiently. I was very happy with their services.

They were wonderful.  They could have been a little lower on the price.  The quality of the work they did was excellent.  They were great. 

Two workers arrived at the scheduled time, which was helpful since my wife had taken the afternoon off from work.  The workers were quite knowledgeable, explaining before they started work that based upon where we live and their prior experience in the neighborhood, they had a good sense for the characteristics of our piping system.  They quickly accessed our main sewer line and confirmed that the line was pretty significantly blocked by tree roots that had gotten into the terra cotta piping at the joints.  The workers were also able to confirm that none of the piping had collapsed and the the full extent of the problem was at the piping joints.

After the workers had been at it for a while, they called my wife downstairs and explained, in the interest of full disclosure, that they had been working for about an hour, that they had at least another hour of work left, and what the hourly rate was for their team.  My wife found this part rather funny, since they were halfway through their work and it was not as though she would have told them to stop based upon the cost, but we appreciated it nonetheless that the workers were sensitive to their hourly rates and wanted to avoid a "sticker shock" reaction when they handed her the bill.

A-1 did great work, as evidenced at least by the dense cluster of tree roots that they cut and pulled out of the piping.  The guys were hard-working, friendly, and professional.  After the work was done, they also offered to clean up the slight mess caused by pulling the roots out (my wife told them not to worry about it, but it was still a nice touch for them to offer).

Although the hourly rate seemed high, our sense is that it is fairly consistent with other companies.  It is also worth noting that the workers only charged us for two hours of work, even though they wroked closer to three hours.

We were very happy with A-1's work and professionalism, and we will not hesitate to use A-1 again.

They showed up the same day I called.  They did a great job in a short amount of time.  I would recommend them in the future to family and friends.

Mike removed the cement from around the bottom of our downspouts (where they meet the drainpipes), ran water down the drainpipes, and listened and watched the flow of water to make sure the pipes were clear. It turns out they were clear and the water coming into our garage is coming from another source. Mike mixed some concrete and re-cemented around the base of the downspouts.

Contacted A1 on 5/25/2011 morning to clean sewer and storm drains. Someone from A1 called back in couple hours and proposed to come on Tuesday 5/31/2011 morning between 8-9:30am. I agreed. A1 called again on Wednesday evening and confirmed that they will come Tuesday morning between 8-9:30am. A1 also told me that someone will call between 8-8:30 on Tuesday morning to let me know when they will be coming. I did not receive any phone call till 9am. I called A1 and the foreman told me that I will be contacted soon. I received a call few minutes later from A1. Did not give me a name but told me that they can not come this morning. Asked me to reschedule. When I told him that I wished they would have called earlier or not confirm the appointment, the rep from A1 told me that "this is life and things change from day to day." He also told me that if I do not like it, I can take my business elsewhere.

Our driveway drain was completely blocked, flooding our garage.  I called them first thing Monday morning and they came out right away.  They immediately cleared the blockage that had caused the flooding but then kept snaking the drain until they found out where it ended.  We've lived in the house for 12 years, and we even had a plumber put in that driveway drain, but no one ever knew where the drain went, although it seemed to work and not to drain into the sanitary sewer system (per a dye test).  The snake finally came right out of the ground on the hillside behind our house.  They shoveled to clear the end of the drain, which had been completely covered over by dirt.  Now we have a drain that is clear at both ends, easing our minds considerably.  A-1 also loosened the filter cover on our garage drain, which had been rusted shut, and verified that it was clear.

It went very well. Josh wasn't able to fix the original problem because we needed substantial repairs, but he figured out what the problem was, and he gave us a good idea of how it to go about getting it repaired. He recommended that we call Kangaroo Plumbing (and that was to our relief, since we'd worked with John before and were happy that he could do this type of work). When John (from Kangaroo) was doing the repairs, he needed A-1 to come out on very short notice to snake out a drain that was backing up in a heavy, torrential rain.  A-1 sent people within the hour! WIthout their quick response, we would have had a very wet basement, I'm sure. :-) I'm so thrilled with A-1. I love a responsive group like them--they're hard-working and reliable. Hire them if you have any sewer problems!

They specialize in sewer line cleaning. They do not do anything else besides sewer cleaning. I thought that they came quickly. They were easy to get appointment with. I think they came the next day. They were on time. It was a quick visit. I didn’t feel that they were trying to up sell me. I’ve seen a few other plumbers before who were trying to over sell things to me and wouldn’t let me off. I thought that they seemed honest and professional. I was pretty comfortable with them. It worked and they were fabulous. I would use their services again in the future.

I made the appointment, requested a time of approximately 1:00pm. I was told they would try to be there between 1-3pm, which was fine with me. They called about 12:45 and said they were on there way. Took about 15 minutes to unclog the drain (which I was unable to unclog myself). Very friendly and professional.

Our sewer had backed up so we called A1. They arrived promptly, worked on our lines approximately 1 hour. They cleaned up all the tree roots that were in our lines. We used this company before & are very happy with their promptness & professionalism.

Very good experience. I called expecting to schedule an appointment. Dale and Mike were at my home in an hour. The work was performed in a timely manner. The workmen were courteous and explained the reason for the drainage back up. The price was exactly as quoted.

Called A-1 at 10:00 AM and explained the problem to the receptionist. Received a phone reply less than 30 minutes later and the A-1 van arrived at my house by 11:30 - amazing! We told the two repairmen, Mike & Josh, what the problem was and they used a powerful snake to open the drain. In addition to opening up and cleaning the main sewer, they cleaned out the other side of the drain back into the house. Mike & Josh both were very professional and IMO, highly skilled at their job. I would definitely call them again. FWIW, the only reason for the B rating I gave them for price is that I'm cheap.

We called them late evening when the sewer backed up. they came the next morning and went right to work removing the clog. Advised us on where the pipe needed to be replaced and marked it on our lawn so we could show our contractor.
