Eric Eisenfeld is the name of the proprietor. They have always been amazing. They are reasonably priced and incredibly responsible. They are punctual and thorough too. They are great at cleaning up and also great at explaining the things that they do.

Tudi installed new furnaces and air conditioners in our house, and put in the HVAC system and plumbing in a new building we built. They have a big organization and the engineer we worked with, George Gittinger, was responsive and professional. But he was the only one who seemed to know his job. To make a long story short, everything they did for us had some sort of problem, large or small; every minor plumbing issue became a major one because they sent incompetent workers; and we have stopped calling them even to fix the things they did wrong(and thus should fix for free)because we know they will continue to screw things up. A few examples: AC condenser placed too close to the house for easy servicing; water lines from furnace twisted so that flow was constricted; pipe fittings that didn't fit forced into position, then failing and spraying water all over the equipment room. And, despite a large organization and promises of immediate response, when we called about this failed pipe fitting on a Saturday morning, no response was received until Monday afternoon. It was a good thing I had a contractor who came out and turned the water off, or there would have been ruined walls and floors.

WE HAVE MADE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE CUSTOMER TO LEARN WHAT, IF ANY, ISSUES MAY STILL REMAIN, HOWEVER, OUR EFFORTS HAVE BEEN FRUITLESS AS WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE FROM THE CUSTOMER. IF WE DO RECEIVE A RESPONSE, TUDI MECHANICAL SYSTEMS WOULD GLADLY ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY ANY OUTSTANDING ISSUES AS WE CONTINUALLY STRIVE TO EXCEED ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS' EXPECTATIONS."

Received phone call that day of appointment to let me know that service man was on his way (they give a morning or afternoon time slot). Frank arrived, put on his slippers, and went to work. He checked both the furnaces in attic and basement and went outside to review. I have used this company before with an emergency on Thanksgiving morning.....NO HEAT! They arrived quickly, discovered the problem, and solved it so we could enjoy our meal without winter coats on. I was so appreciative of that! I've used this company since then for routine maintenance and have not been disappointed once. This company offers a service plan that pays for 2 service calls a year, and then discounts on emergency services and parts. I take advantage of this. The company calls when it is time to have the furnaces/AC checked as part of this service plan. I like that as I often forget to get this type of routine maintenance taken care of.

I learned about Tudi through their commercial segment of the company at my place of work and decided to have a go with their residential services when I needed a new furnace and boiler in my previous home. They were marvelous in all respects and performed A-1 from start to finish at a very reasonable price. Their installers, technicians and customer service is extraordinary in every way. In the interim, I purchased another home and accepted a bid for a new furnace/AC unit from another company at the advice of a friend. Big mistake! Tudi's bid was higher, but I'm sorry that I didn't stick with their offer! However, they did not begrudge this error and continue to service the new unit. Frank, one of their renown technicians has been great and when I ask for him, he'll do his best to accommodate my schedule. Tudi will get any future business from me as I have the highest regard for them!

Same with AC install. On time, did what they needed to do in the time they said, and offered financing. How often do you have the experience in Pittsburgh?

It went very well. We emailed them and they got back to us. They came out and gave us an estimate. It took a few days to get scheduled but once they were scheduled they arrived on time and performed all of the work in one day. They cleaned everything up and put the grass back.

While we didn't see Eric very much, his foreman and workers showed up when they said they would. They completed the work as stated. Eric is an excellent communicator and is comfortable with email. He required about 20% upfront, then another 20% mid-way and the final after completed work. The work was completed on time. EME will do whatever additional work you require while the employees are on-site, but be sure to check on the price before telling EME to proceed.

April 2007 the furnace stopped during a cold snap. The tech arrived promptly and diagnosed a broken igniter in the furnace. He opened a flat rate book and showed me the part and the price--$300 for the repair. Knowing nothing about the complexity of the repair, I approved the price. The tech went to the basement, talked on his cell phone for 5 minutes, worked for 15 and then brought me the bill. I had also asked for the damaged part. I was shocked to discover that this part ($30 retail) plugs into the furnace like a phone into a wall--20 minutes and $300. I paid the bill and filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. I would never use their services again.

Eric (owner) visited for the estimate. Gave the estimate broken down in separate jobs, indicating which would ideally be done at the same time to minimize effort and disruption. All prices reasonable and similar to other estimates I'd gotten. This set of work was for the upstairs wiring and was done over two separate sessions. He has two work crews of two men each, the same crew came each time. Both workers were knowledgeable about the work to be done, verified it with me first, and then got started. Eric dropped in to check on them at the beginning of the day to check on supplies. Things went generally according to plan both sessions. We (both Eric and myself) had forgotten to check the bathroom wiring, which wasn't on the list for the second week of work, but since the guys were going to have to come back a second day, they went ahead and did it. The men did a decent job of cleaning up, although I had to go back to vacuum a wider area and wipe some fingerprints off the walls.

We are very pleased with this company and have used them for a couple of years. The workers that are sent to our home are very professional, have good attitudes about their work, and clean up after themselves. I can always find someone to do the job a little cheaper however the small difference in price is worth it to me to have the peace of mind that when I call on Tudi, someone professional will be entering my home and the job will be done right the first time around. They have proven to be very trustworthy.

They came out on a Saturday night, cleaned out a part and got it started that night. It started getting cold the next day and he came back out and the part he had cleaned out the night before needed to be replaced. He was neat and clean. The only complaint I have was that he didn't have the part to fix the furnace and we had to go Sunday night without heat. The lady in the office was very nice and she explained that there was no place open on a Sunday night to get a part. He called on Monday and said he would be there at 8am, however the lady called and said he would be there later because he had to pick up the part first and we were still waiting without heat.

We discovered that the wiring to the system from the Thermostat was not properly connected from the transformer. He spent 3 hours to determine how to resolve this problem. After resolving this, he said that the burners in the furnace needed to be cleaned, and that I could go ahead and clean them myself. I am amazed at how this company can possibly rationalize their cost for simply a trivial wire connection that literally took minutes. This worker was clearly inexperienced. At the end, he requested that he schedule another person from his company to come out to look at the system who was more familiar with steam systems, as he clearly was not, and this was only the second time that he was working on one. Go figure, I get to pay $500 for an inexperience.

Eric's crew did a great job. It was a 2-day job and he followed up the evening of the first day to make sure that everything was satisfactory.
