Merry Maids of McKees Rocks

They were wonderful, I was very pleased with their work!  In the past I have always been disappointed with housecleaning work, including the first two employees Merry Maids sent, so I was leary, but the two women they sent me the second time around did a great job!

They canceled the first scheduled cleaning because it snowed. (not a big deal) They did a good job cleaning. My complaint is that I left the door unlocked for them and a check because I had to run out. They left the check and said they couldn't get in. The door was NOT locked. I called the main office and told them that the door was not locked and I was confused why they did not clean. I told her that I know for a fact that my door was not locked because I just opened it myself without using a key. Basically, she told me that she believed them and that my door was locked. The girls have moved on to the next job. In other words, too bad. Her response should have been "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I will send them back over. What is a good time?" or "Does tomorrow work for you?" That is why I canceled my service.

They were pretty good. They were professional and came when they said they would be there. They are a little more expensive than other companies but I think is because they are a national company. It was about $135.00 biweekly.

The maids got lost on the way here (not really a big deal) and ended up showing up 20 minutes late. They showed up in an unmarked, damaged car and were not terribly polite. They breezed through the house (2 bedroom, 1 bath, ~950 sq ft) in a brisk 25 minutes. After announcing they were done they asked to be paid for a full hour of work (even counting from the time they were supposed to arrive it was not an hour of work). Now I'm not one to begrudge someone their due if they finish early and efficiently. Unfortunately, after the maids left I had a chance to look around and I was tremendously disappointed. Very simple things like cleaning the microwave, floors, and furniture were done shoddily or not at all. To their credit, the woman that followed up with me on the phone the next day was very polite. She was sympathetic to my dismay, and offered to have someone come back to make amends. Since the cleaning was for a house party I had had the same day as the cleaning, it was a bit too late to do anything about it. I declined her offer.

THEY DIDN'T DO AS THOROUGH JOB OF CLEANING AS I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED. THEY MISSED A WALL AND MISSED OTHER THINGS THEY SHOULD HAVE CLEANED. IT WAS A SLIP SHOD JOB. THEY WERE VERY PLEASANT AND FAST WORKING, BUT NOT HIGHLY EFFICIENT.

THE MERRY MAIDS THAT I CALLED CAME FROM THEIR NORTH HILLS OFFICE. THEIR SALES MANAGER CAROL GIGER WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. SHE ALSO CHECKED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WENT SATISFACTORY.

DIDN'T CLEAN THE BLINDS OR FANS, WOULD CLEAN THE PART OF A LAMP THAT WAS VISIBLE, LEAVING OBVIOUS DUST IF YOU TURNED IT AT ALL. VERY SLOPPY, LACK OF DETAIL.

CONSISTENT AND ALWAYS RELIABLE. TRUSTWORTHY AND NOTHING HAS BEEN BROKEN, OR DAMAGED.

I USUALLY DO NOT USE A HOUSECLEANER. I RESPONDED TO AN ADVERTISEMENT.
