We went to the Frazer, PA store (or Malvern) to purchase appliances for our kitchen remodel project. We met with the sales rep named Beverly who helped us choose a 36and quot; kitchenaid pro cook top, Electrolux Double Ovens, and we needed a good hood. Beverly specifically recommended a Best Hood. The prices were very competitive, they beat AJ Madison for a few bucks on each appliance. We arranged payment, and a delivery date. When the appliances arrived, the hood was missing. I quickly found out that the hood had been discontinued by the manufacturer. What amazed me was that neither the sales rep, the warehouse, or the business office were aware that the product was discontinued, all of whom I had contact with the day before delivery. The sales rep made ALL kinds of excuses as to why she didn't know about this hiccup. So, we tried to find an alternative product. The only product that was offered that was comparable was several hundred dollars more, and I thought that since the store had taken my money, and didn't inform me of the discontinued product that they should offer me the same price I was charged. So, they offered me a floor model with a and quot;small dentand quot;. I wasn't interested. Then one of the owners told the sales rep to tell me that would cover the dent with a kitchen aid plague! I was incredulous. Finally, the owner, Jerry, found the hood they sold me on display at one of their other stores and they promised to deliver the hood the next day. At 3pm I called. It was obvious they have and quot;forgottenand quot; about this. He promised I would have it be 5pm. When it didn't arrive, I spoke again with the owner who told me of mistake after mistake. Long story, he said it would be the next day around noon before he could get it to me. Then, another change of plan, and the hood arrived around 8pm. When it arrived, the delivery person tracked dirt into our home, delivered a product that was missing parts, and in total frustration we told them to take the hood back.
Gerhards is a train wreck of a company. Their service is horrible, they don't know their products, and in my opinion, they're disingenuous.
