Charlestown Paving-Excavating

Went well. They stand by their word. Driveway turned out nice. Wish other contractors were like this.

I had gotten an estimate from Charlestown Paving three years previously, but held off as Glenn recommended that we do any additional home repairs and projects first, so that we didn't have heavy equipment on our new driveway.  I appreciated his recommendation, and I knew from our first meeting that we were going to get a well-planned, quality driveway.  Glenn is extremely professional and very knowledgeable.  He was very attuned to the flaws in our driveway (which were many), and he actually measured for potential expansion so that the dimensions would match actual parking spaces.  In the end, we didn't expand as much as we had planned, and Glenn reduced his original estimate accordingly.
In the interm between our original estimate and the job, our neighbors decided to have their driveway repaved.  They were equally impressed with Glenn.  We decided to have both driveways done together, and we both received a discount for doing so.  
When the crew arrived on the designated day, Billy the foreman introduced himself and walked me around the property to confirm our plans.  He made a few suggestions based on existing landscaping at the end of the driveway, and it turned out beautifully.  I was surprised at how efficient they were, as the job was done well before I had expected.  I was also pleased that Glenn came to check on the progress and make sure all was well. The end product is gorgeous.  There is no pooling of water, and it is perfectly square off.
One of my favorite things about the project is that I was given a pamplet on how to care for the driveway after our first meeting three years ago, and we received another copy after the project was completed.  This was helpful in that we were diligent in getting our hardwood floors refinished and some other projects done before the driveway.  This is a very professional, well-organized company that I would recommend without hesitation.

They returned my call for a quote quickly, offered a very fair price. Glenn was very professional. The men who paved the driveway were very friendly and professional. And the driveway looks fantastic! I would definitely recommend them.

They gave a fair estimate. They did quality work. They were very knowledgable and I would definitely recommend them.

The estimate, scheduling and installation processes all went smoothly. After our job was completed I called Charlestown Paving to ask a couple of questions and was offended by the manner in which I was treated. Our sales person Glenn, who was great prior to signing our job, became rude and condesending. I would generally overlook something like this since everyone has a bad day, but he treated my huband in the same manner when he call with a different question. I am now in the market for someone to seal coat my drive and I do not intend to use Charlestown again.

They did a great job. They showed up on time and completed the work.

The workmen showed up and did the job in good time and left the propery in good order. The problem I have is I now believe the company pulled a bait and switch on me. When the workmen came they told me they didn't have the 12 tons of stone as required in the bid but they would make up for that by using more blacktop. They assured me it would work even better than the stone. I went for it and gave them the ok. Now only 4 years later the driveway is showing signs of failure. The owners of Charlestown refuse to come out to evaluated the situation and make suggestions to fix the problem. The salesman was here but he told me he didn't have any authority and he would tell the owners about my problem. I can't recomend people like this. When I have a problem I expect my vendors to be there for me.
