Myers Floors & Interiors

I've been using Myers Flooring for many years.  In fact, they are the only flooring company I trust to do any of our flooring needs.

This project involved updating our existing hardwood flooring in our upstairs landing and hallway with solid bamboo to match the rest of the rooms throughout our home (which Myers also previously installed).   Team was always punctual, laid down heavy cloths for a clean and protected walking path, plus erected a plastic tent around the area to help confine the dirt/dust.   Also, they were willing to set-up their outside work station away from the house to also minimize the blowing/tracking of dirt.   The job ended up being quite labor intensive due to the type of glue used on the existing flooring.   Mr. Myers and his team had to completely saw into the subflooring and joist in order to remove everything.   It was a daunting effort, but they provided me options and listened to my desires to ensure the finished product not only met the underlying structural requirements needed, but also the aesthetics I was trying to achieve.   Although the job ran several days over due to the unexpected difficulty, they continued without a delay (even into the weekend) for a timely completion.   

Myers continues to provide quality service at a very fair price.   They are extremely professional, with a highly seasoned, skilled and friendly team of employees behind the local well respected Myers Flooring name.  

When we decided to install this floor we got two bids from local companies. Myers' bid was significantly less than the other company, and the other company refused to remove the existing wood floor because it wrapped around an kitchen bar. "Too Difficult" was the answer I received when asking the question "can you do the demolition?"

Myers' crew of four employees demolished the existing flooring which required using hand scrapers to removed glue that the original contractor had used to attach sheathing to the floor, over which was the original linoleum kitchen floor. That was unexpected but I received no complaints about extra time/cost and even dug in and helped with the removal. The crew carefully cut around the kitchen bar and removed the old wood floor.

Installation took about five days and the crew moved the furniture around the rooms as the installation took place. Shoe molding was installed in those places warranting same. Because we had decided to upgrade the baseboard, I installed that part of the project. While installing the baseboard, I found about a dozen nail holes in which putty had not been installed. A call to Mike resulted in a next day visit to fix the small problem.

This is the third construction job Myers has done for me. Previous work has included tiling a bathroom shower and floor, installing the aforementioned wood floor in our kitchen, and carpet installation in my office. All work has been of high quality at a fair price.

My overall experience was excellent from start to end. From the time we visited the Myers showroom to look at the bamboo hardwood flooring line, we dealt with a friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. We not only took samples home with us, but Myers even brought more to the house for us to make our final selection. I always have a ton of questions, and they are always prompt in answering, plus following up if required. They absolutely go out of their way to accomodate, plus please the customer. During the installation, their long-time flooring installers always showed up on time and left after putting in a full days work. For the doorway transitions, they offered options, listened to my ideas and expectations to suit my decor likes. Each day, they cleaned up and kept the areas tidy as they went along. Also, they always lay down heavy cloths through the house to protect existing floors as they walk. And Myers is very pet friendly.
