Competitive pricing made buying this product a no brainer over replacing my antiquated 2 zone system. The workers were clean and professional. Drop cloths wherever they worked and on the stairs. Area kept neat while they worked. Everything clean and vacuumed when they were done. They showed up with an army of guys and trucks on day 1. They walked the job, developed a plan and distributed the units and materials and got to work. At the end of the day theyd turned on half the house. Day 2 a crew came and completed the work. Every detail was gone over and paperwork for rebates, maintenance, etc taken care of before leaving. Im a retired union electrician who had a handyman side business. I look for this kind of stuff. I also noticed the installers were happy and enjoying themselves which is a sign of being treated well. It was a pleasure to have this work done by Litwin's and I recommend people give them a call.

I got five estimates to replace two 30-year-old central AC units. Ray Litwin Heating & AC was competitive on price, particularly since they install Carrier, which my research indicated is typically rated as one of the top three brands on the market. Matt Litwin was great to deal with, and the install guys did good work and left no mess. The units perform as advertised, so I’m a happy camper. I give them a “B” for responsiveness because of a mix-up regarding the initial estimate which created a bad first impression about the company. But Matt asked for a second chance, I gave it to him and I’m glad I did.

I cannot be any happier with the service that was performed. I called horizon and asked for a service tech to come look at my heater since is was blowing black smoke they came out and said I need a brand new heater $13,000 when litwins came out they said I just need a good cleaning all said and done I paid $300 thankfully litwins knows what they are doing and are very professional. I called when they opened and within two hours someone was at my home I would definitely call again for services and would recommend to everyone I know

I called in the middle of a heat wave two days before a holiday. Though they were swamped and could not come out until after the holiday, I appreciated their positive, honest approach and made the appointment. The technician (Bob) came on time and was both personable and professional. He asked good questions, then diagnosed the problem and made the repair in short order. I will call on them again and will recommend.

I had estimates from three separate companies prior to choosing Ray Litwin. They were not the cheapest option nor were they the most expensive. They gave me several options to choose from regarding the system to be installed so I could make a decision based on my particular needs and budget. The team for Ray Litwin showed up on time and were courteous and professional. The installation took a total of 3 1/2 days from start to finish; it gave me the impression that they were making sure that everything was done correctly to ensure a quality job was done. So far, the new AC system works great and I have had no issues. I would highly recommend Ray Litwin.
Description of Work: A new central air conditioning system was installed which included new ductwork in a Levittown Jubilee house.

I did not use them. I liked that the young man gave me a good analysis of my needs and he had a pretty good proposal but he did not have a monthly service arrangement and his warranty was less pervasive than the one I went with.

Very happy with the install. From the initial install proposal/assessment by Matt to the finish I was very comfortable throughout the entire process. Purchasing these units are a big investment and both he and his team were very honest in expectations of performance and items to consider. Although I opted for a high end side of equipment for my install Matt gave me lots of much more affordable and cost-effective options so I felt it wasn't a matter of milking a customer for all they have. As questions came up both the team and Matt were quick to respond. As an aside, when my township inspector came by to do the final mechanical inspection they even mentioned how great of a job they did as compared to other inspections he's done.

We had a new heater installed in 2016 and the company that installed it would not return our phone calls when we had no heat. Ray Littman's was able to come right out and figure out the problem and fix it and get us heat for the weekend! While there they also noticed problems that we will address later that the company who originally installed our heater made like installing the wrong size expansion tank, didn't seal the pipe and more. Happy we found Ray Littman's!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. From first contact until the technician left, everyone was professional, thorough, helpful and cheerful. The work was performed quickly and very cleanly and I thought the price was most reasonable for the work done. My system is a little older and has it's problems but the tech never tried to steer me into a newer system. Having been down that path with other companies, I really liked that! Thank you all at Litwin's....we will call you any time we need service and be sure to pass on your contact info to anyone who needs your services.

Wow! I could not be happier with the service I received. From start to finish, Ray Litwin's proved to be an excellent company. Matt Litwin came to my home to provide an estimate. He was thorough and knowledgeable - well above the competition as we had two other estimates. After the estimate, Matt continued to answer by questions until I was satisfied. The decision was easy. The install team was punctual, polite, incredibly knowledgeable and took very good care of my home. The install itself was fantastic. Even in the rain, they worked an entire day and did not delay the install. Honestly, if you want professionalism, quality and care you owe it to yourself to check out Ray Litwin's.

We called Litwin from recommendations in our area, and were really pleased with the promptness (came a few hours later), the diagnosis (wasn't really an HVAC problem but the drains were clogged and the technician fixed it on the spot.) We were so pleased with his diligence, demeanor, and professional dedication.
Description of Work: We actually didn't know what the problem was, but water was pouring out of our furnace (on a blazing hot day..) We called Litwin from recommendations in our area, and were really pleased with the promptness (came a few hours later), the diagnosis (wasn't really an HVAC problem but the drains were clogged and the technician fixed it on the spot.) The technician came to my home on-time and was friendly and courteous. He kept me informed every step of the way. He also pointed out that my installation had neither an oil line filter nor a fail-safe valve on the oil supply line to stop the flow of oil in the event of a fire. These were installed. I truly believe my system performs more efficiently after the new air extractor was installed and it certainly makes less noise. These repairs were performed for a price that less than half of that quoted by another local heating and oil company. I am very satisfied with Ray Litwin's and plan to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Replacement of a leaky air scoop and installation of a cartridge oil filter and fail-safe valve on a hydronic heating system.

The company responded to our request for a service call in a professional, speedy manner. The HVAC technician arrived on time, evaluated the machinery and determined the problem. He explained fully, in a manner that made sure we understood, what the issue was. We were informed that it could fix it but as the system was very old, and the nature of our issue, he could not say how long the fix would last. The true issue is the heat pump is at the end of it's life cycle and needs to be replaced. Love the honesty!! And love that all was explained so that we understood what was wrong. There was no pressure placed while considering options of repair vs replacement. We elected to take the fix knowing full well it could last a day or, with luck, much longer.

They are a Premier Carrier dealer in the area. They had the best price by about 20%. They are local and more cost effective. Their rating with Carrier is higher than anyone else in the area. They came in with a crew and were able to get the job done in one day, which is fantastic for a job that size.

I had met Matt Litwin when I did an energy audit of my house two years ago. I had done some of the recommendations of that audit including several insulation improvements done by Ken Peresta of Gunner Insulation. I was sort of waiting for my A/C to break down before ponying up for the big ticket item. Sure enough on Labor Day weekend the outdoor unit started making a high pitched bearing noise. Perfect, right on a hot, holiday weekend. Miraculously it made it through the weekend only to fail on Tuesday. We decided we were not going to keep throwing money into the old system. It was time for an upgrade. Matt Litwin had done a careful survey of our needs during the energy audit two years ago. At that time he had given me a detailed quote. So I went back to Matt, he updated the quote, the price was fair, especially with the rebates offered and we committed. I think it was only 3 or 4 days later his team showed up at 8:30 and finished right at 5. With a three man team, they de-installed the old unit, hauled it away and got the new equipment in place by lunch. They spent the afternoon connecting it all up. Everything went without a hitch, even the programming of the digital thermostat. The two stage system is very quiet and the control system is so much better than what we used to have. Gone are the 4-5 degree swings in temperature before the system kicks on. It even has and iPhone app which is great. You can see what the system is doing from anywhere in the house or on line. Definitely worth the investment. And I would highly recommend Ray Litwin's for competence, technical know-how, and service.
Description of Work: Replaced 24 year old HVAC system with new Carrier two stage system and digital thermostat. House is two story 2600 sq ft. System is natural gas with heat pump for A/C.

Initially he came across as being terrific and really impressed me. I needed to allocate my funds elsewhere in the house and wanted to change my plans. I wanted to do just part of the house first and he didn?t want to do the job because apparently $8,000 was not enough for him. He wanted $10,000-$12,000 for a complete job. I told him several times that I didn't have the money to do so. He told me that it wouldn?t be efficient or cost effective and he kept arguing with me. He was nice until I needed to change my plan. He became really angry and childish, threatening to tell other companies not to use me. He then hung up on me. I called back and spoke to his father, who understood my situation. At this point, I had already given them a deposit. The woman I dealt with made sure I got my money back.

I decided that I no longer wished to do business with you, as did my father. This outcome had nothing to do with the price. All other contractors I spoke to had similar experiences with you, and many refused to do business with you as well- I will not name names out of professional courtesy. It seems immature to me to write a negative review like this over a year later about a company that did not do business with you, but I will not resort to calling you names like "childish." Our pricing for ALL of the jobs we quoted for you was fair and competitive for our area. I find it difficult to believe (but not impossible) that you received a better quote for any of those jobs from one of our competitors. If you are upset that we did not wish to do business with you, I'm sorry about that. I hope you found someone that was more compatible with you. - Matt Litwin

Overall, I would rate this company very highly. I was told over the phone that a technician would come between 8 and 9. He showed up at 8:10. The company was upfront with the cost of labor and told me how much they charged as soon as I made the appointment. The technician was very knowledgable and kept me in the loop constantly. He told me what he was doing and why he was doing it. Once he figured out the problem he was able to articulate it to me easily. He explained how much it would cost right away and asked me if that would be okay with me. It took him 2 hours from start to finish which I thought was great timing. I thought the price was very reasonable considering I was only charged for the labor and the cost of the refrigerant. I would definitely use this company again if I had any issues or recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: The technician came in to see if he could figure out why our outside air conditioning unit wasn't working. He checked the inside unit first to see if there was any blockage. Once he saw there wasn't any he checked the outside unit. He was able to figure out pretty quickly that we had a leak which caused all of the refrigerant to leak out. He was able to fix the leak and replace all of the needed refrigerant.

I was attempted to obtain 3 quotes: Ray Litwin Company A Company B I chose Ray for several reasons. His price was better. He was organized, showed up every time, on time when he said he would before securing my contract and after. He was patient - he answered several questions (a few different calls from me as I was doing research) along the way. His work was done well and he was clean. I got home from work and couldn't tell major work had taken place. Original quote for the unit I chose (2nd from the highest of those he offered) was 7800. After a manufacture rebate and one being offered by PECO, and after I changed my mind and eliminated the humidifier, final cost came to 6,400. I would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, the experience was simply awful. The scheduling part was just fine. The onsite visit was one of the least professional experiences in my life. I was given the most distinct impression pretty much the entire time that I was somehow imposing on their day, so that they would have the opportunity to compete for our business. It was just incredibly clear in their dour expressions and utter lack of enthusiasm or interest - they would rather have been anywhere else. For example, when I asked them if they would like to see the distribution area, with the valves and water intake for the system, one of them barked to the effect that they didn't care about that. Really? Not caring about how the system is fed? The other companies were pretty interested in seeing that. The only people who were INVITED to bid on the job were exclusively A Rated Angieslist providers within 10 miles. Ray Litwin were the only firm who came out, and then clearly indicated that they could care less and were all too willing to flaunt that feeling. From the very start, no smiles, no good afternoon, no pleasantries of any kind. Guess what? When I'm looking to spend $3000-4000 for an installation - PLUS another install a mere 20 minutes away for my best friend - we expect some professionalism and some courtesy - as any customer would. The next day I called in, to speak to Matt, their salesperson. When I reached him, I first asked was if the people who came to my house were workers or owners. Matt said they were the owners of the company. I started to explain the events of the day before and Matt cut me off after about 20 seconds and said, "Look I just work here so if you just want to complain then I can't do anything about it and I need to get back to making money". So I thanked him and told them to not bother submitting a bid. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially for a company that had so many good previous reviews.
Description of Work: We had contacted Ray Litwin to have them provide an estimate for installing a gas boiler and indirect water heater at our house, and also for installing a gas boiler at a friends house. They were informed at the start of the conversation that we had found them on Angieslist. We already had the boiler and indirect, purchased through our last plumber before he relocated.

He spent multiple hours on site and in the office examining and reviewing all of the information needed to provide you with a quote. Upon arriving at the site, Ray realized he had been there before. Therefore, it was not necessary for him to see things he'd already seen before. It was his understanding that your plumber "walked off the job" leaving the boiler and some associated parts behind. It is very unusual and against our company policy as well as most others, to install equipment that has not been purchased through our company. That is due to warranty and liability concerns. Despite having been to your home previously, we agreed to "compete for your business" thanks to your gracious invitation. Once inside your home, you proceeded to explain to Ray how to install the boiler, how long it should take, and what it should cost. As the owner of a well-reviewed, reputable company with 34 years of hydronic heating installation and service experience, 20 employees, 4,000+ customers, and a sterling reputation, Ray was justifiably offended to receive the direction you provided. But he acknowledges it is possible you've amassed more hydronic heating knowledge via internet research than he has in 34 years of classroom and field experience. Ray also informed me that you were "bad mouthing" Harris Comfort, another respected company in the local area which has been in business for decades. When you called to speak with me the following day, I had already heard about your "experience," and I admittedly wasn't looking forward to our conversation. When it seemed you had no interest in doing business with our company and that you were calling primarily to complain about our owners' perceived lack of professionalism and general demeanor, I disagreed with you categorically. Out of tremendous respect for our owners, I feel it is my responsibility to use the time they pay me to work to support our customers to the best of my ability. When it became apparent that you would not be doing business with us, I felt it was a waste of time to continue our conversation. You misquoted me as saying, "Look I just work here so if you just want to complain then I can't do anything about it and I need to get back to making money." What I said was, "I'm just an employee, so any issues with the owner should be taken to them. And if you're just going to harass me, I've got to get back to doing what I'm paid to do." As explained above, I meant for this to be taken as, "I need to get back to doing my job," NOT that I wasn't making any money talking to you. I am sorry for the way that was interpreted. Everyone who met or spoke to you at our company (including our dispatcher on the phone for 5 mins), found you unpleasant and rude. Just because you plan to CONSIDER doing business with us, does not mean that we have to be subjected to whatever way you wish to speak to us. I don't agree with your expectation of "professionalism and courtesy" that seems to come out of some "The customer is always right" sense of entitlement. When someone who has not done business with us (not a customer) is rude and condescending, we can be human and may not be enthusiastic about the prospect of such a business relationship. We wish good luck to whichever invitee won the competition for your business and hope it worked out for both of you. As a company, we feel that our many positive Angie's List reviews (all but yours) are a much more realistic representation of our professionalism and courtesy, and we look forward to continuing to serve our customers in any way that we can. We're sorry things didn't work out with you. Not everyone is meant to like each other or get along... even if one of them is a potential customer. I did not respond to your review months ago, because we wanted to have time to formulate a level-headed response to your criticisms. We wanted the opportunity to explain our position to you and our future and existing customers. Of course my boiler went on the fritz on a holiday weekend. I called Ray Litwin at 7:30 am on a Saturday and had the service tech at my house at 8:45. I have used these guys for the past 15 years and always great service at a fair price. I buy my oil from the independent retailers but do not buy their contracts. Ray Litwin is dependable.

I went to turn on my old unit on the first 80+ degree temp day of May and no cold air came from ducts. I called Ray Litwin and a tech was at my house later that afternoon and diagnosed a refrigerant leak. The cost of repairing the leak on an old unit and adding the out-dated refrigerant made it an easy decision to replace with new, more energy-efficient equipment. Four days later, a crew was at my house on a Saturday morning for the installation. The techs addressed all of my concerns and really went the extra mile to re-route condensate line to a better location. New unit works great and is much much quieter. Qualified for PECO Energy Star rebate. Everything went perfectly. Highly Recommend!
Description of Work: Replaced 19 year old central air conditioner with Carrier Performance Series 16 SEER 3.5 ton outdoor condensing unit with matching coil. New Electrical connections, whip, pad, thermostat and disposal of old equipment.
