Returned call within two days from initial inquiry and provided estimate over the phone based on my description of the issue. Price was fair, but we elected to proceed with a different firm.

FABULOUS! This was our second time working with Steve and will continue to work with him on future projects. Before beginning a project, Steve draws up the contract with details discussed. If proposal is accepted, customer signs and sends in check for 30% of project with the balance due upon completion. He is timely, writes out and breaks down estimates, sticks to them, is flexible and calm with unexpected....weather setbacks, customer add-ons to the project, etc. At our first meeting it was very clear to him and us that we didn't really know what we wanted except that our entrance and yard needed an entire makeover. He was upfront that he doesn't design (we appreciated the open dialogue rather than having someone just wing it) But he didn't stop there. He made suggestions. His first suggestion was to understand what look we were going for and materials we wanted to use so he gave us 3 places locally to driveby to see his work...one with concrete, one with flagstone, and one with pavers. He also suggested finding someone who does design work because of the size of the project. This was extremely valuable information and money worth spending. We did just that and made decisions on materials after viewing different projects of his. It made it easier to work with our designer having an idea of what materials we liked and didn't like. Steve is honest, does quality work, is meticulous. He does not pressure people. He's knowledgeable in many areas and we appreciate his depth and problem solving abilities. One small example of his problem solving and care for the project, after the seed was down, unexpected HEAVY rains were coming. He had installed the silt fence by the road but there was one more problem he noticed...the neighbors yard uphill from us has a narrow eroded trench at the edge of the lawn/roadway which Steve recognized as a problem until our lawn was established. He went to a farm and got bales of straw to set up blockades to reroute the water away during the heavy rains/flashflooding. During the 2 days of torrential downpour we would see his truck driving by to check on the yard. He's a pleasure to work with for so many reasons.

Steve was easy to work with. He came to our home to scope out the property, the job, etc. A very personable, easy going individual, professional, and skilled. Supplied us with 3 different references where we could see some of his completed work using 3 different materials. The purpose was for us to see some of his work and to help us decide what materials we might like to use since we were undecided. We saw some of his brick work, poured white concrete, and flagstone.
Once we decided on materials and size we wanted the patio, Steve supplied a written quote with contract to sign if we wanted to hire him for the job, which we signed.
Communication was easy and natural. Work was done well and completed within predetermined time frame. Is neat and particular about his work. Wonderful to work with. Love our patio!
