Went very good. They were true to their estimated price. I think it could have been cheaper if they didn't use two men. Ibelieve it was a one man job. At $75 an hour it would he saved me some money if one man would have been here.

Called Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving for service. Chose APEX because I see their truck parked in my church lot every Sunday and presume the owner must be a member. BAD IDEA. They responded the same day and reported a bad timer board that would need to be ordered and said it must have been a "power surge". Installed timer board the next day. Didnt work. Said "Technical Support" told them its a bad gas valve($250 part). Offered space heater to my tenant. Closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. They called Friday and said that "Technical Support" told them that they have the wrong timer board and had to return and send another and the total would be $600, including labor and the $250 gas valve. Closed on weekends. Monday finally get it running. Get bill Wednesday after Thanksgiving and no gas valve itemized on my bill but it still cost $600. Called to inquire and they said it didnt need a gas valve after all, so they took it back and still had to charge me for all the trouble shooting labor on a wrong part!! Wife called again to speak with owner and left a message that went unreturned. Bottom line: "$135" board according to them. $490 to install it!! Over the course of 6 days!!!! This is a one hour job after receiving the part!!! To add insult to injury, when checking their work afterwards I noticed that the tenant had all the first floor vents closed and the intake vent covered with a coat and a vent covered on the second floor with his couch and another with junk. These $88 per hour service men didnt notice these things to prevent it from happening again??? Im no HVAC expert. Im guessing no one from APEX is either.

"Apex has 21 1/2 hours of time in resolving the issue, we only charged 1 part service call, 3 hours of service manager, 1 1/4 hours of owner time, no service tech time. Ted Stump, President"
